It is important to understand tat any loads or attacments weter fastened to or placed on a veicle will alter te stability or andling caracteristics of tat veicle. Spray tanks or oter equipment must be filled only to a level were te gross weigt is witin te load limit of te veicle. Safety is a primary concern in te design, manufacture, sale, and use of spray tanks and oter equipment. As manufacturers of spray tanks and oter equipment we want to confirm to you, our customers, our concern for safety. We take tis opportunity to remind you about te simple, basic and common sense rules of safety wen using spray tanks and oter equipment. Failure to follow tese rules can result in severe injury or deat to operators and bystanders. It is essential tat everyone involved in te assembly, operation, transport, maintenance and storage of tis equipment be aware, concerned, prudent and properly trained in safety. Tis also applies to equipment tat is loaned or rented to someone wo as not read te owner s manual and is not familiar wit te operation of application equipment. NEVER EXCEED THE LOAD LIMIT CAPACITY OF THE TRACTOR OR OTHER VEHICLE. ALL TRACTOR AND TRAILED EQUIPMENT TYRES SHOULD BE INFLATED TO MANUFACTURERS RECOMMENDED OPERATING PRESSURES. PLEASE NOTE THAT FILLING THE SPRAY TANK OR OTHER EQUIPMENT COMPLETELY AND OR THE ATTACHMENT OF ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT TO THE TRACTOR MAY EXCEED THE TRACTOR S MAXIMUM LOAD CAPACITY, AND ADVERSELY AFFECT THE STABILITY OF THE TRACTOR OR OTHER VEHICLE. CARGO SHOULD BE PROPERLY DISTRIBUTED AND SECURELY ATTACHED. REDUCE SPEED WHEN CARRYING CARGO OR PULLING A TRAILER OR TRAILED APPLICATION EQUIPMENT AND ALLOW GREATER DISTANCE FOR BRAKING. NEVER ALLOW ANYONE TO RIDE ON YOUR SPRAYER OR OTHER EQUIPMENT. ALWAYS FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE OWNER S VEHICLE MANUAL FOR CARRYING CARGO OR PULLING A TRAILER. PROPER MAINTENANCE IN LINE WITH MANUFACTURER S RECOMMENDED MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES IS ESSENTIAL. BEFORE APPLYING CHEMICALS, READ THE LABEL OF THE CHEMICAL MANUFACTURER OR SUPPLIER FOR PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT AND OPERATE AS RECOMMENDED. THE SAFETY OF ALL CHEMICALS USED IN AGRICULTURE IS UNDER THE JURISDICTION OF A GOVERNMENT AGENCY, IE N.Z. MINISTRY FOR THE ENVIRONMENT.

2 CAUTIONS, WARNINGS and NOTES Trougout tis document, text as been igligted as warnings, cautions and notes. Warnings are mandatory instructions. Failure to comply wit tese instructions may result in injury or damage. Cautions are advisory. Failure to comply may result in poor operation or premature failure. Notes are to assist wit convenient operation of te equipment. SAFETY Before attempting to install or operate te equipment, read and understand te manual torougly. Failure to comply wit tis instruction constitutes improper use and will invalidate te warranty. Before using your pesticide, STOP, Read Te Label Mixing pesticides is a most dangerous time as it involves andling te concentrated material. For toxic compounds, use protective cloting suc as overalls, at, gloves, boots and respirator. Wen using concentrated sprays, full protection is necessary. Wen using diluted sprays, wear a at, long-sleeved cotton overalls, and boots. If you use pesticides regularly, it is a good idea to always wear a respirator to avoid cumulative effect. Oter protection may be required. Ceck te label. It may ave specific directions for te particular cemical. Protective cloting sould be properly cared for. Rinse eavily contaminated clotes in te open before wasing in te laundry. Was and dry protective cloting every day, but keep tem separate from oter wasing. Respirators need special care. Clean your respirator after spraying. Use soapy water ten rinse and allow drying completely before storing in a clean plastic bag. Replace canisters in respirator after eigt ours use. WARNING To reduce te cance of VEHICLE instability, exercise EXTREME care wile spraying on a slope or illside. DESCRIPTION Te In-Ex Agriboom is a ligt-weigt crossover folding boom suitable for flatdeck, trailed or 3 point linkage mounting available in 6m and 8m variations (6Li, 8Li). Te booms are manufactured of sturdy steel construction, ave breakaway protection and are finised wit zinc plated steel components and ig pressure PVC gaspipe boom lines. All booms are fitted wit flat fan nozzle tips and single non-drip ceck valve nozzle bodies as standard. Agriboom suitable for mounting to flat surfaces Order 6Li Pt.No Li Pt.No ORDER INFORMATION 1 WARRANTY AND LIABILITY WARRANTY Use of te equipment 1.1 You must satisfy yourself as to te suitability of te equipment for your intended use(s) of te equipment. 2

3 Your relationsip wit te retailer 1.2 Were you consider you ave a warranty claim (or any oter claim) in relation to te equipment, you must contact te retailer wo sold you te equipment, not C-Dax directly. Te retailer is responsible for liaising wit C-Dax in respect of your claim. Warranty 1.3 C-Dax warrants to te original purcaser tat te equipment is sold free from defects in materials and workmansip for a period of 12 monts from date of first retail sale (6 monts from date of first retail sale if te equipment is sold in te U.K.) subject to te terms set out below. 1.4 C-Dax will at its option repair or replace te defective equipment (or part of te equipment) or notify te retailer of te equipment to refund te purcase price for suc defective equipment to you in te event of a breac of tis warranty, subject to te terms set out below. Liability 1.5 Except for te warranty set out in clause 1.2 above, all warranties and representations (including tose expressed or implied by law) in respect of te equipment or advice relating to te equipment provided to you by C-Dax are excluded to te extent permitted by law. 1.6 Notwitstanding anyting else in tis manual, C-Dax s maximum liability to you (in te event tat suc liability exists) in respect of any breac of warranty, any matter set out in tis manual, or for defective equipment or advice relating to te equipment provided is limited at C-Dax s option to: (a) (b) repairing or replacing te equipment (or part of te equipment); or notifying te retailer of te equipment to refund te price for te equipment paid by you. 1.7 Notwitstanding anyting else in tis manual, in no event will C-Dax be liable, weter in contract, tort (including negligence) or oterwise: (a) (b) (c) were you ave altered or modified te equipment, misused or misapplied te equipment, or te equipment as been subjected to any unusual, excessive or non-recommended use, service or andling (including as set out in tis manual); were te equipment is not transported, stored, andled or used in accordance wit any directions given by C-Dax (or te retailer) to you (including as set out in tis manual); were te equipment: (i) (ii) (iii) as been subject to neglect, accident or ireage, or te damage arises from fair wear and tear, battery damage or cemical attack; as been built to a customer s specifications; or as been dismantled, repaired or serviced oter tan by an autorised service agent of C-Dax; (d) (e) for loss or damage caused by any factors beyond C-Dax s control; or for any loss of profit or revenue, or for any special, indirect, incidental or consequential damage, loss or injury of any kind suffered by you. 1.8 Were C-Dax elects to repair or replace te equipment it will use reasonable endeavours to do so as soon as practicable but will not be liable for any delay in doing so. 3

4 1.9 You agree tat te transactions entered into between you and te retailer (and C-Dax) are for te purposes of trade and tat, aving regard to all relevant circumstances of te transactions, it is fair and reasonable tat te provisions of te Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (NZ) do not apply to tose transactions to te fullest extent permitted by law. BOOM INSTALLATION Fit boom spacer brackets to rear of sprayer frame. Fit boom to spacer brackets. Secure all brackets using fasteners provided. Boom Heigt Minimum recommended boom eigt above te target is 50cm for nozzles (standard). Test te evenness of distribution by spraying an area of dry concrete wit clean water. Te surface must dry evenly. If te target is above ground level, raise te boom eigt accordingly. Plumbing Connect te boom delivery line to a spare outlet port on te sprayer pressure regulator, secure wit ose clamps provided. THEORY OF OPERATION Spray fluid is placed in te tank were it is drawn troug a suction filter and pumped to a control valve. Te excess flow from te valve is returned to te tank via te bypass ose. Fluid at a pressure of 1-4 bar (nominally) is pumped to te spray tips via nozzle tip strainers. At te spray tip, fluid is atomized at te spraying pressure and te fluid is propelled toward te target at te tip angle (110 nominally). Droplet size is controlled by te spraying pressure. OPERATION Wit water in te spray tank, fold te boom out. Open te dump valve on regulator. Turn on te pump and ensure oses and lines are free of kinks and blockages. Close te dump valve on te regulator and allow time for te air to be expelled from te oses and lines. Wit te pump still on, set te pressure in te spray line to approximately 30 psi (2 bar), by turning te pressure adjustment knob on te control unit. Water sould flow evenly out of te spray tips. Te nozzles will form droplets tus creating te spray, drive forward at te required operating speed across target area. 4

5 CALIBRATING YOUR PRESSURE NOZZLE BOOM Metric Version (litres, metres, kp) (*Standard nozzle spacing 0.5 metres) You will need to calibrate your sprayer to ensure te accurate application of cemical or liquid fertilizer. If too muc cemical or liquid fertilizer is applied you will be wasting money! If too little is applied you may need to repeat te spraying, wic will be wasting your money and time! Cemicals are expensive. Repeat calibration frequently during te seasons to avoid disappointment. To calibrate your sprayer you will need: a) nozzle calibrator or an accurate measuring flask b) watc or clock wit seconds, or a stopwatc c) tape-measure d) calculator NOTE: Cemical also refers to liquid fertilizers. 1. Measure time taken to travel 100m at te speed used for spraying NOTE Maximum Recommended Spraying Speed is 12 Kp. 2. Run Sprayer and record output from eac nozzle (in mls) for te same time it took to travel 100m. Calculate average flow per nozzle. Ie. Add individual nozzle output and divide by number of nozzles. NOTE Ceck any nozzle tip tat is out by ± 5% Discard any nozzle tip tat is out by ± 10% 3. Litres/a = Average Nozzle output (ml/nozzle) x nozzle spacing (mm) 4. Cemical to add to tank Litres of Cemical = Water in Tank (L) x Label cemical rate/a L/a (application Rate) HINT: If you want to spray one ectare, but a tank load covers two, ten simply put in alf te amount of cemical and water in te tank. Similarly if you want to spray alf a ectare and a tank load covers two, ten quarter te amount of cemical and water in te tank, and so on. For future reference enter your sprayer details in te calibration table on te following page. 5

7 110-SF Grey SF Wite MAINTENANCE After Use At te end of spraying, flus te system tree times wit fres water. Finis wit a final rinse using a neutralizing rinse. Remove te strainer basket under te lid of te sprayer, rinse and refit. Remove te main filter element, clean and replace, ensuring tat te filter bowl O ring is in place, and te bowl nut is tigt. Clean te outside of te sprayer to remove any spray residue. Remove and rinse te nozzle tip filters. Routinely Ceck te spray tip patterns for wear, replace if necessary. Calibrate te boom (every 100Ha). Lubricate any moving boom parts. Ceck spray oses for kinks or damage, replace if necessary. Annually Replace spray tips. Lubricate te break away joints wit good quality grease. Filters Ceck all filters after te first four ours of use, ten at te end of eac spraying session, more regularly depending on te water supply and cemicals used. 7
