1 Types ALB- and NLB- ircuit Breakers for Naval Shipboard Use Types ALB- and NLB- Breakers 5 Volts ac and dc, 50 Amperes Maximum, 5000 Amperes I.. Interrupting Rating 0 50 ampere units: 5,000 amperes ac and,500 amperes dc. 5 ampere unit:,500 amperes ac or dc. High shock Navy ALB- circuit breakers are designed for shipboard protection of single-phase ac and dc circuits or three-phase ac circuits when breakers are connected by handle yokes for - and -pole operation. The NLB- breaker is the nonautomatic design of the ALB-. Since the tripping element is omitted, it is used as a manual disconnect. Non-adjustable thermal and magnetic trip elements are factory calibrated and sealed. The tripping element is counterbalanced to reduce possibility of accidental tripping under shock. All parts are given a corrosion-resistant treatment in compliance with MIL-E-97. Plug-in line connections simplify panelboard mounting. A clamp type terminal on the line end of the breaker provides plug-in connection to bus stabs in panelboard mounting blocks. For front connection, there is a pressure type terminal on the load end of the breaker. ALB- AND NLB- IRUIT BREAKER PRODUT SELETION NET WEIGHT 8 OZ. 11 Types ALB- and NLB- haracteristic Time-urrent urve ALB- Breaker MIL This specification includes the ALB- type circuit breaker. It requires that this breaker carry 5% of current ratings for more than one hour and that the primary elements initiate tripping at 8% rated current within one hour and at 00% in 0 to 00 seconds. A tripping characteristic of the primary element is based on the current flowing through all poles in series and in an ambient of 50 The minimum instantaneous trip setting shall be 0 amperes or 0 times the element rating, whichever is less, and trip at not less than 0.5 cycles. At 800 amperes, the breaker must trip at 0.00 second or less.
