4 Problem No.1: Will not except password. ouch the white box. Type in mut and then touch the green arrow. If you see any one of these me ssages make change as follow Touch here first and the white box will open White Box Green Arrow Cap lock is ON Make sure caps lock is OFF. Look at indictor Green lamp should be OUT. Number lock is ON Make sure Number lock is OFF. Look at indictor Green lamp should be OUT. 4

5 Problem No. 2 : Will not communicate with vehicle selected system. Data Link Connection OBDII / Data link connection locations can be found in the servi ce manual model vehicles have more then one location for the OBDII connection, use the one labeled in the service manual (For Inspection) under Installed Location of Parts. Found in the index of each group.( example : 2005 FE/FG pg. 13E-56) Make sure ignition switch is turned ON. Make sure selection fits vehicles application. Transmission: Aisin/ Jatco ONLY. Integration control: Auto Cruise system 2005 and Up FK/FM ONLY. 5

6 Continued: Make sure that the power is getting through to the V.C.I. Check the indicator lamp on the V.C.I. V.C.I must have power coming in from both the USB cable and the vehicle MUT III Harness Green Light Only: Vehicle 12 volts is present 1. Check for proper connection of the USB cable at PC and at V.C.I. V.C.I. Power Switch PC (USB) Power is present And/or V.C.I. Power switch is OFF MIL: Malfunction indicator Lamp RED Light Only: 1. Check vehicle MUT III harness connections. 2. Check to see if power switch is ON for the V.C.I. 3. Check fuse in cigarette adapter power cord. ( Model year Vehicles Only) 4. Check for MIL lamps when the ignition switch is turned ON. ( If Aisin transmissions do not have any active codes the MIL lamp with turn ON for only 3 seconds) 5. Check for power at OBDII. ( 2005 Up Model Trucks) Model 2005 Fuses: B13 FE/FG, B17 FK/FM Cigarette Adapter 3 Amp glass fuse 6

7 Continued :Check to make sure the data is being communicated through the V.C.I. Check the status of the communication by looking at LCD display [ P V ] OR [ P V ] Communication in progress. [ P - V ] *NO communication is transferred. DriveRecorder[1] S If DriveRecorder is displayed on the LCD then, power lost from the PC. The ON/OFF switch on the V.C.I. must be turned OFF and then turned back ON. Communication should resume. * When communicating with the engine or transmission and then going right into the ABS system, you might have to turn OFF the ignition then turn it back ON to get the communication to transfer. 7

8 Final Notes Always use the service manual for the vehicle being tested. OBDII / Data link connection location can be found in the service manual.
