1 ILLUSTRATION FOR THD SERIES THD THD type housings are widely used for take-up pulley for conveyor belt tensioning application. At top & bottom of the housings suitable grooves are provided to facilitate smooth sliding of THD take-up unit on the guide rail. At one end suitable fork arms are extended to facilitate use of anchor pin for fitment of screw for tightening the belt. Type:- THD housings are non-split type with covers at both sides. The bearing can be mounted on adapter sleeve in general. Upon demand or as per application THD housings can be supplied for directly mounting bearing on the shaft. They are available for locating & non-locating bearing arrangement. THD take-up housings are designed for grease lubrication. The recommended initial grease fill for each housing is specified in the table. Suitable grease nipple is provided in each housing. Seals:- THD take-up housings are supplied with labyrinth seals. To protect the bearing in dusty & damp environment, the cavity of labyrinth seal are filled with grease while initial assembly. Eye bolt:- An eye bolt is not required and not provided in THD take-up housing. Materials:- THD housings can be supplied in following materials. (1) Cast steel THDS (2) High Grade grey cast iron THDC (3) Spheroidal graphite iron (Ductile Iron) THDD THD Material: - grey cast iron Spheroidal graphite iron cast steel C D S Size designation e.g according to suitable bearing no. Supplementary designations :- Housings for bearing with adapter sleeve for plain cylindrical shaft Housings for bearing with adapter sleeve for stepped cylindrical shaft Housings for shaft end, with end cover Housings for through shaft Housings for non-locating bearing Housings for locating bearing Standard C A B L F Note: it is important to specify the bearing housing requirement as:- (1) AL Housings for shaft end, with end cover, for non-locating bearing. (2) AF Housings for shaft end, with end cover, for locating bearing. (3) BL Housings for through shaft, for non-locating bearing. (4) BF Housings for through shaft, for locating bearing. 46
