They perform in any conditions, wet or dry. these Paddock cleaners are also useful for collecting leaves, litter and cleaning water troughs. Why should you clean your paddock? For the horse owner and smallholder, collection of manure is one of the biggest headaches encountered. The average horse for instance will produce approximately 20kg of manure each day, that's 7.5 Tonnes annually. It's a problem which grows rapidly, and isn't easy to ignore. In the summer worm larvae can spread from the droppings to the grass in the paddock in only a couple of days. Manure from grazing animals, including horses, is high in nutrients (e.g. phosphorus and nitrogen) and also contains pathogens (e.g. cryptosporidium). The pathogens and viruses that occur in manure can cause animal health problems. Studies have shown that removal of faeces twice per week can reduce the parasite burden in horses by over 95% compared to no removal.
