1 On line application Vehicles & Tourist card Travel trailers & 5th wheels are classified as Motorhomes for purposes of the application Please note for a truck towing a trailer or a Motor Home towing a vehicle, you will need to 2 applications, you will likely have to do them separately, a couple of days apart until the first one clears their system. Just in case, do the 180 day permit first, it is more complex and takes longer at the border just in case you cannot do the trailer for some reason. You may find you have to do the permit on one in your spouses name. If so, it is best if both names are on both registrations. Be prepared to pay $100 to $500 US on your credit card depending on vehicle/vehicles. Up to $400 is a deposit you will get back afterwards. You will receive your permit by DHL within 2 weeks, usually in 3 or 4 days after approval. You can have 1-10 year permit (motorhomes/trailers/5th wheels) & one 180 day permit (trucks, tow cars) each person. A small trailer/motorcycle/atv can be added to a truck or motor home permit. If added to as motor home permit that 10 year permit becomes good only for 180 days. If a truck & trailer, it is best if both vehicles are registered in the same name/names. If a vehicle shows a lien or company owner on the registration (even your own company) you will need to include a letter from the lien holder or company owner, giving permission for the vehicle to be taken into Mexico. Have a credit card, registration & passport ready Pre-Scan images of your passport page, all vehicle registrations and/or titles JPEG or PDF format Case 1: Class A, C, B, Trailers & 5th wheels. Trucks are done separately. Note, Trucks & Trailers should be registered in the same names. Ok if both spouses are on registration. If not you may require your marriage certificate. Case 2: Trucks & TOADS, large motorcycles. Note you may require a separate 180 permit for a larger motorcycle and it may have to be done in your spouses name as you are only allowed one 180 permit and one 10 year permit per person.

2 Notes: Do not do your permit on line if you have a criminal record. Truck campers are a special case. Basically if the camper is separately licensed as they are in some jurisdictions, you will need a separate 10 year permit on the camper itself (Case 1 below) and a 180 day permit on the truck. If it is not, it is treated as cargo and you only need to get a permit for the Truck carrying it (Case 2). You should not try to register both the truck & camper as an integrated RV with a 10 year permit. It is not legal. You may get away with it if you remove the camper jacks. ATV's, motorcycles & trailers. These can be added to a 10 year motor home permit or a truck permit. In either case the permit time will go to 1`80 days. You may add any combo of 3. You need the VIN's for all of them. During truck or motor home registration you will see a slide button for trailer. This refers to a cargo or flat bed trailer not an RV type trailer despite the image shown. I have seen people get away with registering a truck & travel trailer or truck & 5th wheel under a single permit by using this, however it is not legal and may cause you issues if stopped. 4 Click on Begin Application

5 CASE 1 : Motorhome, Trailer, 5th Wheel, Class C or B

6 Agree to terms & conditions on next 2 screens (not shown) Fill in document info, make sure you use the correct country

7 Fill in Personal info. Write down the folio number

8 Vehicle Info. Double check your VIN (serial) number is correct. Select "Otros" if your brand is not listed. Only hit trailer or recreational vehicle if you are carry an ATV, motorcycle, towing a cargo or flatbed trailer. If so you will prompted for VIN's & info on any of those and they will added to your permit.

9 Don't go crazy on this screen, don't say more than one computer (don't count tablets, etc). Tools are power tools.

10 Upload your scanned passport page & registration or Title. Use "Attach" Green icon and check with preview yellow icon after.

11 You will see a page of survey questions to answer. Do not use the insurance they offer. After that you should see a summary screen. There is more than shows in this shot, at the bottom click the confirm box if everything is correct, double check VIN again. Confirm data then press "PAY" button. Don't freak out, its pesos.

12 Fill in your credit card info and hit "pay"

13 Confirmation screen, print it & hit "finish"

14 Case 2: Trucks & TOADS Go to hit EN at upper right.

15 OPEN UP A NEW TAB, & go to Select "EN" at upper right

16 Fill in personal info, chances are you will not have to fill in the resident document info, make sure your name is the same as shows in your passport

17 Continue to fill form:

18 Hit the required save button and OK if correct, you will see this screen, print it out, record authorization number first, just in case.

19 You will need to take the form you just printed to Mexico with you

20 Now return to select ingles, and work your way through to this screen. Select "foreign vehicle"

21 Fill in info, note location to insert folio number you just obtained.

22 Fill in Personal Info

23 Fill in Vehicle info Double check VIN. Note trailer option. If you have a travel trailer or 5th wheel, select "no". This is for a cargo or boat trailer, etc despite the image. If you have at ATV or motorcycle and/or a trailer to carry either you select the yes options here. You will be prompted for VIN numbers on those separately after.

24 Here is where they try to sell you insurance, don't do it

25 Upload your scanned passport & Registration or title (green icon). You should check after by pressing yellow icons, that appear after upload.

26 Answer survey questions, then you get a confirmation screen, check info for accuracy & click confirm box then hit "pay"

27 Fill in credit card info and press pay. Not Vehicle warranty (Deposit) is $100-$400 US equivalent. you will get this back when you leave.

28 Confirmation screen, you should print this out
