3 Beauvais, France Centre of Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence 03 FROM MASSEY FERGUSON The 250m investment made over the last five years in the Beauvais tractor plant, home of Massey Ferguson s high range of tractors, has been carried out with a singular aim: to ensure Massey Ferguson tractors are built to standards of quality, reliability and productivity that guarantee peace of mind for the owners and operators who depend on them. More than 870,000 tractors have been built in Beauvais since it was opened in 1960, and farmers in over 140 countries rely on its products. The 2500 staff employed at the Beauvais site take particular pride in the products they design and manufacture, and while as many as 90 tractors a day leave the line, each one is crafted with the utmost care and attention. That focus on quality is coupled with Massey Ferguson s reputation as a leader in developing and offering innovative and pioneering solutions with clear, measurable benefits, such as fuel-saving Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), which we were first to bring to the market. 4 04 MF Panoramic cab tractors Maximum visibility, uncompromised safety Designed to provide municipal operators of Massey Ferguson MF 5600, MF 6600 and MF 7600 tractors with unprecedented levels of operator comfort, safety and all-round visibility, the Panoramic cab version of the multi award-winning Massey Ferguson Essential cab incorporates state of the art features dedicated to the needs of both agricultural and non-agricultural operations such as verge mowing, hedge trimming and road maintenance. Key among those features is a 140 wide, one-piece polycarbonate screen to the operator s right. This gives a completely unobstructed view of sidemounted implements such as hedgecutter and verge mower heads. In combination with a new left-hand side pillar, this sets new standards in visibility, helping you to maximise the performance of your machine. The extremely tough, 8mm-thick screen ensures the operator is safe from flying debris, while a special anti-scratch coating and dedicated wash/wipe system provides excellent visibility in all conditions. For local authority and road work operations, fixing brackets and wiring connections are available to facilitate the easy fitment of a roof-mounted tri-flash hazard warning triangle. All models feature the same Massey Ferguson styling, with a tilting bonnet for easy service access, and this incorporates a steep-nose hood design to further enhance forward visibility on MF 5600 models. This is a very special working environment one that blends comfort, quietness, quality and the essence of what Massey Ferguson cabs across our product range are all about. To enable you to create a working environment that is truly tailored to your needs, there are a wide variety of specification options, including the choice of the tractor colour to match your corporate identity. Maximum visibility, uncompromised safety The operator has a full, unimpeded view to the right, courtesy of a 140 wide single-piece, 8mm thick polycarbonate and scratch-resistant screen for protection against flying objects such as hedge trimmings. The absence of a right hand side means an uninterrupted view over the working zone of hedgecutters, verge mowers, offset toppers and similar implements, for the utmost in accuracy, and the ultimate in safety. A retractable sunblind and wash-wipe system is fitted as standard on the right hand window. Perfectly matched to this is the way in which Massey Ferguson engineers have grouped key controls to the operator s right, where they can be operated intuitively while full attention is given to the work in hand. Careful thought has been given to ergonomics to bring everything you need for information and operation into its natural position. The same goes for access to the cab, with broad steps and door opening, and to the provision of operating data, with the driver kept updated with performance information at all times. 11 11 Efficiency at work The Panoramic cab ensures not only that operation is safer and simpler, but more productive as a consequence, with tasks taking less time, and resulting benefits not only for the operator, but also for those affected by the work in hand other road users, for example. Cab suspension helps productivity, by ensuring the operator is as comfortable as possible whatever the terrain or speed of work. In addition to mechanical cab suspension, Massey Ferguson tractors fitted with Panoramic cabs can be specified with a number of different seat options, including swivelling types. Further options for Panoramic cab tractors include a choice of cab roof alternatives, including a standard roof with hatch, and a Visioline roof with visibility panel and falling object protection, which provides those working with front-end loaders with much improved sightlines when lifting objects at full height. The result is all-round visibility that is unrivalled on tractors of this type. Operator comfort is further enhanced by high-output heating and ventilation, air conditioning and by carefully-engineered sound deadening and insulation which results in in-cab noise levels as low as 70dB(A). To ensure the operator can both see and be seen, full road lighting is supplemented with four additional roof-mounted worklights, a side worklight mounted on an adjustable extending arm and, at the rear, an additional fog light and reversing light. For local authority and road working operation, wiring and optional bracketry enables easy fixing of a roof-mounted triflash hazard warning triangle. The excellent standard lighting is enhanced with a range of additional worklights. At the front of the tractor, four roof mounted work lights supplement the headlights. On the right hand side there is a powerful worklight mounted on an adjustable, extended arm and at the rear of the tractor there is an additional fog lamp and reversing light. An additional feature allows the operator to only switch on right hand side worklights, thus being more friendly to all other road users at night.

12 12 Essential package the new standard for straightforward operation ESSENTIAL The Essential package, which provides the basis for the Panoramic cab, might be the base specification for the MF 5600, MF 6600 and MF 7600 Series, but examine the features it encompasses and you ll see that it s anything but basic. It provides all the key elements you would expect from Massey Ferguson, with a blend of simplicity, usability and versatility to fit needs that require power and performance without excess sophistication. The right hand console on Essential specification tractors features a T-bar transmission controller, hand throttle and linkage control. Panoramic cab tractors are also available with a multifunction loader joystick, which works seamlessly with the fully-compatible range of Massey Ferguson loaders. The right hand console contains all of the tractors key operating controls, this is home to spool valve and PTO controls. The console also houses the transmission lever, hand throttle and electronic linkage controls. The left hand side pillar contains less frequently-used switches, working light controls and the ignition key. Panoramic cab control with loader joystick Massey Ferguson s unique mechanically-controlled multi-function joystick, which is integrated into the right hand console, can be specified for Essential tractors. Specifically designed for use with MF loaders, its design ensures smooth operation and allows the use of transmission functions. It has been carefully designed to ensure smooth, productive loader operation and simultaneous use of the tractor s transmission functions. Our collective experience in common rail fuelling and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) for emissions control means that our tractors work in harmony with their engines. As AGCO Power and Massey Ferguson share the same parent company, you can rest assured we will always work together for your benefit. The AGCO Power engines that are at the heart of every Panoramic-cabbed MF 5600, MF 6600 and MF 7600 Series tractors are prime examples of our combined efforts to refine the efficiency of common rail fuel technology and meet the specific needs of tractor owners and operators in this power class. The result: optimum combustion and a cleaner, more powerful, more economical and more reliable engine that produces high levels of torque at low rpm. A no compromise combination. 18 18 SCR technology - silently saving you money with outstanding engine efficiency Operating unobtrusively in your tractor s engine, selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology, working with a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), doesn t just benefit the environment through cleaner exhaust emissions. The combination of SCR and DOC, plus the addition of diesel exhaust fluid (DEF/AdBlue ), which can be easily sourced through your Massey Ferguson dealer via AGCO Parts, makes for a more efficient engine, particularly as there is no requirement for the recirculation of exhaust gases. AdBlue is injected into the DOC, vaporising in the exhaust gas stream. Hot exhaust gas then crosses the catalyser, where the heat of the gas causes its nitrous oxide content to react with the AdBlue to produce ammonia, while carbon monoxide, gaseous hydrocarbons and particulate matter are oxidised, a catalyst in the exhaust then changing them into harmless nitrogen and water. Because the engine emissions are controlled externally, in the exhaust gas system, there is no impact on engine performance, power production or fuel economy. Filling up with AdBlue can be done when filling with fuel, and no further additional activity is required. The positive impact on the environment is significant, helping you to meet local demands to prove environmental credentials, as well as contributing nationally and globally to limit pollution. The only impact on your business is a positive one on your fuel bills.

21 21 Engine power management - more muscle when you need it FROM MASSEY FERGUSON Imagine a tractor that responds automatically to the load imposed on it, and adjusts fuelling accordingly to give you extra power when you need it most. MF 6600 and MF 7600 tractors with Dyna-4 and Dyna-6 transmissions benefit from Engine Power Management, providing a power boost designed to tackle tough transport and PTO work. Advanced electronic engine and transmission management makes more power automatically available under load or at speed. EPM works by way of transmission electronics which monitor the load and operating conditions within the transmission and PTO according to forward speed, transmission load and PTO activation. This information is then communicated to the electronic engine management system, which then regulates accordingly the quantity and timing of fuel required. Extra power automatically becomes available above 6 km/h on both Dyna-4 and Dyna-6 tractors, while Dyna-6 models also benefit from EPM when the PTO is engaged. Depending on model, EPM makes up to an additional 25hp available, to meet the most demanding municipal tasks.

22 22 The Dyna transmissions Shift to the transmission that fits your tractor needs Whether your workload demands a 4 or 6 step semi-powershift, MF 5600, MF 6600 and MF 7600 tractors can be specified with the format that fits your workload. Dyna-4 and Dyna-6 options offer four and six clutchless shifts respectively, in each of four ranges, which can all be controlled from the right hand side console s transmission control lever. The unique MF Power Control lever on the left side of the steering column provides a PowerShuttle feature, as well as an alternative method of transmission ratio changing and a de-clutch facility for inching. Shuttle response can be adjusted according to operator preference. Right hand T-handle Simply move the T-shaped transmission control lever forwards or backwards to change up or down through the 4 or 6 Dynashift ratios. To change range, simply press the range selection button as you move the lever. Simple, multi-function Power Control The Power Control lever provides convenient three-in-one, straightforward operation. Operators can shuttle between forward/reverse, shift Dynashift speeds and ranges and select neutral, leaving the right hand free to operate the side-mounted implements. 24 24 four-speed flexibility Available on all panoramic cab tractors, the 16x16 Dyna-4 transmission provides four speeds in each of four ranges, all shifted without any need for the clutch. Creep and super-creep speeds are available as an option. Left hand control On the left side of the steering column, the Power Control lever provides fingertip operation of the forward/reverse shuttle, plus powershift and range changes, while also allowing fingertip declutching. Right hand control The right hand remains free to operate all external machine controls to that side of the operator, as well as the T-shaped transmission lever itself. Tapping this forwards or rearwards shifts the tractor through its gears, while holding it in place shifts between ranges. When changing range, speedmatching automatically selects the correct ratio to match the tractor s forward speed. Shuttling Comfort Control Shuttle response can be varied from smooth to fast according to the task in hand loader work or field headland manoeuvring, for example. Slow speeds for precision tasks Top travel speed on Dyna-4 tractors is 40km/h, while for operations that demand ultra-slow speeds, creep and supercreep transmission options are available, providing an additional 16 ratios and speeds as low as 160m/h. A total of 24 speeds in both directions means there s a match for virtually every operation, while top travel speed is either 40 or 50km/h*, both achieved at low engine speeds. A comprehensive set of features complement the Dyna-6, to make it the most flexible and user-friendly conventional transmission in this power sector. In addition to the features on the Dyna-4 transmission: Broad working speed range In the key 4-12km/h working range, there are nine speeds, while top travel speed is 40 or 50km/h depending on market/legislation, and the complete speed range is accessible via pedal-free operation. This means there s no wasted power or fuel used for pumping oil that s not required. CCLS is available on MF 7600 and MF 6600 models. Highly accurate linkage control Massey Ferguson s renowned ELC Electronic Linkage Control, with its class-leading accuracy and intuitive operation, provides precise draft, position and intermix functions. Further sophistication includes sensitivity, rate of drop and quick soil engagement. Frequently used controls are mounted in the armrest, with other functions grouped on the straightforward ELC console, providing simple and accurate operation.

29 29 FROM MASSEY FERGUSON Active Transport Control (ATC) Active Transport Control is standard and an integral function of the ELC system. This is a shock-absorbing system that minimises the pitching action - automatically adjusting for different implement weights. This provides smoother, safer, faster transport and, by reducing shock loads through the lift rams and hydraulic circuits, also protects the operator and the tractor from jarring. Three-point linkage option MF 6600 Panoramic Cab models have the option of no rear linkage, ELC and hydraulics, or they can be fully specified to meet the needs of the most demanding users. Front-linkage option A front linkage, with or without PTO, is an option on all MF Panoramic cab models, which further enhances the tractors versatility. There is a choice of 2.5, 2.8 or 4.0 tonne lift capacity to suit the tractor. In auto the PTO is disengaged when the linkage is raised and when travelling at speeds more than 25 km/h. It is engaged when the linkage is lowered.
