2 DELIVERABLES-UPDATE 1: Team minutes from this Team Time MUST be submitted by TODAY (the day of your Team Time) to Mr. Touchton. Individual multi-copter design concepts from each member. Initial team collaborative multi-copter design concept. (Now in MI2) Preliminary cardboard model/mockup of initial team multi-copter concept. (Now in MI2) Team member assignments (i.e. Pilot, Solderer/Assembler, Draftsmen, Leader/Documenter) o Each position MUST attend related workshops before/after school or Saturday (TBD) DESIGN POINTS THAT ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL MULTI-COPTER DESIGNS: Propellers must have a MINIMUM clearance of 4-inches over 360 Each propeller ideally generates a maximum of 1000g of thrust at maximum RPM ALL wiring must be accounted for in hard wiring diagrams BEFORE being connected DESIGN POINTS THAT ARE RECOMMENDED FOR ALL MULTI-COPTER DESIGNS: Motor torque should be balanced across the multi-copter Gross vehicle weight should be kept below 60% maximum propeller thrust Keep your center of mass as close to the geometric center of thrust as possible SAFETY POINTS REQUIRED FOR ALL TEAM MEMBERS WITHIN 3 FEET OF ACTIVE MULTI-COPTER: Safety glasses MUST BE ON when soldering Safety glasses MUST BE ON when wiring Safety glasses MUST BE ON when connecting batteries Safety glasses MUST BE ON when flying multi-copter Remote control MUST be visually verified to be OFF before connecting battery ALL members MUST be clear of multi-copter BEFORE activating remote control Team member clearance from multi-copter MUST be visually AND verbally verified Soldering iron MUST be unplugged when not attended or being d within 1 minute ALL plugged power contacts must be verified by 2 team members BEFORE connection ALL battery and camera straps must be verified by 2 team members BEFORE flight Everyone within 3-feet of cutting/soldering/filing etc. MUST have on safety glasses.
