The KOBELCO demolition machine with common use type main boom has been used at many demolition sites, gaining a steady acclaim. By changing the attachments, a single machine is able to achieve optimal specifications that match the work progress and needs of the site. This dedicated machine can carry out demolition work efficiently. The machine has also adopted the NEXT attachment, which is a new-generation attachment that completely defies traditional concepts. This attachment was developed with a unique structure that enables transport and assembly to be completed safely with just a few steps, achieving an astonishing time reduction for work setups compared to previous attachments. This is also advantageous for reducing labor and costs. In addition, the base machine has also evolved to show top-level basic performance. The excellent fuel consumption and machine durability leads to reduced machine maintenance costs, which indicate greater value for the owner. KOBELCO's SK350DLC building demolition machine with common use type main boom enables more hours to be used for the main work process, and this cutting-edge model will now be introduced to work sites around the world. Focus on operation rate resulting in a machine with common use type main boom Previous building demolition machines had a structure that basically did not allow attachments to be exchanged, meaning one complete machine was required for each specification. Having machines each dedicated to its specialty was useful onsite, but this meant that the operation rate was low and users were required to own multiple machines. KOBELCO's solution was to develop a machine structure that enabled one machine to be adapted to multiple specifications. Our solution took form in the shape of the machine with common use type main boom. The NEXT system, created with focus on the site A machine with common use type main boom is transported by separating the main body and its attachments, requiring a large amount of time for setup after arriving onsite. KOBELCO studied in detail how the assembly work could be completed safely in a short time. We threw out the previous fixed concepts about attachments and developed an innovative attachment that incorporated our various ideas, resulting in the NEXT system. 3 Assembly and disassembly, Transportability Work setups done quickly and safely! The new-generation NEXT demolition attachment NEXT attachment The new-generation NEXT demolition attachment for the demolition machine with common use type main boom was designed by KOBELCO without being limited by existing concepts. Each boom attachment has a block structure that simplifies assembly/disassembly and transport, and the attachments employ our original NEXT joint system. The piping can be connected at ground level, and the steps for attachment assembly/disassembly from pressure release to pin fixing can be completed safely in a short time. NEXT joint system KOBELCO's original joint system was developed by testing the assembly/disassembly process extensively. The boom attachment can be connected just by hooking the upper (backside) pin and fixing with the split pins on the lower side (bottom side). Upper pin Simple hooking structure (Large diameter jib cylinder) Connection hook Side-mounted hydraulic piping All attachment joints have the hydraulic piping mounted on the side, adopting a quick-coupler system for connecting sections. There is no need to climb up the back of attachments when connecting or detaching piping, and all steps can be performed quickly and safely from the ground. Upper pin Hook Left/right split pins do not need to be removed Attachment height during transport [NEXT ultra long attachment specification] The 3-piece NEXT ultra long attachment is designed with the jib cylinder and arm cylinder crossed over the short inter boom, and the back of the arm is flat. The height while in the stored state has been lessened to approx. 2 m to lower the entire height during transport. 4 Workability Low fuel consumption Boom attachments can be changed easily, enabling a high machine operation rate Fuel costs can be suppressed with the outstanding low fuel consumption and mode selection specification This long-length attachment enables demolition work at high places to be performed from the ground. The maximum work height is at the top level for this class, and this machine can be used for the demolition of common buildings up to seven stories high. The length can be shortened by removing the inter boom. New environmental engine Maximum work height A new type of electronically controlled engine with high power and low fuel consumption is installed. PM and NOx emissions are suppressed through the engine s high combustion efficiency, exhaust gas after-treatment equipment, and urea SCR system. The engine also conforms to EPA Tier IV Final regulations. 21.0m 6.1m arm specification, 3.5m inter boom Approx. 17.5m 6.1m arm specification without inter boom Approx. Note: The measurement is for the arm top pin position. The separate boom specification has a wide working range, making work around the foot area easy. The impressive maximum work depth exceeds 6 m, and a large diameter jib cylinder is attached to the boom bottom side to ensure substantial lifting power. This specification is suitable for demolition of the lower floors, underground floors, and foundations of buildings. Maximum work depth Large front attachment A 3-ton class large crusher can be attached to the ultra long attachment specification. Powerful crushing can be performed at high floor levels for more efficient work progress. The separate boom specification can handle up to 4-ton class crushers. Crusher limit weight specification 6,320mm 3,000kg 4,000kg AIS (Auto Idle Stop) This idling stop function eliminates wasteful fuel consumption while waiting between operations. The engine stops automatically when the operation lever continues to remain in the locked state. Note: The measurement is for the arm top pin position. In addition to gauges and information such as fuel consumption, maintenance, working radius/boom angle, and rear view camera images, the selected attachment mode and mounted front attachment are also displayed. 5 Safety Reliability, Durability, and Maintainability Evolved safety functions to protect operators concentrating on operations Highly durable structure to show enduring excellent performance in hard operations New cab interference prevention system High-strength boom block [] Dedicated arm for the ultra long attachment The cab interference prevention system is equipped as the standard, which sounds an alarm and stops the machine automatically when the front attachment comes close to the cab during operations. Because current positions can be detected with high accuracy, the attachment can be moved at close range near the cab, resulting in increased work ranges at the foot area for the separate boom specification as well. Operations can be conducted more smoothly while also ensuring the operator's safety. System configuration Braking is controlled by calculating the front attachment position and orientation from the boom angle, inter boom angle, arm angle, and idler link working angle. System operation If part of the front attachment, such as the nibbler blade, or the arm top section approaches the cab to a certain distance, an interference alarm is sounded before any contact can occur, and the machine automatically comes to a gradual stop. Each boom block that comprise the ultra long attachment has a single seamless steel sheet on the backside, where a large load is applied. Welding sections, where stress is often concentrated, have been reduced to create a structure that resists the accumulation of fatigue over time, ensuring high reliability and durability. Various reinforcements and protective structures are incorporated in the arm section to prevent damage from contact or flying debris. The boom back plate has a single steel plate structure. In order to eliminate any welding that intersects in the longitudinal direction where stress is applied, the new structure has no inner reinforcement material (stiffener). Guided reinforced bucket cylinder guard with box-type structure Electric wiring with optimized routing and full cover for preventing disconnection The piping on the side of the boom continues to be fixed with a tapped block welding structure. Tip-over warning device with vertical/lateral judgment The working radius and stability are calculated from the position of the attachment, and the operator is warned with a buzzer (continuous sound) when the attachment moves to a working range where the machine could tip over. Vertical direction Lateral Swing angle sensor direction The tip over risk area will vary according to the upper orientation since the safety allowance will vary depending on the swing angle. The maximum working radius is larger when facing the vertical direction. New DS cab The adjoining edge of the top and front windows are free of view-obstructing pillars, and radial type grid guards are installed on three sides. The clear field of view makes it easy to confirm safety in front of and above the machine. The cab guards can be opened and closed without tools, and the glass can be cleaned easily. Newly installed vertical open/close roller shades that can be stopped at any position. The cab's entire height is suppressed by using a downsized and built-in wiper motor. Suspension rings are equipped by modifying to the shape of the boom side plate. A bracket to fix the piping is bolted instead of welded to the boom side plate protruding from the back side when fixing piping to the boom back side. Bucket cylinder hose arranged to prevent getting caught Hydraulic oil filter clog detector Clogging is detected by the pressure difference at the filter entrance and exit, and warnings are displayed on the color multi-display. Hydraulic equipment trouble can be prevented by taking action before contaminants enter the hydraulic oil tank. New hydraulic oil filter Glass filtration material with outstanding cleaning ability and durability is used. 1-way call (loudspeaker system) Clear audio quality is achieved by using a microphone with high sensitivity. Swing flasher Travel alarm The alarm cautions workers in the area that the machine is traveling. Optional Debris guard The guard prevents debris from slipping toward the back. This is standard for the NEXT ultra long attachment. Air cleaner (double element) The double filter structure and large capacity prevent dust from being sucked in. Automatic oiling system for attachment The attachment is automatically oiled at specified times. Eliminates the trouble of oiling before starting work. Lower box for demolition tools A large storage box for storing tools is provided.
