2 NEW 2016 VOLVO FLEET SUPPORT TERMS At Volvo, we constantly push to get you more from your fleet. On 1st February 2016, we introduced our strongest fleet support terms ever right across our model range to help you enhance your fleet s capabilities. The terms, which have been updated on the Crown Commercial Service Portal, as well as being supplied to all major leasing providers, cover both company cars and vehicles sourced via Salary Sacrifice schemes. 3 VOLVO DRIVES RECORD SALES IN was a great year for Volvo Car. Reaching a record-breaking 503,127 car sales meant that Volvo hit the half a million sales mark for the first time in its 89-year history. By far the best performers of the range were the V40 and V40 Cross Country models reaching over 17,000 sales combined was a tremendous year for Volvo. With the strongest sales here in the UK for two decades, and the highest sales worldwide ever, Volvo is a brand that is going places. Nick Connor, Managing Director of Volvo Car UK 3

4 TECHNOLOGY FOR TOMORROW We re committed to developing innovations that make driving as safe and environmentally friendly as possible. For 2016, we re pushing this even further. Recently, we ve made some great additions to our innovation range. Our latest D5 Twin Engine technology gives effortless performance and zero-emissions capability reducing ownership costs and the environmental impact of your business. Right now, the D5 engine in our latest V60 delivers up to 155.2mpg (combined) and just 48g/km CO2. We re also proud to be working hard towards Vision 2020 our pledge that no one should be killed or seriously injured in a new Volvo within the next four years. To push this, we ve created City Safety a suite of innovations that help to identify pedestrians, detect potential collisions and more. City driving just got much, much safer. 4

Bluetooth connectivity and integrated navigation improve communications on the road, while Sensus Connect with High Performance Audio helps the miles roll by more enjoyably. Helpful features like Rear Park Assist and cruise control make driving more of a pleasure. A lower OTR price and BIK, and the impressive economy and performance of the super-efficient Drive-E D4 engine, make a compelling business case. Our Twin Engine technology has enabled us to build on our heritage of efficient powertrain development in a completely new way. THE VOLVO HYBRID RANGE IN A CLASS OF ITS OWN Our revolutionary T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid is now available in the all-new Volvo XC90 and the new S90 executive saloon. The T8 delivers an impressive 407hp* and 640Nm, travelling from 0-60 in 5.3 seconds or less, in return for just 49g/km CO2 and a frugal 2.1l/100 km fuel consumption. Volvo was the first car maker to produce a diesel-based plug-in hybrid powertrain the V60 D6. And now the new V60 D5 Twin Engine Special Edition will deliver a maximum driveline power output of approximately 230hp when the electric motor and diesel engine are working simultaneously. Hybrid: automatically alternates between petrol and electric to deliver the best overall fuel consumption. Pure electric: the electric motor has a range of more than 40 kilometres. AWD: constant all-wheel drive on demand. Save: allows the driver to freeze the battery level and save it for later use with pure electric drive. Power: engaging the superior response and instant torque curve of electric at start-up, transitioning to combustion at speed. As well as removing the need to compromise performance for gains in economy and emissions, our range of hybrids leads the field in adaptability. * 320hp + 87hp and 400Nm + 240Nm combined 407hp and 640Nm. 7 NEW VOLVO S90 LAUNCHED The new Volvo S90 executive saloon was unveiled to the world in January, equipped with an impressive array of new technologies, including cuttingedge safety features, seamless connectivity and a suite of cloud-based apps and services. An advanced semi-autonomous drive feature, Pilot Assist, gives gentle steering inputs to keep the car in lane at speeds up to 80 mph, bringing full autonomous drive a step closer to reality. In addition, we have added large animal detection functionality to the City Safety system on the new S90. This automatically detects large animals such as elk, horses or moose and offers an intuitive warning and brake support to help avoid a collision. The new S90 will be available with a range of Drive-E engine options, including the clean and powerful T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid. It also benefits from one of the most luxuriously appointed interiors and connected infotainment systems in the large sedan segment. The S90 has taken a big stride forwards in terms of driving dynamics, performance and ride, said Dr Peter Mertens, Senior Vice President, Research & Development at Volvo Car Group. We have completely redesigned the Volvo driving experience from the ground up to deliver a sense of precision, engaging control and comfort. 7

8 VOLVO PREVIEW OF THE NEW V90 February 2016 saw Volvo unveil the new V90 a stylish and versatile estate brimming with our latest technology. Building on Volvo Car s indisputable heritage in the estate segment that began over 60 years ago with the Volvo Duett, the new V90 takes the premium estate a clear step forward in terms of aesthetics, materials and finish, while living up to the ultimately practical nature of any true estate. Volvo Car has also worked tirelessly on driving dynamics in the new model, delivering a totally new and refined driving experience characterised by a sense of engaging control and predictability. The model delivers cutting-edge Pilot Assist semi-autonomous drive technology, the most advanced standard safety package on the market, with large animal detection and run-off road mitigation, and class-leading connectivity including smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay. Håkan Samuelsson, President and CEO of Volvo Car, said, In many people s minds we are known as the definitive estate brand. 9 THE FUTURE IS ELECTRIC In one of the automotive industry s most comprehensive electrification strategies, Volvo Car has announced that plug-in hybrids will be introduced across the entire Volvo Car Range, and an entirely new range of electrified smaller cars will be developed, including the production of a fully electric car for sale by We believe that the time has come for electrified cars to cease being a niche technology and enter the mainstream, said Håkan Samuelsson, President and CEO of Volvo Car. We are confident that by 2020, 10 per cent of Volvo s global sales will be electrified cars. 10 DRIVING CHANGE There s no doubt that autonomous driving is getting closer and closer to becoming a reality, nor that it will revolutionise road travel. But exactly how things will change is still very much a matter of debate. Volvo has been at the forefront of autonomous driving technology for many years, and we have already built a number of AD technologies into our cars to enhance safety and driver convenience. We are also leading the debate around social, cultural and behavioural change, and in 2017 Volvo will collaborate with the civic authorities in Gothenburg to conduct the biggest and most comprehensive real-world trial of autonomous driving technologies ever conducted. The Drive Me project will put 100 self-driving cars on the streets of the city. They ll gather real-life data around driver behaviours, traffic patterns and many other issues that arise when self-driving cars join the regular traffic on the streets of an average city.
