Example: Maximum permissible I n = 6 A a) Filament lamps: maximum 8 pieces at 00 W each b) Fluorescent lamps non-compensated cos = 0.54 maximum 30 pieces at 40 W each oder maximum 8 pieces at 65 W each Fluorescent lamps compensated or DUO-wiring cos = 0.95 maximum 37 pieces at 40 W each oder maximum pieces at 65 W each Because of the low cold resistance, restrictions apply when switching for instance halogen lamps which are dependent on the type of the lamps, manufacturer, design, etc., (take into account manufacturer s details). The switching devices are alternating voltage devices. 6 Surge arresters For basic protection of low-voltage consumer systems, built on the basis of IEC 99. Maximum protection through high-performance zinc oxide varistor with non-linearity exponent > 30 Modules easily changed without mains voltage interruption (important for instance with EDP systems and insulation measurements) Requirement class C Earth-wiring of the multi-pole devices already carried out at the factory Remote signal module for subsequent installation with potential-free change-over switch, slides into basic lower part to report a defective status High discharge capacity with low protection level and short switch-off time Operating principle of the 3+ circuit of NSA 4TT When used in 5-conductor networks (TT) electrical isolation is required according to the draft standard DIN VDE 000 part 543/A, which is not guaranteed when installing varistors ahead of the residual current-operated relay! With the 3+ circuit of our new NSA 4TT, the discharge of the three phases is accomplished with varistors to N and via an aggregate current gas arrester (gas spark gap = electric isolation) from N to PE. Consequently this surge arrester can also be installed ahead of the residual current-operated relay (no residual current release during discharge impulses). 21 Load disconnecting relay Connection example for a load disconnecting relay NLRE Continuous flow heater Night storage heater A load disconnecting relay (also called shedder, divider, or priority switch) is installed when several large electric users (i.e. continuous flow heater and night storage heater) have to be operated. This relay isolates the long-term operating consumers (night storage heater) from the mains when the short-term operating device (continuous flow heater) is switched on. 22 Blind control Coupling/disconnecting relays, blind control relays The control of blinds, roller blinds, roof windows becomes more and more important. The majority of the drives for blinds, etc., are single-phase capacitive-starting motors. If these drives are connected in parallel, they will fluctuate in the vicinity of the upper or lower limit switches. The reason for this is that the motor whose limit switch has already switched off is fed with a return current by the capacitor of the motor still operational so that it runs in the opposite direction. This faulty operation can damage the limit switches resulting in drive or sun protection failure. For this reason it is not permitted to connect single-phase, capacitive-starting motors in parallel. The devices listed in the following permit trouble-free control of several drives at the same time or with several control signals from the distribution. NFR-K.30 Coupling/disconnecting relay For mounting on DIN rail according to DIN EN 500 For activating several single-phase, capacitive-starting motors. Decoupling is necessary since it is not permitted to connect these motors in parallel (risk of destruction; note motor manufacturer s instructions) Connection per coupling relay dives Additional operation per drive possible through local push button or switch Indication of switching status of the cental signal Manual operation on the device Central UP and central DOWN Ambient temperature 5 C 40 C Contact 6 A / 50 V AC Coil 30 V AC Central UP has priority over central DOWN For further details please refer to the technical appendix page T 44 lauferhitzer Für Durch- I Anzug I n Width Type Item [A~] [A~] [x 7.5 mm] number NFR-K.30 SH

This installation unit can be combined with a moulded plastic flush-mounting box or a moulded plastic surfacemounting box depending on installation possibilities; connection cross sections up to x.5 mm. The socket is designed so that shavers with European and British round pin and American flat pin plugs can be connected. It is also equipped with an automatic operating switch which connects the isolating transformer primary side to the mains system only after plugging in, in this way avoiding no-load losses. For surface mounting installation in very moist atmosphere with the possibility of condensate formation within the shaver socket, an opening in the back wall provided for this purpose can be pierced to drain the condensate. 7
