Launched in 1995, The Husqvarna Automower was the worlds first robotic lawn mower and is still the market leader today. 2-Stroke Technology: In 2005, Husqvarna launched the X-Torq engine that reduces exhaust emissions by up to 75% and increases fuel efficiency by 20%, whilst delivering improved power and performance. AutoTune technology quickly followed in 2009, providing automatic engine setting with no manual adjustments for optimal engine performance. Working side by side, learning and sharing the pride with our endcustomers is key to creating value in our products and services HUSQVARNA S HISTORY RIFLE FACTORY Husqvarna is founded as a weapons foundry for the Swedish armed forces. The last shotgun made at this facility is produced in SEWING MACHINES The new machinery for producing rifles turns out to be well suited for manufacturing sewing machines, which are produced until operations are divested in KITCHEN EQUIPMENT The first grey iron foundry is established and in addition to sewing machines, Husqvarna produces kitchen equipment in cast iron such as meat grinders and later, stoves and ovens. BICYCLES The bicycle era kicks off in the factory and Husqvarna bicycles become very popular. Many patents are registered and bicycles are produced until MOTORCYCLES The production of motorcycles gives Husqvarna a worldwide reputation and the company s lightweight yet powerful engines are used in some of the most successful track racing and motocross bikes in history. The operation is divested in LAWN MOWERS When Norrahammars Ironworks, Sweden is acquired, the product range expands to include boilers and lawn mowers. This acquisition turns out to be the first step in the Group s current focus on outdoor products. The first lawn mower powered by an engine is produced in CHAINSAWS Husqvarna s expertise in engines is now utilized in new product areas and 1959 marks the start of production of the chainsaw. Husqvarna is the first in the world to launch chainsaws with: Integrated anti-vibration system (1969), Automatic chain brake (1973), Air Injection filtration system (1989), X-Torq engine (2005), AutoTune (2009) and Trio-Brake safety system (2010) ROBOTIC LAWN MOWER Husqvarna pioneers the world s first robotic lawn mower, including a solar powered version taking lawn mowing into the future. 2013, the third generation Husqvarna Automower is launched BATTERY PRODUCTS Husqvarna launches an entire range of battery products with less noise, vibration and maintenance and no direct emission CHAIN A new production facility for manufacturing chainsaw chains opens in Huskvarna.

LOW EMISSION ENGINE TECHNOLOGY Husqvarna is dedicated to the development of low emissions engines, such as our unique E-TECH and X-TORQ engines. The X-TORQ delivers increased torque while reducing emissions by up to 75% and increases fuel efficiency without compromising on power - exceeding the worlds most stringent environmental regulations. RECYCLED MATERIALS Around 45% of the steel and aluminium that is used in Husqvarna products is recycled. Plastic parts are marked to facilitate recycling. Roughly 80% of the weight of a chainsaw is material that can be recycled using current methods. BIODEGRADABLE OILS AND LUBRICANTS Husqvarna is a pioneer when it comes to non petroleum based oils and lubricants. We market products such as vegoil, our vegetable based chain oil which is biodegradable and we recommend the use of to reduce environmental impact and increase product life. NO FUMES, LESS NOISE With Husqvarna s range of professional battery-powered handheld and cordless garden tools, you no longer need to worry about fumes and noise. GREENER SOLUTIONS Husqvarna Automower is a battery powered, fully robotic lawn mower that does not produce harmful exhaust emissions and is extremely quiet, eliminating noise pollution. The Newton Aycliffe facility, County Durham, where the Husqvarna Automower is produced, is sourcing 100% renewable electricity. of all electricity used in Husqvarna Group manufacturing sites is from renewable energy sources (2017.) Zero direct water emissions at Husqvarna Group sites in Sweden. In November 2017, Husqvarna Group switched on its first solar power generating facility at its current moulding site in Nashville, Arkansas USA. The new solar plant will provide approximately 25% of the annual power required by this energy intensive facility. Our carbon target aims to reduce our emissions through the entire value chain - from product development to our suppliers, manufacturing and when our products are in use. Delivering on these priorities not only strengthens our business, it delivers value to employees, customers and investors alike. Setting the goals, getting approval by the Science Based Target initiative, demonstrates that we re serious and committed to contributing to a low-carbon future.
