8 PEFC in space Study on the development of RegeneraWve Fuel Cell Technology for per «Space ExploraWons», based on Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cell (PEFC) (project framework is the Aurora Project, for human explorawon of space). A lunar base designed to generate power from PV during daywme and store excess energy as H2 and O2 for the 14-days long night. The target was to design three different breadboards with two 500 W stacks fed with pure hydrogen and oxygen to test the performance, durability and criwcal issues of PEFC technology operawng under space condiwons MEA and auxiliary components had to be standard elements.
