The Australian Vehicle Conversions Conference has out grown its home at the Mobility Engineering premises in Asquith and we have partnered with TAFE NSW to sponsor and host the event at their state of the art Automotive Training Centre in Wetherill Park NSW. The futuristic facilities and automotive backdrop make it the perfect location for the 2017 Australian Vehicle Conversions Conference.

We offer Australia s widest range of Mobility Adaptation Products for vehicles and we operate a nationwide network of installers and service agents. Our range of products will ensure that no matter what your ability and strength, we can tailor a solution that can get you driving and enjoying the independence you deserve in the vehicle that you want! At Mobility Engineering, we are passionate about safety, education and of course transport! One of our missions is to ensure all participants in the vehicle conversions process are educated with knowledge of the possibilities, the challenges involved and the safety requirements when travelling in a modified vehicle. Ultimately providing people with limited or reduced mobility with the solution and safety they deserve.

5 0 4 The Vehicle Conversions Conference will be a full day program. This year s conference program allows attendees to tailor their own program, ensuring that each individual has the opportunity to take away the most relevant information for their daily practices and receive the most value from the conference. There will be plenty of breaks between the session so that you will have ample opportunity to ask oneon-one questions of the industry experts and receive clarification on product safety and mobility solutions. This prospectus has further information on each session available to attend. There will be four session time slots throughout the day and there are limited spaces available for each session. To avoid disappointment, we recommend registering with your preferences early. Registrations will be taken on a first come, first served basis. Due to the scale and nature of the event, time preferences cannot be guaranteed. TO REGISTER: Registering is easy! Inclusive Vehicle Transport for Families and Carers Ola Winsnes, Autoadapt (Sweden) Autoadapt is one of the world s leading manufacturers of car adaptation solutions for people with reduced or limited mobility. Ola Winsnes is one of the Business Area Manager s at Autoadapt and has been a part of the team since it was founded in 1996, starting with administering consumer trials and demo s. Ola s background and deep international experience within the vehicle adaptation industry provides him with a valuable perspective of this industry. He has seen the evolution of this industry first hand on an international scale, and he is passionate about finding the right solution for his customers. Other interests include his two boys, his wife and leisurely activities including biking and cars! Ola s focus in this session will be solutions to help a person: Comfortably and safely transfer into a seated position within the vehicle Comfortably and safely stow a mobility aid Safely and independently drive a vehicle Other solutions that can be of use for vehicle adaptations

Hoisting & Stowing your Mobility Device Justin Warren, Bruno Independent Living Aids (USA) Bruno Independent Living Aids is the North American leader in manufacturing accessibility products to enhance the lives of people with limited mobility and has been in the accessibility industry for over 30 years. Bruno helps to improve the lives of people with limited mobility through hoisting and stowing solutions for any vehicle. Justin is an international sales executive at Bruno, and he has a passion for safety and independence. Other interests of Justin s include his family and spending time outdoors! Justin s focus in this session will be: Solutions to help stow mobility aids safely and with ease, inside or outside your vehicle Vehicle applicability of hoisting and stowing solutions

Tailored Driving Solutions Maya Albani, Kivi (Italy) Kivi specialises in tailoring electronic solutions that perfectly adapt to the passenger compartment and allow safe and secure drivability. Kivi believes that independence is a fundamental principle contributing to raise the quality of life for all of us and they are proud to contribute to that level in the life of people all over the world. Maya is passionate about delivering the future of driving aids to all corners of the world. Other interests of Maya s include her son, husband, travel and sports. Notably, Maya also speaks five languages fluently! Including Italian, English, French, Spanish and Arabic. Maya s focus in this session will be solutions for: Tailored independent driving controls including, hand, foot and auxiliary controls Vehicle access solutions

9 0 8 Session 4. Space Drive Advanced Driving Technology Bill, Problem Management Engineering & Tom Eley, O.T. Solutions Problem Management Engineering is known Australia wide for both excellence in workmanship and friendliness. The founder of the company, Bill Georgas has been a pioneer in this industry and has been an integral part of building the local mobility industry into what it is today. Bill is passionate about making sure his customers have chosen the right product for their needs and the quality of service delivered is kept at a high standard. Bill along with Tom Eley, accredited Space Drive Evaluator & Instructor, will focus in this session on Paravan s revolutionary driving control technology. Paravan s unique Space Drive II system combines sophisticated hardware with an advanced safety concept, to result in maximum accessibility and complete safety. Session 5. Wheelchair Access & Safety Restraints Amin Akbarian, Mobility Engineering Amin is the Mobility Division Manager at Mobility Engineering and he is focused on delivering quality tailored solutions to every corner of Australia. Amin is passionate about providing independence to all road users no matter what their method of transport may be. He enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, music, writing and outdoor activities such as camping and boating. Amin s session will focus on wheelchair access solutions and will cover the following areas: -Methods of entry and exit to a vehicle for wheelchair occupants - Methods of restraining wheelchair or power chair once inside the vehicle - Safety restraints available for wheelchair occupants while travelling in the vehicle

Travelling Safely in the Vehicle Ali Akbarian, Mobility Engineering Ali is the General Manager at Mobility Engineering, and he is passionate about road safety and doing things the right way with integrity, honesty and most of all, transparency. Ali enjoys spending time with his family, road trips and traveling, music and home renovations. Ali will focus his session around the following areas: Best practice guidelines for the transport of people with a disability and children including child restraints Using standard and commercially available child restraints for specialised needs Restraint safety when transporting a passenger in a wheelchair and other specialised modes of transport Identify and demonstrate legal obligations, responsibilities and duty of care for driver and organisations who are transporting disabled passengers and children Session 7: The OT Driving Assessment Process Bernadette Walsh & Jenny Spiers, Mount Wilga Private Hospital, Ramsay Health Plus The ability to drive is an important part of everyday life. Driving represents freedom and independence. Driving is a complex task that involves our physical ability, cognitive ability, vision and emotional skills. Physical limitations, changes in vision, co- ordination and cognitive abilities as a result of disability, illness or injury can necessitate the need for an OT driving assessment. Bernadette and Jenny from Mount Wilga Private Hospital will explore all aspects of the OT driving assessment including clinical reasoning and decision making, RMS requirements and the impact of assessment outcomes on individuals and their families.

Small Business Marketing A guide for OT s entering the market Kevin Spiteri, Menace Group Kevin Spiteri, Author, Marketing Expert and Digital and Social Guru, will take you through the basics you need to consider when flying solo and entering the world of small business as a sole trader or start-up. Kevin will cover off on the marketing priorities for your business and the basic things you can do to help give you a healthy kick start. Session 9. Vehicle Considerations for Amputees Darrel Sparke, Amputees NSW Amputees NSW is a Not for Profit, 100% volunteer organisation dedicated to the support and development of the amputee and limb different community of NSW. Darrel Sparke, President of Amputees NSW is a leg amputee with over 40 years in this space. Darrel has a love of sports, is a father to 5 and looking forward to setting a new PB in this year's City2Surf and City2Sea running events. Darrel s session will introduce you to Amputees NSW and their role in the industry, and the considerations that need to be made when assessing and prescribing equipment in the limb different community.

Postural and Behavioural Harnesses Chen Liu, Mobility Engineering Chen is our restraint specialist at Mobility Engineering, he is passionate about safe travel and works closely with our child restraint and mobility installers Australia wide. Chen is also passionate about helping people, vehicles and technology gadgets of all kinds. Chen will focus his session around the following areas: Range of harnesses and applicability What to take into consideration when recommending a harness Session 11. The path to achieving an optimum vehicle solution Occupational Therapist, End User, Vehicle Modifier, Engineer This session will take you through the process of finding the right vehicle solution for your client. Led by Omid from Mobility Engineering, you will hear from all the stakeholders who are involved in the vehicle modifications process. Stakeholders you will hear from include: An Occupational Therapist, End User, Vehicle Modifier and Engineer. You will be immersed in a scenario based enactment of how this process is carried out and you will obtain a deeper understanding of what the process involves, and each stakeholder s main considerations.
