6 Surge arresters For basic protection of low-voltage consumer systems, built on the basis of IEC 99. With the 3+ circuit of our new NSA 4TT, the discharge of the three phases is accomplished with varistors to N and via an aggregate current gas arrester (gas spark gap = electric isolation) from N to PE. 22 Blind control Coupling/disconnecting relays, blind control relays The control of blinds, roller blinds, roof windows becomes more and more important. The majority of the drives for blinds, etc., are single-phase capacitive-starting motors. If these drives are connected in parallel, they will fluctuate in the vicinity of the upper or lower limit switches. The reason for this is that the motor whose limit switch has already switched off is fed with a return current by the capacitor of the motor still operational so that it runs in the opposite direction. This faulty operation can damage the limit switches resulting in drive or sun protection failure. For this reason it is not permitted to connect single-phase, capacitive-starting motors in parallel. The devices listed in the following permit trouble-free control of several drives at the same time or with several control signals from the distribution. This installation unit can be combined with a moulded plastic flush-mounting box or a moulded plastic surfacemounting box depending on installation possibilities; connection cross sections up to x.5 mm. The socket is designed so that shavers with European and British round pin and American flat pin plugs can be connected. It is also equipped with an automatic operating switch which connects the isolating transformer primary side to the mains system only after plugging in, in this way avoiding no-load losses.
