4 Page 4 Volvo Construction Equipment Introduces New 2.0 Updates for Wheel Loaders L60H, L70H and L90H These loaders have been updated with the latest innovative technology, promoting greater productivity and fuel efficiency. Ready to tackle a range of applications with the reliability and quality expected from a Volvo wheel loader. Product Update Highlights: Power train New lock-up transmission (Available for L70H and L90H): Wheel loaders L70H and L90H are available with the next level of transmission with lock-up torque converter. The lock-up torque converter creates a direct mechanical connection between the engine and transmission preventing internal loss in the converter and up to 20% greater fuel efficiency. Smart control: New function which optimizes the harmony between the engine and hydraulics reducing the risk of wheel spin or stalling the machine when filling the bucket by distributing power to the working hydraulics. Since more power is distributed to the hydraulics the lifting time is reduced which shortens the reversing distances in short cycle applications. The function is active in first and second gear. New Slide out coolers: The hydraulic oil cooler and the AC- condenser are mounted on a slide out frame. The coolers are easily pulled out for quick cleaning and give an excellent access for cleaning the engine radiator. New larger hydraulic oil cooler: A new hydraulic oil cooler with 50% larger cooling area improves the cooling capacity and lowers the hydraulic oil temperature. New design of the STD lifting frame and a casted GDF-link: A new standard lifting frame and a casted GDF- link for L60H, L70H, and L90H are introduced with this update. This change of lift arm system is optimized to improve machine stability and fuel efficiency, less non-useful weight to lift and carry. The tipping load will increase by 2-3.4% depending on machine model. Wood s CRW has a new L60H, L70H and L90H on order for delivery this fall -- these models will include these updates. 6 Page 6 Employee Profile CRW welcomes Kirk Herbst to the Service Department in VT. Kirk is training with Jon Beckwith for the Service Manager position. Fortunately, Jon will be staying with CRW. He will be taking his expertise directly into the shop as a Working Shop Foreman. Kirk and his fiancée, Angelica, have moved to Vermont from Illinois. Kirk was born and raised in Iowa and attended college to obtain a psychology degree with the intention of becoming a teacher. His life took a different path and Kirk started working at Quad City Peterbilt. Most recently Kirk was with German Bliss, a Kubota dealership. Kirk and Angelica are living in Essex Junction, Vermont along with their 13-year-old shih tzu, Mocha, and their cat, Stormie. They will welcome Kirk s 2 ½-year-old son, Eldon soon -- he will be spending the summer with them. They are looking forward to exploring hiking and skiing options along with all the other outdoor adventures Vermont has to offer. River Cloud Farm, Barnet, VT Upon the recommendation from a friend that a Volvo Compact Excavator would be great for for the swales and berms he is building on his permaculture farm, Chris Cartter made his first call to Wood s CRW. After reviewing the planned application, the Volvo EC35D was determined to be the best fit.
