30 The U.S. Department of State (DOS) Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS) had a precise need: defines the requirements for the protection of the perimeter of DOS facilities (military and diplomatic sites) against vehicular attacks. For this reason commissioned to Transport Research Laboratory (TRL) and British Standard Institute (BSI) the development of a standard.
