Public omment 5. pproval of inutes, October 17, 2017 (ttachment ) 6. ational igh agnetic ield aboratory (ag ab)-short stay facility (ttachments 1-5) lorida State University is requesting approval of its project to create a short stay facility for ag ab users staying one week or less. y providing a small-scale hotel, users can stay in close proximity to their research, allowing them to maximize the time spent at the ag ab. The 4,352sf two-story facility (covering 2352 of ground) will contain 8 hotel-type rooms, capable of housing up to 12 persons. In addition to the bedrooms, it will contain common kitchen, dining, and work areas. The facility will be located on the north side of the ag ab, facing the lake. It will be connected directly to the ag ab lobby and will be managed and maintained by the ag ab. The construction will be done in one phase is expected to take about 9 months. Public omment one. 5. pproval of inutes, ugust 9, 2016 R eeting Patrick oy offered a motion to approve the ugust 9, 2016 minutes. heryl call seconded the motion which passed unanimously. 6. anfoss ence Request The ommittee reviewed site photos and the placement of the partially constructed black 6- foot tall vinyl chain link fence. fter discussion, the ommittee agreed to approve the construction of the fence as described on the submitted plan subject to the following: 1. ll remaining old fencing along Roberts venue must be removed; 2. The fence at the corner at Roberts venue and orth Paul irac must be relocated and pulled back behind the landscaping in order to provide an unobstructed view of the Innovation Park monument sign from Roberts Road; 3. The fence must be located behind the landscaping along orth Paul irac rive on the west side of the property, and along ast Paul irac on the south side of the property; 4. o driveway gates shall be installed at this time. anfoss will submit to the R any future plans for approval prior for the installation of any driveway gates. Such plans shall address vehicle queuing requirements. Patrick oy offered a motion to approve the plan as modified. heryl call seconded the motion which passed unanimously. 7. The purpose of the building is to accommodate overnight visitors, particularly users of the ag ab and other SU facilities at Innovation Park. The building will be attached to the ag ab and house up to 12 persons at one time, in 8 hotel type rooms. There will also be common areas for dining, preparing food, and working. 1b. This square footage of the addition is 4,352 gsf. It is on two floors. It covers 2,352 gsf of ground. 7. The construction documents are being finished by the end of this year. The construction manager is lbritton Williams and the project will be bid in anuary. We expect to have them under contract by arch 1 with construction expected to start pril 1. With the advance written approval of the ommittee, signs may be placed in the front yard landscape strip if constructed and designed to be a part of the landscaping element. Otherwise, no sign in the front yard setback area shall be permitted. Outside Storage Painted signs, signs on the roofs of uildings, and flashing or moving signs are prohibited. o signs shall be placed or externally illuminated in such a manner as to cast glare on neighboring Sites or in such a manner as to impede the safe movement of traffic. ll signs shall be designed, erected, altered, moved and maintained in accordance with plans and specifications submitted to and approved by the ommittee in writing. o temporary uilding, structure or other improvement shall be permitted on any Site except during the period of construction of the permanent uilding and then only with the advance written approval of the ommittee. o outside storage shall be permitted within the minimum uilding setback areas nor shall any outside storage be permitted in the front yard of any Site.
