MFM Clause Where products are supplied using Mass Flow Meter (MFM) technology, an MFM system approved by coastal states under whose jurisdiction the suppliers are licensed and operating shall be used as the default measuring equipment for bunker transfer/deliveries unless otherwise agreed. The bunker barge operators/traders/sellers and suppliers shall cooperate and provide all information requested by the buyer in a timely manner including, but not limited to: (i) all relevant documents stipulated in technical standards issued by coastal states or industry bodies such as ISO and Technical Reference (TR 48) in Singapore. (ii) MFM live process parameters; (iii) verifiable electronic settings logged and recorded during the bunkering operation; (iv) a valid Declaration of Conformity on MFM Zero Verification; and (v) any further documentation or information which may be requested by the buyer or their nominated representative. The bunker suppliers should provide the bunker meter profile of the delivery within one week from the delivery.

13 3.5 INTERTANKO BSC/ISTEC: designation and flexibility Draft amendment to MARPOL Annex VI/Reg.4.11 (new) 1 or more sampling points shall be fitted or designated for the purpose of taking representative samples of the fuel oil being used on board the ship taking into account the different fuel oil grades being used. The number and location of designated fuel oil sampling points should be confirmed by the Administration (Guidelines).
