3 Technology The highest Level of Energy Efficiency As a manufacturer of ventilation and air-conditioning plants, WOLF is able to conceive even booths with complex airflow requirements, so that your spray booth will be completely made by one hand and 100 percent optimized - also regarding energy consumption. Machinery complex with heat recovery and optionally with highly insulated oven machinery Rotary heat exchanger for heat and humidity recovery with high efficiency Air technology and heat recovery One of the great advantages of WOLF is the wide ventilation and air-conditioning programme by own production, providing the optimal conception for nearly each requirement. Essential is, for example, the right selection and dimensioning of heat recovery systems. In most cases, the approved plate exchanger modules are used. If also humidity is to be transferred, highly efficient rotary heat exchangers are used. However, energy efficiency means far more than using heat recovery systems. Control System and Regulation Modern mode programmes are controlling the optimal energy application for each kind of operation such as preparing, spraying, evaporating and drying. Single booth sections in large-space booths can be switched so that only the respective zone where paintwork is done is run with full air capacity. 3

4 Commercial Vehicles Painting Special Superstructures In this specialized company, commercial vehicles are professionally modified or provided with special superstructures. Finally, chassis and/or superstructures are painted acc. to customer s request. The spray booth (in masonry, 18 m long) is subdividable by roller doors into 2 sections (1/3 to 2/3). Ventilation in the smaller section is vertical, in the larger one diagonal, by 2 machineries side by side. 4

6 Commercial Vehicles Painting Special Commercial Vehicles This well-known manufacturer of dumping, disposal, pushing floor and special vehicles is working with two parallel largespace booths (20 x 5,5 x 6 m, each) with sectionally switched ventilation. 2 powerful machineries are assigned to each booth. Optionally either zone 1 or zone 2 is ventilated vertically. Alternatively, each booth can be ventilated diagonally over its whole length. The generous substructure - which can be walked upon - enables an especially comfortable filter exchange. 6

7 Trucks Passage free for new Outfit In this in total 22 m long booth of a paint and bodyshop, trucks and other large vehicles are painted. 2 fast sectional doors assure a speedy entrance and exit, a central roller door enables a subdivision into two completely independent sections. Also on open working bays, the prerequisites for high-quality results must be given. The pictures below right-hand show two open spraying zones with generously dimensioned vertical air guidance. 7

9 Trucks, Buses WOLF Spray Booth for Travelling and Line Buses For sturdy and high quality paintwork of buses, WOLF combi-booths in different designs are being used worldwide. The pictures show a large-space booth (24 m long, subdividable into 2 sections by roller doors), a preparation bay for buses with separating shutters beside a passage booth and a high booth for double-decker buses. 9

10 Commercial Vehicles Repair Paintwork of Rail Vehicles This 40 m long special large-space booth for tramway trains is subdividable into 3 single booths by electric roller doors. Clean air is supplied by large-surface filter ceilings with finest filter mats, paint mist is separated laterally by dry filters. The air capacity of the booth is m 3 /h, the air inlet plant is equipped with a humidification. By the working platforms movable in three levels over the whole length of the large-space booth, the sprayers are very flexible. Lighting, extraction and air guidance of this special track construction machine are optimized to the massive rail vehicles. 10

12 Machine Parts Special Coating for Offshore Wind-driven Wheels Especially the heavy offshore wind wheel gears are produced by this North German engine building company. The gear cases are painted in 2 parallel spraying lines with zone circuit (4 spraying zones) in a separate hall section. Since wind power plants are exposed to extreme weather conditions, an extremely high-grade protective layer is applied. 12

The pumps are brought into the booth by means of a bridge crane. For this purpose, the booth roof is opened automatically in the middle. 13

The diagonally ventilated spray booth (13 x 4 x 3,5 m) offers enough space for the bulky parts which are brought in by manual sliding trolleys. The machineries are arranged on a steel platform above the booth, very compact and easy to maintain. 14

15 Special Paint for Food Stirrers In this combi-booth (13 x 5 m, diagonally ventilated), machine parts - here for example large stirrers for a chocolate factory - are prepared with high-grade paint for their use. The large-scale booth is completed by a smaller combi-booth with manual suspension conveyor. This double booth assures an optimal throughput at minimal energy expenditure to the engine builder from North Rhine-Westphalia. The machineries of the booth are placed on a steel platform above the booth. 15

The enormously heavy workpieces are moved without efforts by heavy-duty ceiling conveyor with a manual sliding system. In this booth, exclusively water paints are applied. 16

17 Motors in Passage Also this Russian manufacturer has decided on a continuous booth by WOLF for painting his Diesel engines. Beside spray booth and oven, the plant is equipped with a Power & Free heavy-duty conveyor system. The conveyor is working in a 12 minutes cycle and is rated for a parts weight of up to one ton. The energy-saving programmes and the efficient heat recovery reduce the energy consumption to a minimum. 17

In the 11 m long combi-booth and the oven (also 11 m long, placed behind the booth), even the impressively large units find enough space. A WOLF combi-booth with closable ceiling opening for crane feeding and a combi-booth with additional oven for feeding by manual conveyor are in operation. 20

The booth shown is one of three WOLF large-space booths of the engine builder and is used mainly for painting tubbing formwork. This vertically ventilated combi-booth with generously glazed folding gates measures 13 x 6 x 6 m (l x w x h), the high-performance machinery is placed beside the booth. 21

22 Powder Coating Surfaces for Agricultural Machines Agricultural machines are this engine building company s passion. For the highly stressed surface, the company relies on a powder coating plant by WOLF with 3-zones pretreatment. The up to one ton heavy and up to 6 m long parts are transported through the booth by a Power & Free heavy-duty conveyor system. 22

23 The Sturdy Surface In this combined wet paint and powder coating plant with a 5 chamber / 8 basin pretreatment plant, high-grade parts for railway industry, exhibition stands and building facades are painted. Powder application is effected fully automatically, the wet paint is applied manually. The workpieces are up to 6 m long and up to 600 kg heavy. They are transported by a Power & Free conveyor in a 6 minutes cycle. In this powder coating plant with pretreatment in Slovenia, forest cable winches and agricultural machine parts up to a size of 2 x 1,7 m and a weight of 600 kg are coated. 23
