1 Best Route to the Best Care Programs include: CARPOOL Make a friend; save the earth! PARK & RIDE SHUTTLE SERVICE Avoid the construction and the long walk from the parking lot. WASHINGTON COUNTY COMMUTER EXPRESS Free WiFi! MILWAUKEE COUNTY TRANSIT SYSTEM Try the bus! BIKE BUDDY Amateur? Experienced? Find a buddy and commute by bike! The Milwaukee Regional Medical Center s Alternative Transportation Program Reduce your stress and increase your free time by trying another way to work! As you can tell, the Zoo Interchange construction project has arrived at our front door. We are just at the beginning stages of transforming our roads into a state-of-the art, 21st century access system! More restrictions and closures will occur on the local roads surrounding our campus. The usual routes will no longer be available. It s time to think about alternative ways to travel and commute. Inside you will find more information on the Alternative Transportation Programs, the options available, how to participate and the incentives to encourage your participation. And rest assured, all options offer a FREE emergency ride program so the fear of being unable to get home for yourself or a loved one if an urgent need arises has been alleviated.
2 Rideshare, Etc. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has developed Rideshare, Etc., a useful website to help you try something new. Use this website to assist you in utilizing the Alternative Transportation Programs available to all staff. Signing up is easy. Go to and follow the instructions. Log in today and discover how easy it is to use other forms of alternative transportation. Come on, give it a try! We are not asking for an everyday commitment. If it works for you, great! If not, try an alternative once or twice a week. As a thank you for trying one of the newly offered transportation programs, the first 350 registered participants will receive a special sign-on gift after logging the first commute on Rideshare, Etc. 95% of staff DRIVE THEIR OWN CAR TO WORK EVERY DAY Add in patients, visitors and vendors and our campus sees approximately 30,000 CARS EACH DAY! CARPOOL There are over 5,000 registrants in the Wisconsin Rideshare program Rideshare, Etc. waiting to be matched with you! Did you know that carpooling doesn t have to be a 5-day-a-week commitment? Try leaving your car home once or twice a week and share the high costs of fuel and wear and tear on your car. Pick a day or two that works best for you every shared ride helps reduce the congestion on our campus. How does it work? Simply log onto to register your name, origin, destination, work times and contact information to find a match. Once registered on Rideshare, Etc., you can find potential matches by distance from your home, work shift and several preferences including smoking. Did you know that carpooling doesn t have to be a 5-day-a-week commitment? Matches will be displayed and contact information provided for you to initiate a conversation. Communication is key to successful carpools. Start a conversation with your new carpool riders by using our Carpool Etiquette Tips or by signing a Carpool Agreement as a way to set your guidelines. Begin your journey with everyone on the same page to ensure a successful carpool.
