23 c Installation Instructions Manual for Tilbury Truck Kits 878 (Two Arm) and 8808 (Three Arm) This sheet provides installation and operation instructions for Cascade Tilbury Truck Kits 878 and Each kit provides an Indicator Cab Light to show the attachment has reached a user specified target clamp pressure setting, when arms are fully open and a Switch to activate the attachment mounted laser indicator. This kit is intended for use with Attachment Kits 878 and 878 to provide the functionality described in the Operation Section of this manual. 25 Installation NOTE: Wear appropriate protective gear, goggles and gloves. Clean up and dispose of spilt hydraulic oil appropriately. NOTE: UL Classified Kits require installation by qualified personnel only without major disturbance, cutting, splicing or soldering of factory installed wiring. NOTE: For wire connections, refer to the electrical schematic. IMPORTANT: To prevent electrical shock or system damage, disconnect the truck cable from the negative battery terminal. WARNING: This Cascade Corporation equipment to be installed, serviced, maintained and decommissioned by a trained and authorized technician only. Locate a position to install the laser switch on the truck dashboard. A dash cutout may already be provide. Verify the switch and cab light are close enough to each other to accommodate cable lengths. Install switch and cable (part no. 8787). Install the cab light on the truck overhead guard or dashboard for easy driver peripheral viewing. Route the cable end toward the switch. Install power harness (part no. 089) to a switched power supply. IMPORTANT for Kit 878 (Two Arm) Route and install truck harness (part no. 8780). Connect to the Cab Light, Switch and Power harness cables. Refer to the schematic. IMPORTANT for Kit 8808 (Three Arm) Route and install truck harness (part no. 8808). Connect to the Cab Light, Switch and Power harness cables. Refer to the schematic. Connectors are supplied to connect the truck harness to an existing over the mast electrical supply. Install connectors to each end of the over the mast electrical supply. Cab Light Check installation and connections on the truck and over the mast electrical supply. Verify proper (+) and (-) terminal hookups. Reconnect truck negative battery terminal. Over the mast electrical supply Test before Use Test before first time use or returning this equipment to service. Test in a safe environment, away from pedestrians or bystanders, without lifting or supporting a load more than a few inches (centimeters) off of the floor. Verify that the attachment will adequately handle the intended load. Verify that all system functions are working as intended. 26 Operation Read and understand all Important Information on these pages. Attachment Functions Kits 878 and 878 (Two Arm) Cab Light and Laser Switch operates as described below. Kits 8808 and 878 (Three Arm) Cab Light and Laser Switch operates as described below. Use the upper laser to determine height of telescopic upper arms. Middle or top arms will shut off automatically when there is no roll to be grabbed. Continue to clamp the load to reach the correct clamp pressure. The green light means only that a target pressure is reached, not that load is secure. Laser Switch Operation The laser switch turns ON and OFF an attachment mounted laser. The laser is aimed straight ahead to project the beam onto the load being handled. When handling stacked rolls, turn the switch on. Adjust attachment height prior to clamping for the laser to shine on the top edge of the bottom paper roll. Cab Light Operation The cab light indicates target clamp pressure is reached and the position of the clamp long arms. Green Light ON User specified target clamp pressure has been developed in the attachment clamp system. Green Light OFF Less than target clamp pressure in the attachment clamp system. Red Light ON Attachment long arms are positioned fully open. Red Light OFF Attachment long arms are positioned less than fully open. Maintenance WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, replace only with same type and rating for fuse. See Important Information for additional WARNINGS. Wear appropriate protective gear. Work must be performed by trained technicians only. Read this manual. Dispose of all solid and liquid waste properly.

27 Important Information WARNING: All operators must read and understand this section before use. WARNING: The Cab Light is not a safety device. It is intended to give the operator a visual indication that the pressure in a hydraulic circuit is above or below a target value. Misuse of this device can result in severe personal injury or death. WARNING: Operators/drivers must read and understand the Operation section of this Manual before being allowed to operate equipment. If the operator/driver does not understand any part of the Manual, a supervisor should be asked to explain. If it is still not understood the equipment should not be used. This equipment is intended for use by a trained and authorized operator only. WARNING: The operator is instructed in the Manual that the visual indicator in the Cab Light does not imply that any load in properly clamped, held or secure. Secure and safe handling of loads is the responsibility of the operator and is a function of other factors including properly engaging the load among other factors such as equipment maintenance and condition. The visual indicator means only that the pressure selected has been achieved. WARNING: Residual risk exists to bystanders and pedestrians in the work area. Do not operate this equipment near pedestrians or bystanders. Do not operate this equipment or attachment in any way not specifically described in this manual as the intended use and function. Operate only in a safe work area and in compliance with facility, local and national standards and rules. WARNING: Test Cascade Corp. equipment fully after installation and before returning equipment to service. Verify that the equipment operates as intended and as described in the Manual. WARNING: Daily Inspections are required by the operator before using Cascade Corp equipment. ) Inspect wires, hoses and connections for damage or wear. ) Operate the equipment in a secure environment, through its full range of function before using in a work environment. Verify that the Cab Light is ON or OFF at the specified traget pressure using a pressure gauge. If a problem is found, take the equipment out of service immediately and report the problem to a supervisor or qualified mechanic for assessment before returning the equipment to work. WARNING: Cascade Corp. fully evaluates the components and function of its accessories and attachments but does not evaluate the effects the accessories and attachments may have on a host system once installed. It is the industrial truck OEM or installer s responsibility to assess the effect of Cascade Corp equipment on specifications, stability, performance, operation and safe use of OEM equipment after the installation of Cascade accessories and attachments. Sound and Vibration A The Weighted Emission Sound Pressure Level (LpA) does not exceed 70 db(a). B The Value of Whole Body Vibration does not exceed 0, m/s. C The Value of Hand-Arm Vibration does not exceed, m/s. Daily Inspection Inspect all wires looking for frayed or pinched wires. Inspect all hydraulic hoses and fittings for leaks. In a safe environment, verify pressure setting is correct by clamping on a clamp force indicator. Verify proper operation of each function. How to Disable Use proper Tag out process so that it is clear to any operator that the indicator light has been disabled. To diable, disconnect the power cable at the truck power source. Decommissioning When possible take advantage of the Cascade buyback policy to ensure maximum recycling and proper disposal to minimize environmental impact. Otherwise, dispose of non recyclable content in accordance with local laws. Note that the recycle content of this attachment is very high.
