INSTALLATION GUIDE Thank you for choosing the EBARA Hydro Booster Unit. Ebara takes every caution manufacturing the product for safe use by customer. However, handling this pump in an inappropriate manner may reduce its functional capacity and result in an accident. This instruction manual explains the proper procedures concerning the installation, operation and maintenance and inspections on this pump. OPERATING CONDITIONS FOR WHICH PUMPS ARE DESIGNED These motor-driven pumps assure long life and consistent performance if used according to the instructions given.

COMPACT Compact - PC can be used to increase pressure in general, for domestic water boosting (given their silent running, they can even be installed inside the home), small-scale garden watering, vehicle washing and handling of clean water. 1.4 OPERATING CONDITIONS FOR WHICH PUMPS ARE NOT DESIGNED Pumps cannot be used to handle dirty water, water containing acids or bases and corrosive liquids in general, water with temperatures higher than those mentioned in below, saltwater, flammable liquids and hazardous liquids in general. The motor-driven pumps must never be made to work without liquid. i.e. running dry without water. 2. SPECIFICATIONS 2.1. 3 3 PRESS CONTROL Carefully read the instructions before installation and using the device. The manufacturer declines any liability in the event of damage due to improper use or use under conditions other than those specified in the manual. The installation and operation of the device should also be in accordance with local requirements and accepted codes of good practice. 3.1 APPLICATIONS The Presscontrol is a pressure regulator with built-in dry-running protection designed for use with EBARA pumps. It is used for automatic operation of pumps in domestic water supply system in houses, apartments, banglos, garden watering, waterworks etc. 3.2 TECHNICAL DATA Ambient temperature Max. +60 C Max working temperature Max. +65 C Cut-in pressure* 1.5 bar Max working pressure Max. 10 bar Supply voltage 1 x 230 V +/-10%, 50 Hz Enclosure class IP 65 Dimensions See Fig. C Power on Pump on Failure Restart PRESSCONTROL HYDRAULIC ELECTRONIC SYSTEM Max 65 C Max 1 MPa (10 Bar) 230V~ Hz Max 16(8)A Max 1.5 kw Fig. A * Device set to 1.2 Bar or 2.2 Bar are available on some special pump type and on request only. 3.3 APPLICATION & MODE OF OPERATION The presscontrol unit automatic control pump installed in the water systems, which:-replaces the traditional expansion vessel system-starts the pump automatically on demand. - the pump will stop when water is no longer being drawn off. - stop the pump in case of water shortage, thus protecting it from dry running.get rid of any water hammering effects 3.4 INSTALLATION The Presscontrol must be fitted on the discharge side of the pump. See installation example. When pumping from a well, borehole, etc., a non-return valve must always be fitted to the suction pipe of the pump. It is recommended to connect the pump/presscontrol to the piping system by means of unions. Before using device, make sure that the pump is primed and there are no problems with suction connection.

4 3.5 ELECTRICAL CONNECTION The electrical connection and protection should be carried out in accordance with local regulations and carry out by competent technician. Make sure switch off electricity supply before making any connections to the terminal box of the Presscontrol. Connections should be made as shown in Fig. B 3.6 STARTING AND OPERATION Fig. A. shows the front panel of the Presscontrol. The function of three indicator lights and the button on the panel described as follows: Power (green) is on when the Presscontrol is switched on. On (yellow) is on when the pump is running. Failure (red) is on in case of operating faults. Restart Button for resetting of fault indications. When the Presscontrol has been installed and the electrical connection has been carried out, switch on the electricity supply. The green indicator light (Power on) illuminates. The pump will start when the electricity supply to the pumpset is switched on, a yellow Pump-on light indicates that pump is running; this remains on for few seconds, until the system is pressurized. If the pump is not delivering water within 10 seconds, the dry-running protection will stop the pump. To avoid this, press the Reset button until the pump starts delivering water (the pump has been primed). Remarks: Please refer to Installation and Operating Instructions Manual of PC device for futher details where possible. Note: The pump is not allowed to run without delivering water for a period longer than that stated in the Installation and Operating Instructions for the pump.
