10 chassis components Torsion bar suspension as standard stable LOAD level The AL-KO Level Controller, ALC, replaces the conventional shock absorbers fitted to the vehicle. The fully automatic system ensures optimum ride height of the rear axle, independent of the load, so bumps and steep driveways can be overcome with ease. smooth & stable driving dynamics Superior to conventional suspension solutions, the torsion bar suspension greatly improves the drive performance of the AMC Chassis, for a more comfortable ride. The system is designed specifically for the rear axle, and remains stable even in difficult road conditions, transforming bumps into gentle vibrations. ALC - THE AL-KO Level Controller Without ALC, even a short overhang can drag on the ground when loaded. SUPERIOR AS STANDARD The AL-KO AMC Chassis is the only motorhome chassis which includes torsion bar suspension as standard. With ALC the rear axle remains at an optimum level, even when fully loaded. Even with a long rear overhang, the ground clearance of the vehicle is maintained. a more relaxing drive ALC improves the suspension and driving comfort, with the noticeable damping effect contributing to relaxed driving over long distances and on difficult road conditions. 11 chassis components remote control With just a push of a button you can lower or raise the vehicle, even when travelling at speeds of up to 25 km/hr. This is especially useful for boarding a ferry, or parking on sloped driveways. With the electronic auto-level feature, the vehicle automatically levels off when stationary. Air Premium X4 full air suspension at the highest level a more comfortable ride The Air Premium X4 air suspension consists of four air suspension units, two on each axle. The air suspension offers unparalleled ride comfort and ensures the vehicle remains at a constant height, independent of the load. Lifts the front axle to the highest point, and lowers the rear axle to the lowest point, for easy loading of the rear garage and load carrier Lifts the rear axle to the highest point, and lowers the front axle to the lowest point, ideal for boarding ferries and driving up ramps/slopes Side tilt to assist with water tank emptying Raises both the front and rear axles, ideal for driving over rough terrain Maximum lowering for easier loading Manual levelling Auto level function to ensure the vehicle is level when stationary Enable or disable the system Short press: Levelling of all axles to ride height. 12 chassis components Air Premium X2 - Full air suspension for comfortable driving dynamics Air Plus and Air Top - Additional air suspension operating unit Air Premium X2 is a fully automatic and maintenancefree air suspension system, suitable for the rear axle of the AL-KO AMC Chassis, offering superior ride comfort. The rear axle can be raised by up to 50mm, and lowered by up to 60mm. Manual levelling Memory Mode 1 Memory Mode 2 Air Plus Air Plus is a manually adjustable air suspension system suitable for the rear axle(s) of the AMC Chassis. Air Plus allows the rear axle to be raised by up to 60mm, or lowered by up to 70mm, via an external air supply system. This allows for optimal suspension tuning, for maximum stability when stationary. Air Top Air Top is an air suspension system suitable for Original Chassis (Base Vehicle: Fiat Ducato, Peugeot Boxer and Citroën Jumper). Air Top allows the rear axle to be raised by up to 50mm, to address levelling issues on site and therefore improving stability when stationary. Air Top does not allow the axle to be lowered. Air Top requires an external air supply, such as a compressor or manual pump. Enable or disable the system Levels the rear axle(s) to ride height Security AND comfort The Electronic Stability Program ESP makes a major contribution to road safety. The Air Premium X2 ensures a more comfortable ride for motorhomes with ESP. Control in the cab The double gauge valve to control the air suspension is placed in the cab. 22 I 23

14 towbars & frame extensions Original AL-KO Towbar AHK MT 001, 010, 015, 017 and 026 The AL-KO towbar is designed specifically for the AL-KO AMC Chassis and as such provides the optimum fit for either a complete AL-KO Chassis or an AL-KO frame extension. The following towbars are suitable for all vehicles without a frame extension or with an unsuitable frame extension. Fixing brackets for carrier systems can be retrofit at any time. All AL-KO AMC Chassis built from 1995 have pre-punched fixing points for the AL-KO Towbar, ensuring simple installation. MT 001 I Original AL-KO Towbar Suitable for Fiat Ducato 230/244 base vehicles. I MT 001 AHK MT 005 This design is suitable for vehicles with an AL-KO AMC Chassis, or those with an AL-KO or similar load bearing frame extension. It can also be fitted to vehicles without a framework extension although additional fixing parts will be required. I MT 005 MT 010 or MT 015 Heavy duty towbar system in either a straight or suspended design for use only with vehicles with high towing capacity. Sawiko custom built. Removable towball system An optional accessory for all Sawiko towbars, the removable towball system is easily fixed with a detachable spacer and towball. Please note, this system may not be suitable for use with some heavy-duty couplings. Please ask for details. MT 017 This space-saving version is used primarily for vehicles with a flat base, or those with atypical substructures. It is possible to mount a scooter upto 130kg in weight. For example, a Fiat Ducato with 3.5t gross weight and towing capacity of 1.7t requires a towbar with a minimum D value of: 3.5 X x 9.81 = 11.22kN However, the actual permissible trailer load is based on the value stated in section 28 or 01 of the vehicle registration documents. Of all the given values it is always the lowest value that should be adhered to. The X-Dimension The X-dimension gives the overhang of the motorhome body over the standard chassis. Type 4 When ordering, please specify the dimensions X, H1, H2 and B as shown on the illustration on the right. If your motorhome has a tank or similar storage compartment in the area marked Z please contact us for a specialised dimension sheet. A = B = Wheelbase Distance from the rear axle centre to the centre of the load carrier. (For a rough calculation it can be assumed that the load is centred approximately 350mm behind the rear of the vehicle). 16 al-ko click-fix steady legs suitable for any terrain Your Advantage Often, the most scenic pitches on camp sites are those on uneven or sloping terrain, therefore making it almost impossible to get a motorhome level and stable. The new Click Fix Mechanical Steady Legs from AL-KO have been specifically designed to be fitted to the AL-KO AMC Chassis and provide a level and stable support to motorhomes. The legs will be safely stored above the line of the chassis during travel and the legs can be deployed within seconds of arriving on site. With a simple turn of the mechanism, the legs swing down at right angles, and continued winding will extend the legs until they reach the ground and start to support the vehicle. When it is time to leave the site, the legs can be quickly and efficiently raised in preparation for departure. By turning the mechanism, the legs will ascend back towards the chassis. When the legs reach the fully retracted position, they swing back up to clamp in position, in line with the chassis. Kit Contents 2 Steady Leg Supports, Fixings, Brackets & Instructions. Brace not included but can be ordered separately. safe automatic fold function In the event that the Steady Legs are still on the ground when the vehicle is moved, the legs will automatically fold either forwards or backwards to avoid damage to the supports or chassis frame from the movement of the vehicle. stable support System The robust AL-KO Steady Leg provides firm and stable support. They operate by turning the mechanism, allowing the legs to swing down to the correct angle before extending the support until it reaches the floor. When retracting, the legs will swing back to clamp in position in line with the chassis member. Fitment The steady legs can be fitted to the rear of the AL-KO AMC Chassis, at the front of the vehicle by the jacking point, or if fitted an AL-KO chassis extension. Since August 1995, pre-drilled holes have been included on the chassis members to aid the fitment of steady legs. Prior to this date, holes were not included and should be drilled by an approved service centre. Selecting the correct AL-KO Steady Leg Kit 1. Determine Laden Framework height (Dimension A). 2. With this dimension, confirm the part number for the appropriate kit from table below. 3. Ensure there is sufficient free space for the Steady Legs to stow correctly when not in use. Check length F in the table below. They are securely bolted to the chassis member and feature a hardened galvanised spindle providing telescopic extension and a foot to provide a sturdy platform to support the rear of the vehicle. The steady legs are lightweight, weighing less than 4kg per pair for the single extending version. This represents a weight saving of around 50% compared to the equivalent steel steady legs. Simple to use and fit The steady legs simply screw into receiver brackets which are bolted directly to the chassis. A wheel brace is then used to wind the steady legs down until they are at a right angle to the chassis. The simple system compensates for uneven surfaces quickly and effectively. As well as being easy to use the Moca steady legs are of the highest quality and represent excellent value for money. Moca Front Axle Steady Legs The Moca steady legs for the front axle differ from standard steady legs due to their adjustable spindle. This ensures that the steady leg is correctly used. 18 Load Carrier Systems More mobility, more fun Having a cycle on site enables you to venture a little further afield and really explore the local area. The Sawiko Load Carriers are specially developed for use with AMC Chassis, and are ideal for transporting scooters, motorcycles, bicycles, e-bikes, recreational vehicles or sports equipment safely and easily. Since 2012, Sawiko has been part of the AL-KO Group. The specialist motorhome load carriers and towbars complement the AL-KO accessories portfolio, with customised solutions for AL-KO AMC Chassis. The chassis mounted design of the load carrier systems means that the load weight is evenly distributed across the width of the vehicle, and does not require any method of fixing to the back wall of the motorhome. Whilst ideally suited for the AL-KO AMC Chassis, the range of carriers can also be fit to a host of other manufacturers chassis. Dependent on the design of the vehicle, the load carriers can be transferred from one motorhome to another.

E-Bikes are bigger than standard bicycles and weigh around 25kg each. The Velo carriers have a maximum payload weight of 75kg making them ideal for carrying up to two E-bikes. Perfectly Loaded Chassis brackets enable simple fitment of the carriers to the rear of the motorhome, and ensure that the load is evenly distributed across the width of the vehicle. The stable mounting position provides easier loading at a lower height, making it easy to stow the E-bikes more safely. As with all carriers from the Sawiko range, the Bambino is fitted directly to the chassis members ensuring the weight is evenly distributed across the strongest part of the vehicle. Easier Loading The Bambino Carrier provides a high quality, competitively priced alternative to rear wall mounted carrier systems that often require fixing to the back panel of the motorhome. Because Bambino is fitted to the chassis members the loading height of the carrier is lower, more convenient and simpler to load. Lightweight & Flexible The lightweight galvanised steel frame provides the base for carrying anything from a single motor scooter upto 4 bicycles using the extendable frame that is supplied as standard. Attached to the vehicle using two brackets bolted to the chassis, the carrier itself can be removed at any time. With the exception of the galvanised chassis brackets, all parts are powder coated protected. The scooter track, loading ramp and lightbar are made from aluminium, for a lightweight carrier. Clearance when loading The standard version of the Mikro Carrier has a maximum load depth of 370mm. With the conversion kit suitable for use with 4 bicycles, or 1 scooter and 1 bicycle, the maximum load depth is increased to 650mm. This conversion kit is also available as a retrofit item. This flexible all rounder can carry up to 150kg as standard (dependent on motorhome specification) with the option of carrying up to 4 bicycles, or 1 scooter and up to 2 bicycles. When fitted with the Model 2000 Premium Scooter Track, the payload can be increased to 200kg, dependent on the specification of the motorhome.
