3 President s C orner I hope you all enjoyed the comfort of air conditioning while you were registering at our last event in our new (to us) RV. I know we did. :) Remember, the new dates for the Annual Bay Bottom Crawl are February For more information, please refer to evscc.com. As such, we will be running our regular Bay Bottom Crawl warm up event. Due to the fences at the far end of the strip, we will be modifying the course slightly in order to maintain the big sweeper. Remember, safety is priority one at our events. We pride ourselves on making the courses as safe as possible, but at the end of they day, each driver is responsible for their own driving. In the unlikely event of a mishap, I need to remind you that you will be responsible for any property damage that you cause. Be safe out there. 4 2014 Trophy Rules Gulfcoast Autocrossers, LTD 1. The 2014 season will consist of ten events held at Buckingham Airfield. 2. To qualify for year-end class champion, the following requirements must be met: a. Must compete in at least eight events in the 2014 series. b. Must compete in at least eight events in the same car class. 3. At the end of the series, a class champion award will be given to the person with the most points in the class, based on the following: a. Points from the best eight of ten events will be counted b. In the event of a tie, the ninth event will determine the tie breaker. 4. All results and class designations will be final at the end of each event. 5. Points cannot be transferred from one class to another class. (Note: It is the driver's responsibility to know what class they belong in) Business Owners... 5 March 8-9, 2014 Registration Deadline Feb. 1, 2014 The Ultimate Autocross Learning Experience Intro (1 day) The basic fundamentals are addressed in the Intro class. This class is specially designed to cover the most important components of sound autocrossing techniques and strategies. Covered in the Intro class are: Ÿ course walking strategies Ÿ timed runs Ÿ ergonomic considerations Ÿ driving mechanics - the hands, feet, and head Ÿ an introduction to the psychology of driving and other human factors Whether you are a first time driver or a seasoned veteran, working on the fundamentals of driving is critical to success. The Intro class is arguably the most important class in our line-up. Comp (1 day) The Comp class dovetails with the Intro course as it re-emphasizes the basic fundamentals learned in the Intro course while introducing some strategies which will take your driving to the next plateau. Now that you have begun developing sound fundamentals after experiencing the Intro class, you're ready to start pushing yourself and begin honing your competition skills. Ÿ Ÿ Ÿ Ÿ Ÿ Ÿ Reinforce basic fundamentals Multiple course configurations Begin pushing the limits of you and your car Advanced driving techniques and strategies Advanced psychological/mental concepts and strategies Learn to compete - competition preparation In the Comp class you'll understand and learn how to maximize your cars potential. Advanced concepts, driving techniques, and car control skills will be emphasized throughout the day. Students will test themselves on several challenging course configurations during the day while receiving one-on-one personalized guidance the entire time. It's like having your own personal autocross coach instructing you all the way to the top! Beat the instructors times and you may be rewarded with a prize on the podium at the conclusion of the day.

13 For complete results, please visit: 8 Number Warning 586 SSP Numbers must be readable and correct. We follow SCCA standards when it comes to numbering standards. Your numbers should be a minimum of 8 tall, with a bold stroke, no less than 1.25 thick. Class letters must be a minimum of 4 tall with a 0.75 stroke. Additionally, the colors selected should be of high-contrast as compared to your car color. They should be easily readable from the timing and scoring RV. Shoe polish and tape numbers ARE NOT PERMITTED. You must have your car number, and class letters installed, before tech inspection. Paper numbers and class letters are available for sale in the tech area. 4
