Drilling further and faster. Universal Joint The unique design of our universal joint reduces maintenance and repair costs by eliminating the need to replace the entire drive shaft due to wear. The joint is fully compatible with all types of driveline systems and the larger shaft and bearing surface significantly increases the number of hours drilled before servicing is required. Durability of the universal joint is also improved by applying a special coating to the shaft to increase corrosion resistance when exposed to mud. Outstanding Performance Rubicon motors are outperforming their competitors by drilling up to 5 times longer before repair. 4 Mud-Lubed Bearing Motor Drilling with confidence in the toughest conditions Angular contact thrust stack, and oversized radial bearings, deliver performance in any drilling environment. 43% INCREASE IN DRILLING HOURS on difficult horizontal wells Mud-Lubed Bearing Motor Mud-Lubed Bearing Motors are an integral part of the driller s BHA, yet can vary widely in terms of power, performance, reliability, and compatibility with many power section options. The NightHAWK Series of motors rugged design and flexibility allows operators to have the confidence and options to meet any drilling requirements. The NightHAWK Series Mud-Lubed Bearing Motor features an angular contact thrust stack that carries loads both on and off bottom at high capacities. Oversized radial bearings stand up to side-loading to ensure the pack is supported and build rates are met efficiently. No elastomeric seals in the tool mean it can be run in all temperatures and drilling fluid applications. 5 8 9 Drilling Motors Drilling further and faster Mud lubricated bearing assembly capable of achieving high build rates while having a lower setting of offset on either an adjustable or fixed housing assembly. 20% INCREASE IN BUILD RATES Short Bit to Bend Motor The NightHAWK Series, Short Bit to Bend (SBTB) Stack is a mud lubricated bearing assembly capable of achieving high build rates while having a lower setting of offset on either an adjustable or fixed housing assembly. By lowering the required offset compared to conventional motors, the SBTB motor can be rotated during drilling, allowing the drilling of horizontal wells without the need for additional trips - from vertical build to horizontal with one setting. Featuring the same reliable components as conventional NightHAWK Series motors, the SBTB motor boasts a compact bearing design capable of taking on-and-off-bottom axial loads, resulting in a shorter motor and a shorter workstring. Sealed Bearing Motor The NightHAWK Series Sealed Bearing Motor features the strongest driveline on the market today, allowing the operator to have a choice of any power section required to meet their drilling requirements. The sealed pack ensures minimal pressure is applied to the oil chamber by dropping excess volume through a flow restrictor system strategically located mid tool. This is paired with a floating piston and extra seal grooves to reduce the likelihood of mud invasion which causes costly damage to the motor. On and off bearings are custom made specifically to fit the Sealed Bearing Motor so maximum loads can be used while drilling, as well as robust radial bearings to build consistently without premature damage due to wear. Workhorse Motor The NightHAWK Workhorse Motor is a sealed bearing motor that features unmatched internal integrity for use with all available power sections. This allows the operator to drill with confidence during thru-tubing, workover and coiled tubing operations. The Workhorse repeatedly outperforms competitive motors with design features such as upgraded alloys, coatings, mid tool pressure compensation, as well as superior torque and RPM capabilities. The NightHAWK Workhorse Motor saves time while drilling for the operator, significantly reducing cost per hour and service and repair costs.

6 10 11 MWD Shock Tool Extended protection to increase MWD durability MWD string protection delivering reduced shock and vibration to significantly improve the reliability and durability of MWD components in even the harshest environments. 65% REDUCTION IN DAMAGE COMPARED TO STRINGS without MWD Shock Tool in hole With significant changes being applied to today s wellbore geometry and an increase in the use of percussive aids designed to increase ROP, the MWD tool can be subjected to high levels of vibration requiring extended protection to increase tool life and reduce retrieval trips for failed units. The MWD Shock Tool is a shock, vibration and torsional dampener, which reduces the impact of destructive energy on sensitive MWD tools. Axial shock and vibration are reduced by a factor of 7 to 10, and lateral shock and vibration are reduced by a factor of 5 to 7 due to the built in torsional dampening and double acting dampening on compression and extension. The jar can be modified in a service facility by changing out two simple components to meet any requirements in the field. Rubicon jars are completely sealed, with no open ports, to prevent cuttings or drilling fluids damaging the tool, preserving jar life and increasing efficiency. The adaptable designs offer flexibility which respond directly to the customer s needs. Accelerators The NightHAWK Accelerator is designed to increase jarring forces in both tension and compression forces, and can be placed strategically anywhere in the drill-string based on the application. The tool features a unique loading system that stores energy during jarring procedures, and releases to accelerate drillstring components, maximizing the overall jarring impact. This increase in jarring force is highly recommended in highly deviated wells, extended reach wells, or any other well bore where issues related to hole drag are imminent. The Accelerator is designed for multiple jarring events, in both tension and compression applications. MWD Kit Box The Rubicon MWD Kit Box provides the complete solution for any mud pulse directional drilling application. Drills over 11 times longer than client s average MTBF to improve performance A directional drilling company was contending with low MTBF times, rising repair costs and field motor failures. It approached Rubicon to assist with improving overall motor performance and we recommended a retrofit upgrade of the client s motor fleet to the NightHAWK Series Universal Joint. The Universal Joints were installed and the client s average MTBF on Universal Joints increased from 40 hours to nearly 500, with an accompanying significant drop in repair costs. Rubicon motor increases MTBF by 91% A client in North America was concerned with the excess cost of tripping motors on long horizontal monobore wells. Following their fifth motor failure in under 160 hours of drilling they approached Rubicon for help. Rubicon deployed the 5 NightHAWK Universal Joints in the 5 Mudlube Motor. The Rubicon NightHAWK Motor drilled the entire well in 292 hours at a saving of USD 60,000 per well without the need for additional trips. Delivering high build rates at lower angle settings A Canadian operator was looking to achieve high build rates to reach planned depth on a large horizontal project. Having experienced five motor failures in high angle settings, they approached Rubicon for a proposed solution. Rubicon recommended the NightHAWK Series Short Bit to Bend (SBTB) motor allowing the operator to complete the project with no motor failures and achieving 15 build rates at much lower angle settings.
