SRTO < SYST SRTO > [nfiniti rive ode Selector] SYST SRTO SRTO nfiniti rive ode Selector O: ll the vehicles are equipped with an T drive mode selector which switches a vehicle mode among STR, SORT, O, and SOW with the flick of a switch. The nfiniti drive mode selector changes a vehicle mode to the engine (including O pedal), transmission, 4WS, and the active trace control function. S-2

OOT RTS < SYST SRTO > [nfiniti rive ode Selector] omponent escription O: art rive mode select switch / auto amp. ombination meter T 4WS main control unit S control unit S actuator and electric unit ccelerator pedal actuator rive ode Select Switch escription Outputs an O/O state of STR, SORT, O, or SOW mode to the / auto amp. Receives an O/O state of each mode from the drive mode select switch and transmits the switch signal to T, combination meter, 4WS main control unit, and S control unit via communications. isplays a mode state on the vehicle information display, based on the mode state received from the / auto amp. Receives a mode signal from T and controls throttle angle characteristics and torque. Selects a shift pattern, based on a mode state received from the / auto amp. Transmits a mode state received from the / auto amp. to. ontrols the steering characteristics of the front and rear wheels, based on a mode state received from the / auto amp. ontrols the active trace control function, based on a mode state received from the / auto amp. ontrols accelerator pedal feedback force of the accelerator pedal actuator, based on a O pedal reaction force control signal received from. ctivates the S actuator, according to an active trace control function control signal received from the S control unit. pplies feedback force to the accelerator pedal, based on an accelerator pedal feedback force control signal received from the S control unit. O: S contact rotary type drive mode select switch is set on the upper part of the center console. eing connected to / auto amp., this switch allows to select STR, SORT, O, or SOW mode. S-4

SYST < SYST SRTO > [nfiniti rive ode Selector] SYST nfiniti rive ode Selector nfiniti rive ode Selector : System escription SYST R O: The / auto amp. receives an operational state of the drive mode select switch and transmits a mode signal (See below.) to each unit via communications. - STR: O/O - SORT: O/O - O: O/O - SOW: O/O T transmits a mode state to and S control unit via communications, based on a mode signal received from the / auto amp. transmits an O pedal control signal to the S control unit via communications. The S control unit controls pedal reaction force of the accelerator pedal actuator via TS communications, based on an O pedal control signal received from. The S control unit receives a mode signal from the / auto amp. and changes the characteristics of the active trace control function via communications with the S actuator and electric unit. OTRO SRTO The T drive mode selector switches a vehicle mode with the flick of a switch (rive mode select switch) mounted on upper part of the center console and changes the control characteristics of the powertrain and chassis. The vehicle characteristics are controlled from the STR mode ( position of the drive mode select switch) to any mode listed below: - SORT: hanging the control characteristics of the engine transmission, 4WS, and active trace control function enables the use of high engine performance regions to obtain a light and crisp feel of the steering wheel. - O: uel economy is enhanced by changing the control characteristics of the engine transmission and using an O pedal. - SOW: hanging the engine characteristics enables the obtainment of higher driving performance on roads with low coefficient of friction. : applicable tems ontrol ode SORT O SOW ngine Transmission Selects shift pattern. ontrol S2888 hanges throttle angle characteristics and controls torque. ontrols the lighting of the O drive indicator lamp. (Only O turns O.) 4WS *1 hanges the steering characteristics of the front and rear wheels. ombination meter ops up a mode state. S S-5

SYST < SYST SRTO > [nfiniti rive ode Selector] tems ontrol ode SORT O SOW ontrol ctive trace control function *2 hanges the characteristics of the active trace control function. O pedal *2 ontrols feedback force of the accelerator pedal. *1: epends on vehicle specification. *2: The application of the active trace control function and O pedal is only for vehicles with (distance control assist). TRSSSO OTRO or further information on engine control, refer to -55, "nfiniti rive ode Selector : System escription". or further information on transmission control, refer to T-50, "ST TTR OTRO : System escription". O RV TOR This system supports O driving by controlling the O drive indicator lamp in the combination meter, according to an accelerator pedal depression during O mode. The O drive indicator lamp changes depending on the state of the fuel-efficient region, fuel-efficient limit region, or fuel-efficient region excess. Within the O drive region. riving condition O drive indicator O (reen) bout to exceed the O drive limit. * link (reen) * Outside the O drive region. O (Yellow) ow speed region [approx. 4 km/h (2.5 ) or less] and high speed region [approx. 120 km/h (74.5 ) or more]. O *: With O pedal 4WS OTRO SORT mode is introduced. n SORT mode, the steering characteristics of the front and rear wheels are switched to reduce load of steering wheel operation (steering angle) more than that in STR mode and enable smooth motion. TV TR OTRO UTO SORT mode is introduced. n SORT mode, the changing of brake control characteristics allows the driver to control the vehicle motion more than in STR mode. O OTRO This system supports O driving by applying a load to the accelerator pedal according to an accelerator pedal operation during O mode. Reaction force to the accelerator pedal can be switched in two settings between STR and W. edal feedback force to the accelerator pedal can be set to O, as necessary. (Switch the settings on the V screen.) O pedal control and O drive indicator lamp are interlocked each other to support O driving. or further information on O pedal control, refer to -55, "nfiniti rive ode Selector : System escription". OTO TR OTRO mode state of the T drive mode selector is displayed on the information display built in the meter. S-6

RUTO < SYST SRTO > [nfiniti rive ode Selector] RUTO nfiniti rive ode Selector O: O RV TOR OTRO O drive indicator lamp turns O under the following conditions. While driving at low speeds [3 (4.8 km/h) or less] or high speeds [90 (144 km/h) or more]. ntelligent cruise control is in operation. Selector lever is in R range. O OTRO When switching from O mode to the other mode by operating the drive mode select switch, O pedal reaction force is generated in common with O mode until the accelerator pedal is released. O pedal reaction force is not generated under the following conditions. - ntelligent cruise control is in operation. - ccelerator pedal is depressed quickly - Selector lever is in or R range. - O pedal reaction force setting is O. OT: O pedal control is only for vehicles with an intelligent pedal (distance control assist). OUTUT RTRSTS TR SWT O ngine output characteristics after switching mode by operating the drive mode select switch are as follows. - fter switching mode to a mode that engine output increase, engine output characteristics are changed by releasing the accelerator pedal. - fter switching mode to a mode that engine output decreases, engine output characteristics are changed immediately. When an accelerator angle is constant, engine output characteristics are as follows. - SORT > STR > O > SOW Output characteristics of each mode ontrol mode ngine output SORT STR O SOW ncrease ormal ecrease ecrease (ore reduction than O mode) S-8
