2 Linear Bushin G is a hih load capacity type linear motion rollin uide which achieves endless linear motion of an external cylinder alon a shaft with rooved raceways. It is a very simple and compact linear bushin with a lare load capacity. The shaft with rooved raceways can be selected from two types: the solid shaft type G and the hollow shaft type GT. The hollow shaft type is suitable for applications in which pipin, wirin or ventilation is needed. 4 Ratin Accuracy The load ratins of Linear Bushin G are defined for downward load. 5 Radial Internal learance The radial internal clearance of Linear Bushin G is approx. m. In the shell flane type, radial internal clearance is slihtly smaller than that of standard type. But, in special cases, a transition fit (J7) may be used. In case of the external cylinder with shell type flane, a clearance of over. based on the nominal outside is required. Mountin examples of external cylinder Precautions for Use Accessories Lubrication Both rease and oil lubrication are applicable. In case of rease lubrication, use of quality lithium-soap base rease is recoended for eneral applications. ixin depth of mountin bolt of external cylinder The fixin depth of mountin bolt of external cylinder should be less than the maximum depth shown in the dimension table. The fixin female thread hole in the external cylinder is a throuh hole. Therefore, if the fixin depth of mountin bolt is too lare, the mountin bolt will contact and push the shaft, and accuracy and life will be affected adversely. Support Block Support blocks are prepared for supportin the ends of "shaft with rooved raceways" of Linear Bushin G. or details, consult. G Multiple external cylinders in close distance When two or more external cylinders (standard or with shell type flane) are used in close distance in the same housin, the distance between the centers of external cylinders should be over three times of the lenth of external cylinders. If the external cylinders are used in close distance, consult. 7 LBLBLBBB Linear Bushin is a hih precision linear motion rollin uide which travels alon a shaft to achieve endless linear motion. In the external cylinder, a retainer, steel balls, etc. are compactly incorporated. Wide variations in size are available for selections suitable for each application. Low frictional linear motion Linear Bushin Steel balls are accurately uided by a retainer, so low frictional resistance and stable linear motion can be achieved. Simple replacement of conventional plain bushins It is easy to use Linear Bushins instead of conventional plain bushins, because both types are used with a round shaft, and no major redesin is necessary. Wide variations or each dimensional series, standard, adjustable clearance and open types are available with and without seals, so the best linear bushin for the application may be selected. Stainless steel type Linear Bushins made of stainless steel are also available. This type is suitable for applications where corrosion resistance is important. Hih and precision classes are available. o symbol Adjustable clearance type A slot in a lonitudinal direction is made on the external cylinder in order to adjust the clearance. When this type is used with a housin which can adjust the bore, the radial internal clearance can be adjusted without fit selection between the linear bushin and shaft. It is possible to ive a preload. 9 Accuracy class Hih o symbol o symbol P The two seal types incorporate seals with superior dust protection performance at both ends of the external cylinder for preventin intrusion of forein matter. The maximum allowable temperature for seals is. This type has one or two fewer ball circuits than the standard type, creatin an open section to allow clearance for a shaft support. The open type bushin is coonly used with lon shafts when one or more support blocks are needed to reduce shaft deflection or sa. The width of the support blocks can be determined to match the () dimension of fan shaped open section shown in the table of dimensions. 9 Ratin Precautions for Use Suarized descriptions of load ratins of Linear Bushin are iven below. or details of load ratin definitions and load calculations, see "General description". load ratin The basic dynamic load ratin is defined as the constant load both in direction and manitude under which a roup of identical Linear Bushins are individually operated and 9% of the units in the roup can travel x meters free from material damae due to rollin contact fatiue. learance Adjustable clearance and open type Linear Bushins can be adjusted for radial internal clearance if they are used with a housin which can adjust the bore. However, if the deree of the adjustment is excessive, deformation at the contact points between steel balls and shaft or external cylinder becomes lare, resultin in short life. Therefore, it is recoended to prepare a shaft with a specified fit tolerance and adjust the radial internal clearance to zero or minimal preload by matchin the individual components. The clearance is adjusted while checkin with a dial ae. The adjustment is enerally completed when the shaft is rotated in an unloaded condition and liht resistance is caused by the rotation of shaft. In this condition, the radial internal clearance becomes zero or minimal preload. or open type Linear Bushins havin three rows of ball circuits, clearance adjustment can not be made. load ratin The basic static load ratin is defined as the static load that ives a prescribed constant contact stress at the center of the contact area between the rollin element and raceway receivin the maximum load. Relationships between load ratins and the position of ball circuits ratins of Linear Bushin are affected by the position of the ball circuits. In the table of dimensions, two types of load ratins are shown correspondin to the load directions and steel ball circuit positions as shown in i. and i.. In i. the load direction is in line with the steel ball circuit position and this direction is referred to as load in the table of dimensions. In eneral, the load ratins for this direction are also used, when the load direction is indeterminate or the steel ball circuit position in relation to the load direction cannot be determined. In i., the load direction is pointed at the center of two ball circuits and this direction is referred to as load in the table of dimensions. In eneral, a larer load can be received in this case compared with load. i. i. i. xample of clearance adjustment Raceway surface Since Linear Bushins operate with a shaft as a raceway surface, the shaft should be heat-treated and round. Recoended surface hardness and rouhness of the shaft are shown in Table, and also recoended minimum effective hardenin depth of the raceway is shown in Table. 10 Lubrication Linear Bushins can be used with oil or rease lubrication. A ood quality lithium-soap base rease is recoended for rease lubrication. When rotational motion is present Linear Bushins can only be operated in linear motion and can not be rotated. When linear motion in short stroke lenth and rotation are both required, Stroke Rotary Bushin (See pae -7.) is recoended. If linear motion in lon stroke lenth and rotation are both required, a combination of Linear Bushin and eedle Roller Bearin as shown in i. is recoended. it Precautions for Mountin Table shows the recoended fit tolerances for Linear Bushin. The fit between Linear Bushin and housin is usually clearance fit. or some special applications, an interference fit may be required. or adjustable clearance or open type Linear Bushins, the followin recoendations apply. The shaft is finished smaller than the lower limit of the tolerance rane of the inscribed circle of the Linear Bushin, while the housin is finished larer than the upper limit of the tolerance rane of the outside of the external cylinder of the Linear Bushin. If two Linear Bushins are used in parallel, by considerin the load distribution, the arranement shown in i. is recoended. This type can not be adjusted for radial internal clearance. When press-fittin the Linear Bushin into the housin, do not hit the end plate. The correct method is to radually push the external cylinder with a ji for assemblin. (See i. 7.) Then the external cylinder is fixed in the axial direction with a stop rin or a stopper plate. When insertin the shaft into the Linear Bushin assembled into a housin, radually and ently insert a shaft avoidin to ive impact on the steel balls and retainers.
