3 3 Designing a Bus Livery The National Transport Authority (NTA) is seeking people s views regarding the design of a bus livery for a new service operator in the Dublin metropolitan area. The new operator, Go-Ahead, has been selected as the preferred bidder for the contract relating to the operation of 24 public service obligation (PSO) bus routes across Dublin. It is expected to begin operating some of these routes by the end of November 2018 and all routes by February Over 120 buses will be funded and provided by the NTA for these operations. These new buses require painting of their exterior which is referred to as the livery.

4 4 What are the livery options? The livery options provided for your consideration have been developed using the standardised Transport for Ireland (TFI) transport mode colour palette and guidelines. We have, for the sake of simplicity, reduced the number of liveries under consideration to four, the options are shown on pages 10, 11, 12 and 13 of this document. We believe this will make it easier to assess the merits of each and make choices as to how they rank against each other.

6 6 What is the TFI Colour by Mode System? Sráid an Chnoic Each mode of public transport has been assigned it s own unique colour. This is called the colour by mode system and it was developed in order to simplify public transport branding and create uniform systems of communications where modes An Túr of Solais The Spire transport are identified by colour and icon. The colours available for use in the redesigned bus liveries shown overleaf are TFI Green and TFI Bus Blue. It is not intended to deviate from the use of these colours.
