5 Innovation: Smartphone Integration (Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) Available with Premium Package on GLE 400 & 43, Standard on GLE 550e, 550, & 63 S 6 With Smartphone Integration it is possible to integrate an iphone into the vehicle via Apple CarPlay and also Android smartphones via Android Auto and operate them by voice control and COMAND controller Functionality includes: Placing and receiving calls Reading and dictating text messages Navigation to and from locations Music streaming Podcast and audio book streaming Siri/Google Now voice assistant Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are completely separate & independent interfaces from the customary Mercedes-Benz infotainment system (they cannot be used at the same time) Requires a compatible iphone to be plugged into a specific USB port Standard messaging and data rates apply

6 Innovation: 9G TRONIC Transmission Now on the GLE 550 (also standard on the GLE 400 and GLE 43) Featuring nine forward gears, this automatic transmission takes efficiency, comfort and dynamism to a completely new level. It is the world s first 9-speed automatic transmission with hydrodynamic torque converter in the premium segment. Its high efficiency helps to reduce fuel consumption. The ECO Start/Stop Function ensures that the engine is switched off at traffic lights to reduce fuel consumption even further. Includes the DIRECT SELECT steering wheel with gearshift paddles. Faster, smoother and more efficient gear changes, which in turn enhances ride comfort and reduces noise levels. 7

14 GLE 550e 4MATIC Highlights For the first time in its SUV history, Mercedes-Benz is offering a plug-in hybrid model, the GLE 550 e 4MATIC, which combines maximum energy efficiency with outstanding performance. The compact hybrid module has been completely integrated into the 7G-TRONIC PLUS seven-speed automatic transmission Electrical energy is stored in a 8.7 kwh lithium-ion battery Battery can be recharged using public charging stations, the wallbox charger at home or at a conventional 220 volt power outlet Charging time using the wallbox charger or the charging station is around two hours the intelligent drive system management aids the driver with specific control strategies in adopting the most efficient driving style. optimum on-road and off-road handling, outstanding spaciousness and high levels of active and passive safety 15

16 GLE 550e 4MATIC Working in the background, the intelligent drive management system selects the ideal combination of combustion engine and electric motor automatically Additional innovative functions such as the route-based or radar-based operating strategy help the driver to drive economically. 17

17 GLE 550e 4MATIC Those who wish can control the hybrid interaction between combustion engine and electric motor themselves, by intervening manually to place the emphasis on economy, comfort or sportiness, for instance. For this purpose, there are four operating modes HYBRID, E- MODE, E-SAVE, CHARGE and four drive modes to choose from. They can be selected using the operating mode switch as well as the rotary push-button control in the centre console. Graphics in the instrument cluster or the large media-info display in the centre of the dashboard notify the driver of the current setting. 18
