11 Operation Turning On 1. Press the button for 3-5 seconds. 2. The mood lamp blinks and the announcement will sound. 3. When the battery status lights up, the device is turned on. Turning Off 1. Press the button for 3-5 seconds while the device is switched on. 2. The announcement will sound and the power is turned off. 3. When the battery status lights off, the device is turned off. The device is turned off automatically after 10 minutes with power turned on. If the device is testing, pressing the button does not turn off the power. Power turns off during charging but the battery status blinks. Opening/Closing the Stick tray 1. Turn on the device. 2. Press the button once briefly for about 1 second. 3. The stick tray will open. 4. Press the button for about 1 second while the stick tray is open. 5. The stick tray will close. The stick tray will close automatically after 1 minute. DO NOT pull out the stick tray by hand. It may cause malfunction of the device. Restart the device when there is a malfunction. 11

12 Charging 1. Connect the smartphone charger into the charging port on the back of the device. 2. The battery status blinks while charging. 3. Refer below for the charging status according to battery condition. Battery Status Blue - The battery is % left Green - The battery is 60-80% left Yellow - The battery is 30-60% left Red - The battery is 10-30% left Blinking red - The battery is 5-10% left It is recommended to use after charging when the battery status is yellow/red. If the red light is blinking, please use the device after charging immediately. Battery status lights are not illuminated when the test is being carried out. Do not use the device while the battery is charging. How to Use the App App Overview It is possible to prevent and manage the systematic health of an individual. Test - Predicts 93 kinds of diseases linked to the body. - The numerical value and the positive, negative statistics of the 10 different elements(blood, bilirubin, urobilinogen, ketones, protein, nitrite, glucose, ph, S.G, leucocytes) are shown in a 1~5 range. - There is no clinical significance in Ascorbic Acid but if it is 25 mg / dl or higher, it is recommended that the test be stopped after 1 day and then tested again, since the reaction may be suppressed or delayed and may affect other parts of the test. In addition, the effect of various drugs other than vitamin C is not clear. - Based on the test result, the suspicious illness is shown graphically. 12

Family doctor - Input your family doctor information to call, text or with the result of your test. Installing the App Please download and install the app on your smartphone to use UCARE. 1. Search for "UCARE" on Google Play or App Store. 2. Download the App. Contents and graphics of the app may be changed without notice. Please note that data charges may be charged when downloading from a data-driven environment! 13

14 Registering Family Account 1. Press the Log in or Sign up. 2. Enter a family ID and password and press Sign up. 3. Enter your family ID and password to Log in if you already signed up. After the first log in, the family ID and password can be automatically set. Samsung Galaxy A series, Galaxy J series and some models for LG may occur App termination due to their Operating System. Please restart the App when this issue occurs. 14

15 Registering User 1. Enter with your family account and press Start. 2. Press Registration". 3. Enter the user information. 4. Register a photo.( album, camera) 5 Press Confirm to complete the registration. 6. Choose the user and press "Test"

16 Checking Up Collecting Urine Samples Wet your urine evenly on the urine stick pad. Wet all 12 pads thoroughly with urine. Wipe off excess urine on an absorbent paper. Lightly touch the long edges of one side of the stick on the absorbent paper. Insert the urine stick into the stick holder correctly. Correct Left and right sides are switched Front and back sides are switched Please observe the followings for more accurate test. Wash your hands before and after handling the urine stick. The first morning urine is the most concentrated for an ideal result. Use the middle urine (urine after about 30ml) for best results. Testing right after the stick is wet is recommended. Changes in color that appear only along the edges of the test pads or after more than 2 minutes have passed are of no diagnostic significance. Regular urine analysis(24hr period, fixed time) increases the accuracy of test results. - For example, you can conduct urine analysis at 7 o clock every monday morning. Do not reuse used urine sticks and stick holders. Please use only once. - It may effect reliability. Seal the unused urine sticks away from moisture and store at 2~30. - Storing at moistured area may deteriorate easily in quality. 16

17 Connecting 1. Turn on the device. 2. Activate Bluetooth on your smartphone. 3. Press Device Connection on the side bar( ). 4. Choose the UCARE device you want to connect from the list. - If more than one device appear, the device on top of the list is the closest. 5. Once connection is complete, you will see the connected icon appear. Inserting 1. Press "Test" after connecting to Bluetooth. 2. Press the button on the device (1second) and the tray will open. 3. Place the urine stick(wet with urine) on the tray correctly. 4. Press the button on the device again to close the tray. 17

18 Correct Front and back sides are switched The stick tray will close automatically after 1 minute. Please check if the stick holder is bent. Bent holder may effect reliability. Recommended not to use bent holders. DO NOT pull out the stick tray by hand. It may cause malfunction of the device. 18

19 Testing 1. Press Start on the app to start testing. 2. Test will take about 30 seconds. (Differs by phone) 3. Once testing is complete, the results will automatically show on the app. 4. Press the result to see detailed results. The actual color of the result value may appear different depending on the user s screen. For each stick, the sensor value is calibrated automatically. 19

20 Mood lamp shows the health condition After completing the test, the result is displayed by the mood lamp with 3 colors, based on the test result. Blue <Normal> Maintain your health. You are doing well. Yellow <Caution> Pay attention to your health. Red <Danger> Visit a hospital or a medical institute and check your health. Follow the result indicated in blue, yellow and red when urine test results are the same in a 24 hour period, 3 times a week. Please note that you can visit the hospital or receive your doctor s opinion whenever you want, regardless of the result. 20

21 Troubleshooting Device does not power on. Push the button for 3 seconds. If device does not power on, connect the recommended charger cable. Check that the device is charging by the flashing LED light. If charging takes place, charge fully until the LED is yellow. If it does not work after charging, it is because battery expired or a battery failure. Do not attempt to exchange the battery, please contact customer service center. Even though it is fully charged, its usage time is short. Check that the rated voltage and current capacity of the charger is 5V, DC and more than 1A. If charger current is less than 1A, the charging time of the battery takes longer. If device can not be operated for more than 10 minutes after charging for more than 2 hours by recommended charger, the battery is expired. And then, do not attempt to disassemble the device or exchange the battery. Please contact customer service center. During charging, the device emits smoke or makes noise. Unplug the charger cable from device and contact customer service center. During operation, there is no sound from the device. This is a failure of built-in speaker or device. Do not attempt to disassemble the device and contact customer service center. The device is not working properly. Use the device in appropriate places where the temperature or humidity is neither too high nor low. If the problem is not solved, do not attempt to disassemble or change the device and contact customer service center. 21

22 Care & Maintenance Handling the Product Urine stick and stick holder Urine sticks and stick holders are disposable. Urine sticks should only be used before the expiration date specified on the box. Throw away used urine stick immediately after finishing the test. - DO NOT hold used urine stick by hand. Seal the unused urine sticks away from moisture and store at 2~30. - Storing at moistured area may deteriorate easily in quality. Do not touch the test pads on the stick. The stick holder may break do to strong force. Device Keep the device in 5~40 /41~104 temperature and humidity of less than 70%. Avoid to keep the device in extremely hot (above 40 /104 ) or humid places (above 70%). Avoid to keep the device in dusty places. - It is vulnerable to foreign matter such as dust. Keep the device in a place, away from direct sunlight. - It may cause discoloration and deformation. Turn off the power after use. DO NOT keep the device upside down. - It may cause fault or malfunction. Keep out of reach of children or infants. Unplug the charger from the device if you do not use it for a long time. 22

24 For Disposal Product or battery must not be disposed as unsorted municipal waste. Do not dispose device near fire, hazardous or flammable waste. Dispose urine stick, stick holder and waste tray as biohazardous waste. Dispose according to local requirements when disposing of the product. Used test stick should be disposed according to the safety regulations applicable at your facility. Do not attempt to disassemble, alter or repair the product at user s option. If you have any questions or concerns about disassembling the battery or disposing of product, please contact customer service center. Appendix Warranty The warranty period for this product is 12 months from the date of purchase. However, the warranty period of the battery is 6 months from the date of purchase. If problem occurs due to defects in the product during normal use, the company will repair it free of charge within the warranty period. Fill out the warranty form and keep it. Present a warranty card if you need to repair. Costs are charged when the warranty is lost. The warranty is not reissued. 24
