2 Page 2 of 3 text pages 1 Purpose of investigation Testing of the safety of an installation element against ball throwing according to DIN : "Sports halls, halls for gymnastics and games and multipurpose use: Testing of the safety against ball throwing". Testing of the impact resistance according to EN 13984, annex D. 2 Description of the installation element The element to be tested was the,,rockfon ceiling element" with sports hall lamp The tested suspended ceiling consists of a grid layout of main and cross runners of galvanised steel with a smooth, white visible surface. In accordance with the tested module size, the distance between the main runners as well as between the cross runners was 1200 mm. Rockfon "Boxer" tiles of 40 mm thickness were placed within the exposed grid, Two steel channels were laid on top of the tiles and hooked to the main runners with cross connectors to secure the tiles in place. At right angles to these securing steel channels two additional steel channels were placed and joint with cross connectors. (see enclosure 2) Main and cross runners was a product "CMC. "Nonius" hangers were hung at the main runners every 1200 mm For the test a ceiling light (type Philips TBH 375) was installed to a main runner (see enclosure 3) Alternatively "Samson" tiles of 40 mm thickness can be used instead of "Boxer" tiles, or SPORTFON NEO" tiles. 3 Page 3 of 3 text pages 3 Testing procedure The tests were carried out according to DIN : Sports halls, halls for gymnastics and games and multipurpose use: Testing of the "safety against ball throwing" as well as EN 13964, annex D "Impact resistance". The procedures applied are accredited according to DIN EN ISOllEC 17025:2005 (DAR-registration-no. DAP-PL , annex). Therefore it is classed "safe against ball throwing" according to DIN : , regarding the field of application "ceiling" as well as "class 1A" according to EN 13964, annex D (impact velocity 16,5 +I- 0,8 mls). This test report is valid until A replicate test after is not necessary if the client can prove that the tested construction has not been significantly changed and is installed without any changes.
