3 We use energy sensibly RHYTEMPER Temperature control for injection moulds, extrusion and aluminium diecasting. RHYTEMPER procedures have world-wide patent protection. RHYTEMPER - Procedures and Process Linkage With the use of uniform hardware and software, our temperature control systems achieve two impulse cooling procedures which differ on the one hand due to the measurement location, on the other hand due to the design of the control algorithms. RHYTEMPER is based on the meaningful use of the impulse cooling principle. This means that the thermal energy from the (plastic) cast ensures the operating temperature of the mould. The excess heat is led off into the mould cooling cycles by means of precise doses of the tempering medium (cooling impulses). The result is a constant mould temperature. RHYTEMPER devices either work with temperature measurement in the mould or with temperature measurement in the tempering medium runback. RHYTEMPER deals with its responsibilities without the use of additional energy in the form of thermal energy. Alone the exclusive use of the calorific content of the plastic cast for heating the mould, results in remarkable cost savings for the user compared with the use of conventional (heating) tempering devices. RHYTEMPER is 100 % oriented in its design to the injection moulding process, with the following particular features: special monitoring of the start-up phase, electronic cycle connection, technologically favourable cooling time in each cycle, cooling stop when mould is opened or during machine down-times.

7 RHYTEMPER 15 Temperature control for up to 15 mould zones RHYTEMPER - the standard device with the example RHYTEMPER 08 The standard device is used to control the temperature of eight mould zones with temperature measurement in the mould or seven mould zones with temperature measurement in tempering medium runback. The eighth temperature measurement site is required in this case to measure the flow temperature. When coupled with the preheater unit, the standard device RHYTEMPER 08 can be used to control the mould temperature in up to 5 mould zones. The standard device consists of the control device, volume distributor and solenoid valve block. All components are installed on a stand. The sheathed thermocouple elements are coupled with the control device using a universal adapter plug, however the solenoid valves are directly connected to the control device. The voltage supply to the solenoid valves comes from the control device, the voltage supply to the control device from the mains. 9 RHYTEMPER IPC Mould temperature control on an industrial computer basis RHYTEMPER - Increases the process stability and shortens the cycle time in the processing of plastics RHYTEMPER - IPC (Industrial Computer) is equipped according to customer desires to control the temperature of a practically unlimited number of mould zones. The RHYTEMPER - IPC can be coupled with the preheater unit. The control system consists of industrial computer in a casing on a stand or on a boom, of volume distributors and solenoid valve blocks, as well as a control cabinet. The sheathed thermocouple elements and the solenoid valves are coupled with the control cabinet using universal adapter plugs. The voltage supply to the solenoid valves (24V) comes from the control system, the voltage supply to the control device (380 V) from the mains. 11 RHYTEMPER Preheater Unit Extension of the previous field of application for impulse cooling RHYTEMPER - Preheater Unit T h e p r e h e a t e r u n i t a l l o w s t h e e x p l o i t a t i o n o f t h e advantages of the RHYTEMPER temperature control system also for injection moulds for which a) cold start-ups are not possible or b) the mould takes too long when starting cold to reach quality operating temperature (low shot weight with high mould temperature required). The RHYTEMPER - preheater unit is added to the RHYTEMPER and controlled by RHYTEMPER. Technical Data: Operating voltage: 380 V AC Calorific output: reversible 6 kw or 9 kw or reversible 6 kw or 12 kw Temperature range: max. 80 C, 100 C if desired by customer Pump: 0.75 kw, 2m3/h, 4 bar How the preheater unit works When measuring temperature in the mould: After switching on the preheater unit using the RHY- TEMPER control device, a switch is made from the operational cooling cycle to the internal heating cycle.
