3 APEM s custom and integrated assemblies... save time and cost...and more! Automobile rear door lock module; In this application, the customer required a custom detented slide switch module to plug into their mating assembly. APEM produced this complete module using standard switch contacts pre-wired to socket pins and a custom molded plastic housing and actuator. Automobile blower control: A large automotive customer required a custom switch mechanism built into their complex assembly. APEM produced a printed circuit board with integral rotary selector switch and molded plastic guide that drops into the assembly and meets all of their specifications. Gasoline dispensing station: This customer asked APEM to produce a complete operating panel to interface with their dispensing machinery. APEM produced the panel with appropriate silk screen labeling and standard APEM switches in accordance with the customer s requirements.

4 Bank query panel: In this application, the customer was using standard switches that required wiring and assembly to a plastic front panel obtained from another supplier. APEM redesigned this as an integrated assembly with the switches, actuators and front panel completely assembled. This design resulted in significant cosmetic improvement of the product as well as savings in parts and assembly time. Automobile horn assembly: Due to the space requirements of air bag safety systems in automobile steering wheels, APEM designed a subassembly consisting of a p.c. board with 4 integral switches, a flexible p.c. connection cable and a connector. The 4 integral switches replaced 4 individually mounted and wired switches. Automobile door lock modules: The original customer s design incorporated 2 printed circuit. boards, several mounted components and switches, a motor retaining bracket and a flexible p.c. connector. APEM redesigned this assembly with an overmolded circuit including custom molded integrated switches and motor retainer. Left and right hand models were supplied to the customer.
