2 T I M B E R J A C K H A R V E S T E R 1470D The tough guy for rough terrain To provide maximum stability in really tough conditions, the 1470D is longer, wider and has more weight for stability than other Timberjack harvesters. It is the biggest member of our harvester family and has been redesigned to provide the same technological advances as its little brother, the 1270D. New size for productivity Upgraded for serviceability The 1470D is designed for demanding regeneration harvesting applications in tough conditions like deep snow, marshland, rough terrain and steep slopes. Using the same axles as the Timberjack 1710D forwarder, the 1470D features larger wheels and more ground clearance than earlier models - ensuring optimum performance even in the most difficult conditions. Fitted with a John Deere engine, and offering a choice of 4 robust harvester heads, the 1470D is poised to boost efficiency and meet today s logging challenges better than ever before. The engine hood is divided into two sections to facilitate maintenance work. The larger front engine hood can be raised with an electrical spindle motor. The new component layout on both the front and rear frames ensures convenient access to all routine service points around the engine and pumps. Fewer service points, e.g. for the bogie oscillation bearing, and extended change intervals for engine oil and filter radically reduce the time needed for maintenance work, thus enhancing overall profitability.

3 The big friendly giant The unique balanced bogie, only available on Timberjack machines, combined with a low center of gravity, advanced transmission control system and wide tires, provides excellent levels of tractive force and reduces ground impact. This ensures effortless movement in all conditions. Superior stability allows the use of a longer boom reach thus minimizing the area touched by wheels. The low-emission Deere engine conforms with the latest emission regulations in both Europe and North America. What s more, each machine can be supplied with a comprehensive environmental kit and vacuum pump for its hydraulic system, if required. 2/3

With these vital features in mind, we aim to see to it that you reap the maximum benefits from the 1470D s superior power. The Timberjack 1470D furnishes an operator environment which is both functional and comfortable. The 1470D ensures enhanced visibility in all directions - including backwards. The narrower rear end of the new model improves both working and driving visibility, creating a new standard for harvester visibility. The spacious cab has all the ergonomic innovations you have come to expect from Timberjack harvesters: an ergonomic seat, plus easy-to-use joysticks and fingertip controls with the Timbermatic 300 system. Additional luxuries like a CD player and a removable lunch box integrated into the cabin door bring the comforts of home to your workplace in the forest.

5 Turning night into day The 3 degrees of freedom Timberjack also sharpens your view with enhanced on-site illumination. The new optional Xenon lights produce the same amount of light as conventional light bulbs, but last five times longer and consume only one-third of the energy. Due to their daylight-like quality, the lights are also particularly gentle on the human eye. The leveling and turning mechanism provides you with three new degrees of operating freedom: leveling/tilting sideways, leveling/tilting lengthways, and turning around the vertical axis. These functions are entirely independent and adjustable. As a result, the operator can enjoy all the advantages of a turning cabin without visibility disturbances or knocks caused by boom movements. The leveling and turning cabin enables flexibility and ease of movement on difficult terrain, reduces contact damage and improves operator ergonomy. 4/5

It also provides you with all the facilities of a modern office - right in the middle of the forest. Order-based harvesting requires a control system with accurate measurement, computer connections and wireless data transfer. Timbermatic 300 is a measuring and control system which is standard for the 1470D harvester. This PC/Windows based system neatly integrates the harvesterhead measuring system with the TMC (Total Machine Control) functions. Your decision-making tool The automatic measuring system FlashCut, automatically ensures that expertly selects the optimum sawing the sawbar feeding keeps pace with the point. 7 A friendly PC world An information solution for the future Timbermatic 300 presents the entire measuring system on one user-friendly color screen. The graphical interface with a two-level menu system is both logical and quick and easy to use. As a PC-based system, the Timbermatic 300 allows users to work in a Windows environment with familiar software tools, , maps and GPS programs. The display is user configurable: you select only those parameters and programs you need. With wireless data transfer via the Internet or other modern modes of communication, your Timbermatic 300 forms a ready-made platform on which to develop an extensive information system for your machinery. In addition, it converts your forest environment into a fully equipped office, complete with CD-ROM drive, printer etc. Timbermatic 300 is available in 12 language versions. A TimberOffice software package maximizes the utilization of the Timbermatic 300 information and enables you to manage business at home. 6/7

Together with its proven technology and the world s most competitive harvester heads, this machine is geared up to make your production figures bigger than ever Nm for superior power A new electrically-controlled, common-rail fuel-injected John Deere diesel engine supplies the 1470D with the same superior power output, but with a torque increase of 25% compared to previous models. The high torque output enables simultaneous use of the feed motors and the boom, maximizing your harvesting efficiency. The 1250 Nm torque also allows the harvester to operate at lower rpm, which results in improved fuel economy, increased component life and reduced noise levels. Just as importantly, service intervals for essentials like engine oil and filter change have been extended from 250 hours to 500 hours.

9 24/28 MPa for peak performance at brief intervals The 1470D s hydraulic system with a unique 24/28 MPa dual working pressure system generates higher hydraulic oil pressure for brief intervals in situations where greater power is needed, for instance at the start of feeding and in sawing. The higher pressure delivers more power to sawing thus eliminating cutting cracks and to the start of feeding ensuring efficient operation. 3.0 m of stability The 1470D has a 50 cm longer wheelbase than the 1270D series machines and a broader width of 3.0 m. Furthermore, the 1470D features a larger balanced bogie unit and a strong boom achieving a full 10 m reach even when felling heavier timber. These features, combined with the machine s low center of gravity, provide a highly stable platform during both harvesting work and locomotion - particularly on steep slopes. The stability is exceptionally high even when the boom is fully extended. To further improve its performance on steep slopes, the 1470D exerts a tractive force of 190 kn, the highest on the market. 8/9
