(SBE, Section 3), for an annual cumulative amount not to exceed $73,000.00, for a period of one-year with the option to extend for two additional one-year periods. PURPOSE: SAHA and its affiliate properties require moving and storage services for resident relocation and office moves. The frequency of this service will vary depending upon resident and business needs. FINANCIAL IMPACT: The annual cost for moving and storage services is not expected to exceed an annual cumulative amount of $73, and will be funded through the approved operating budgets. SUMMARY: On January 13, 2012, SAHA issued a "Request for Proposals" (RFP) # for Moving and Storage Services, which closed on February 22, The RFP was published on our website, E-procurement, La Prensa, the Express News and various other venues (See Advertisement List). A total of four (4) proposals were received in response to the RFP: Arrow Moving & Storage Co., Inc., Coleman American, Grabel Movers and Scobey Moving & Storage. All proposals were evaluated on experience, fleet information, quality control, price and the strength of the Section 3 and SWMBE Plans. After the initial evaluation of the submitted proposals, SAHA requested Best and Final Offers from the four (4) proposers. Based upon the above factors, Arrow Moving & Storage, Inc. (SBE, Section 3) is the highest-rated, responsive and responsible contractor, and is therefore recommended for award. (See Bid Tabulation and Price Analysis). This Contractor is certified as a SBE by the South Central Texas Regional Certification Agency and has also been certified as a Section 3 business by SAHA. In addition, Arrow Moving & Storage, Inc. (SBE, Section 3) indicates they will hire up to seven (7) Section 3 residents to meet their Section 3 Program Good Faith Effort Compliance Plan. The company provides courteous, professional, and reliable service paying attention to detail. These characteristics make for superior customer service. Arrow Moving & Storage can move across county lines or across state lines. Every move has the same dedication to high quality customer service, no matter which location you choose. They have moved fine art, as well as highly sensitive medical equipment at hospitals. They currently have offices in San Antonio, TX, Cheyenne, WY, Colorado Springs, CO, Oklahoma City, OK, and Salt Lake City, UT.

(SBE, SECTION 3) FOR MOVING AND STORAGE SERVICES, FOR AN ANNUAL CUMULATIVE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $73,000.00, FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR WITH THE OPTION TO EXTEND FOR TWO ADDITIONAL ONE-YEAR PERIODS. WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of San Antonio, Texas requires Moving & Storage Services to maintain safe, healthy living environments for our residents; and WHEREAS, a Request For Proposals was issued on January 13, 2012 and subsequently closed on February 22, 2012; and WHEREAS, four (4) companies submitted their proposals to RFP, # for evaluation by the due date; and WHEREAS, after evaluated Arrow Moving & Storage Co., Inc. (SBE, Section 3) was the highest rated proposer; and WHEREAS, staff requests that the Board of Commissioners authorize the President and CEO or her designee to execute all documents to enter into this contract. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners of SAHA hereby: 1) Approves Resolution 5301, authorizing award of the contract to Arrow Moving & Storage Services for an annual amount not to exceed $73,000.00, for a period of one year, for an amount not to exceed $73, annually, with an option to extend the contract at the election of SAHA for up to two additional years; 2) Authorizes the President and CEO or her designee to execute all necessary documents associated with this contract.
