1 2000 pound lift installation photos and troubleshooting helps This photo shows a wired lift. Shown in this photo User will install: From the control cable: small blue wire on front solenoid terminal small red wire on same terminal as the red wire small green wire top valve terminal small white wire bottom valve terminal You can see the red and orange wire in the lower right corner heading for the trombetta. You can see in the next photo that they plug into spade termianals at the bottom of the Trombetta. From the hoist cable: Photo below shows the yellow wire on the left and the black on the right.

2 This photo shows all the pump components. The pump has 4 main parts. The pump is at the bottom, tank on the right and motor on the left with valves in the middle On top left end (black plastic top of the pump motor) is the solenoid. This turns the pump motor on or off. The small red wire feeds 12 volts to the push button switch and when either up or down is pressed the blue wire should have 12 volts to turn on the pump. The small red wire provides power to everything on the switch. Make sure it always has power! Trouble shooting: you should have 12 volts from the big red wire to the pump body or to the big terminal that comes out of the very far left end of the pump. If not check your power cable and in line fuse by the battery. When you press up or down you should get 12 volts in the blue wire to ground. If you have 12 volts in the red wire but not the blue while holding the up or down button you may have a bad cable or push button. The black plastic in the center rear with the green wire are the hydraulic valves. These control in or out on the hydraulic cylinders. The solinoid turns the pump on then one of these valves selects direction. If up or down is pressed one of these should have 12 volts. Only 1 should have 12 volts at a time.

3 The black plastic on the right is the trombtta (relay or contactor) the red wire supplies 12 volt power and it should be live all the time. the big yellow and black wires go to the hoist. The trombetta will supply 12v to one side and ground to the other to make the hoist go up and it reverses to make it go down. This is just a standard reversing contactor. The small black and orange wires control the trombetta and when up or down is pressed only one of these should have 12V. If the hoist only goes 1 direction try switching the orange and black wires. If the hoist goes the opposite way only then you probably have 1 side of the trombetta bad. The Trombetta is the most common item other than fuses that we replace. Below is a photo of a new pump with cover removed. This is how we ship these. On the left end back are the red and black wire termials. The black will come straight from the battery and the red will come through the in line fuse (shown on the far left on the desk) and then through the main shutoff safety switch, this switch should always be off unless you are using the lift. We suggest mounting the switch somewhere in the cab. The big black grommet in front of the red battery terminal is where the control cable goes into the box the bottom black plastic grommet is for the hoist cable. The upper hydraulic Tee is for the retract hoses ( they hook up at the rod end of the cylinders or farthest back near the tail gate). The straight part of the Tee is for the driver side and the 90 degree part that points down is for the passenger side.

4 The lower Tee is for the extend hoses ( shorter hoses closest to the cab) The straight part of the Tee is for the driver side and the 90 degree part that points down is for the passenger side. Make sure the pump is bolted down with the 6 bolts and make sure the cover is installed when in use. Below is a photo of an installed pump box Below is a photo of the hoses coming under the bed from the pump box to the passenger side.

5 Below is a photo of the power wire from the battery ( heavy black wire) to the inline fuse ( encased in the blue tape) the wire then goes to the shut off switch in the cab then back to the red terminal on the pump box. There is also shown an extra wire from the negative side of the battery. This wire goes straight to the black terminal on the pump box.

7 Below is a photo of how the top clamps are arranged that hold the lift in place.

9 Above is how the back of the lift is fixed to the wall. Install the clamps at the top and screw to the wall after you have drilled and attached all the holes that hold the lift down to the bed. Below is a complete, old beat up lift. You can see the pump box near the cab on the driver s side and the control plug port at the driver side rear.
