1 MOUNTING LOCATION Reader RD- FOR RF CONTROLLER VIZIT-KTM60 R, EXIT 00M BUTTON This manual is intended as an addition to operating instructions on your access control system (ACS) units to guide through installation process. Before you start, please study thoroughly operating instructions on ACS units. RF controller VIZIT-KTM60R contains the reader RD- and control unit KTM60M, and may be used as the part of ACS as well as a stand-alone system. Please note, only VIZIT-RF keys ( KHz ) are supported. 7 mm The reader is mounted on a wall near the entrance door, outside the entrance doorway. EXIT 00M button 7 mm EXIT 00M button is intended for use with electromagnetic lock to ensure lock release from inside of the building. The button is mounted on a wall near the entrance door, inside the entrance doorway. Control unit KTM60M 6 mm The unit is located in any convenient place indoors. WARNING. 2 SELECTION OF LOCK FOR VIZIT-KTM60R RF controller VIZIT-KTM60R allows operation with different types of locks, such as electromagnetic locks, various electric strikes, electromechanical solenoid locks. Electromagnetic lock The lock is blocked as long as the power is switched on. Once the current is switched off or interrupted due to a power failure, the lock is released and the door can be opened. Recommended: electromagnetic locks VIZIT with a built-in degaussing module, in combination with door closers. IMPORTANT. DO NOT use electromagnetic locks with resistance less than 0 Ohms and not provided with a built-in degaussing module. Basic types of electric strikes, solenoid locks - Fail-locked (Fail-secure) The strike / lock is blocked as long as the power is switched off. Once the voltage is switched on, the strike / lock is released and the door can be opened. Recommended: fail-locked strikes / solenoid locks with supply voltage VDC and current consumption up to A, or VDC and current consumption up to 0. A. - Fail-locked with hold-open function The strike / lock is unblocked after a short power impulse, and remains unblocked, even when the power is off. Once the door is opened and then closed again, the strike / lock will resume its normal operation, and will be blocked again. Recommended: fail-locked strikes / solenoid locks with supply voltage VDC or VDC and current consumption up to A. - Fail-unlocked (Fail-safe) The strike / lock is blocked as long as the power is switched on. Once the voltage is switched off or interrupted due to a power failure, the strike / lock is released and the door can be opened. Recommended: fail-unlocked strikes / solenoid locks with supply voltage VDC and current consumption up to 0.6 A, or VDC and current consumption up to 0. A. Note. The VIZIT-KTM60R does not support use of motor locks. VCS-60R /8

3 SELECTION OF LOCK FOR VIZIT-KTM60R Settings with regard to the lock type In order to correctly set the lock control logic, unlocked time, and lock supply voltage, the KTM60M PCB has corresponding jumpers installed: LOCK jumper defines the door lock control mode: - position ML strike / lock is released when voltage is switched off. - position EL strike / lock is released when voltage is switched on. TIME jumper defines the unlocked state duration ( or 7 seconds): - position S - unlocked state duration is second. - position 7S - unlocked state duration are 7 seconds. VOLT jumper defines the lock voltage across +DL & -DL terminals: - position voltage range within 7 VDC to VDC with current range from 0 A to A. - position 8 - voltage range within 7 VDC to 0 VDC with current range from 0 A to A. Note. The voltage ranges given are applicable for the mains voltage 0 VAC. IMPORTANT. Some models of electric strikes and solenoid locks are provided with an integrated damper diode to eliminate pulse noise after current off. If this is the case, the strike / lock has polar wiring. If an electric strike or solenoid lock does not contain a damper diode, then connect a damper diode supplied to the strike / lock's terminals observing polarity, as shown in the picture below. 4 WIRING CABLES AND DISTANCES Wiring is recommended to be done using a cable with copper conductors () with PVC insulation () and PVC jacket (). 5 INSTALLATION Reader RD- 60 mm - Make measurements on a wall with center to center distance 60 mm. Drill holes () with diameter 6 mm and depth 0 mm. - Drive anchors () in the holes. - Strip the ends of connecting wires that will go to the control unit KTM60M, and solder the ends to the reader s wires following the diagrams given in the section WIRING DIAGRAMS. - Put tightly over each soldered connection a PVC tube or a heat-shrink tube around 0 mm long (). PVC tubes and heat shrink tubes are not supplied - Attach the Reader RD- to the wall and fasten two screws () in the anchors. - Drive in gags (). Anchors, screws and gags are supplied with VIZIT-KTM60R. EXIT 00M button 60 mm - Make measurements on a wall with center to center distance 60 mm. Drill holes () with diameter 6 mm and depth 0 mm. - Drive anchors () in the holes. Lock - Strip the ends of connecting wires that will go to the control unit KTM60M and to the lock and solder the ends to the button s wires following the diagrams given in the section WIRING DIAGRAMS. - Put tightly over each soldered connection a PVC tube or a heat-shrink tube around 0 mm long (). PVC tubes and heat shrink tubes are not supplied - Attach the EXIT 00M button to the wall and fasten two screws () in the anchors. - Drive in gags (). Anchors, screws and gags are supplied with EXIT 00M button. Follow directions given in the manufacturer s installation manual. VCS-60R /8

6 INSTALLATION Control unit KTM60M The control unit may be mounted on a wall or DIN-rail. - Drill in a wall holes () with diameter 6 mm and depth 0 mm. - Drive anchors () in the holes. - Attach the control unit to the wall and fasten screws () in the anchors. Anchors and screws are supplied with VIZIT-KTM60R. 7 QUICK START OF THE CONTROL UNIT Make sure that the control unit is disconnected from the mains. Remove the PRG jumper from the control unit s PCB. Place the control unit s lid back, but do not tighten the screws. Connect the control unit to the mains. A long beep is sound ing. Perform the MASTER-key memorizing: approach a blank VIZIT-RF key close to the reader s antenna. One short and two long beeps are sounding: the MASTER-key has been recorded. Disconnect the control unit from the mains, take off the lid and restore the PRG jumper to its place. Put the lid to its place and tighten the screws. Connect the control unit to the mains. Perform ACCESS and GUARD keys memorizing as described in the VIZIT-KTM60R operating instruction. VCS-60R 7/8
