22 CONCLUSIONS (1) Marine Lubricants can contribute to sustainability in shipping Marine lubricants have to be finely tuned to engine technologies and fuels regulations to be efficient for sustainability The items to investigation when looking at lubes sustainability are: the raw materials consumption control the reliability and the efficiency of the lubricated systems the contribution to CO2 emission limitation Biodegradability or recyclability
