CORRESPONDENCE a) Geraldin Tai, Acting Appointments Officer - Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services Re: Appointment of Gail Moore for a further three-year term on the Temiskaming Shores Police Services Board Reference: Received for information. b) CERB 911 Reports May 2012 Reference: Received for information. Resolution No Be it resolved that the Police Services Board agrees to deal with Communication items 8 a) and b) according to the agenda references.

3 Police Services Board Minutes July 16, OPP BUSINESS a) OPP Report May/June 2012 Report 10. NEW BUSINESS Resolution No Moved by: Gail Moore Seconded by: Danny Whalen Be it resolved that the Temiskaming Shores Police Services Board acknowledges receipt of the May/June 2012 Ontario Provincial Police - Temiskaming Detachment Report. a) Ontario Association of Police Services Boards Fall Seminar scheduled for September 13 & 14, 2012 in Toronto, Ontario Resolution No Be it resolved that the Temiskaming Shores Police Services Board approves the attendance of Board Member Gail Moore to the Ontario Association of Police Services Boards (OAPSB) Fall Seminar to be held in Toronto, Ontario on September 13 & 14, 2012; and Further that the expenses for attending the said meeting be paid in accordance with the Board s Expense Policy. b) STATO Trail Clarification on Authorized Users (Motorized/Non- Motorized Vehicles) The Board Chair stated that he had received a number of enquiries about the types of vehicles using the STATO Trail including Electric Bicycles and Mopeds. Sgt. Murphy advised the Board that the municipality would be required to pass a by-law outlining what types of vehicles are restricted from using the STATO Trail. Limited-Speed Motorcycles/Mopeds and Electric Bicycles (Ebikes) are considered motorized vehicles and the operators must have a valid License and Insurance.

4 Police Services Board Minutes July 16, Other forms of vehicles include: Low-Speed Vehicles (i.e. Golf Carts) Electric and Motorized Scooters Pocket Bikes Personal Mobility Devices (motorized wheelchairs & medical scooters) Segway Human Transporters Motor-Assisted Bicycles Power-Assisted/Electric Bicycles Motor Tricycles Board Member Whalen stated that the City of North Bay is having similar concerns with motorized vehicles using bike/pedestrian paths within their City. The Board Secretary will conduct research on the use of certain vehicles on the STATO Trail in preparation for a Report and By-law to be presented to Council. c) OPP Presence at the Bikers Reunion 11. BY-LAWS The Board Chair thanked the OPP for their efforts and presence at the recent Bikers Reunion event. 12. CLOSED SESSION 13.
