1 Trials The 22 season was dominated by a wet start followed by a severe drought. While generally poor growing conditions prevailed, those conditions provided an opportunity to evaluate varieties under drought pressure. HB4P handled the drought exceptionally well and was the top yielder in five of eleven trials and came in second in one. An older varieties, 14 x L8 faired well taking top honors in three trials and coming in second in two. It, however, came in last in one. Other high yielding varieties included Hybrid 43, KT2 & R7-12. Lowering yielding varieties like R63 and NC have their place, but did not yield with most of the other varieties.
