4 Company history 1876 Arnold Rump founded the company Arnold Rump J.H. Sohn in Altena; the company specialised in products made from drawn wire for demanding technical applications (e.g. needle wire). The company was formally registered in the Commercial Register on 18th September A plant for the manufacture of needle strip was built in Iserlohn-Hennen Preparations at both the technical and commercial level for the consolidation of the two works were launched by the construction of new buildings on the Iserlohn-Hennen site Closure of the Altena works and transfer of the company headquarters to Iserlohn-Hennen. The company is renamed Stahlrump Construction of a wire rod warehouse The works were extended by the construction of new production and storage halls and office buildings From 2010 onwards the company has been oriented towards yet more innovative manufacturing capabilities by precisely targeted investments.

5 Company philosophy We are internationally well-known as a specialist in customised solutions in the manufacture of semi-finished products. But in everything we do, we have just one goal in mind: "The satisfaction of our customers!" In order to achieve this we have joined with our staff to establish a number of important principles. 6 Quality Management Environmental protection and energy management In order to manufacture semi-finished products capable of meeting the most stringent technological challenges we only use steel supplied from certified steelworks. The responsible use of resources in the field of environment and energy is one of the major societal challenges of our time. Stahlrump is aware of this responsibility. During manufacture in our plant, our experienced and highly-trained staff employ a wide range of testing procedures to guarantee a premium-quality product: We received DIN EN ISO environmental certification from RWTÜV in 1999 to ensure our compliance with all legal requirements.» Material analysis» Metallography» Mechanical-technological testing» Dimensional and surface inspection procedures This was supplemented in 2014 by the certification of our energy management system to DIN EN ISO DIN EN ISO 9001 certification (which we have held since 1999) guarantees that all these procedures are deployed.
