5 Sprayer 9 The 4930: The Ultimate in Application Productivity No matter how big the field, the farm, or the job, the 4930 Sprayer can handle it with the speed and accuracy your customers demand, the efficiency and versatility you expect, and the comfort and convenience your operators will appreciate. Start with the basics. The 4930 gives you a 325 HP John Deere PowerTech Plus engine; more than enough to pull a full tank through the toughest conditions. The 1,200- gallon solution tank gives you the capacity you need to take on the largest jobs. Cover huge swaths with boom widths to 120 feet, then switch to lime and fertilizer application with either the available 200 or 300 cubic-foot spinner box. Rinse the solution tank up to three times with 150 gallons of rinse water. Operators can select and activate the autorinse cycle from the cab, with the push of a single button. The available Lincoln Quicklub Automated Lubrication System automatically greases 75 lube points on the sprayer, while you spray. Two drybox sizes for three-season capability To ensure the best and fastest return on your investment, your application equipment needs to be running as often, and over as many acres, as possible. That s where the 3-season capability of the drybox-equipped 4930 Sprayer comes in. Make the easy, four-hour changeover from liquid to dry application, and you ve effectively doubled the productivity of your sprayer. Both the 200- and the 300-cubic foot dryboxes give you valuable features. The patented spinner design allows you to spread dry fertilizer in swaths up to 105 feet, or ag lime up to 60 feet (200 cubic-foot model only). The spinner propels material instead of lofting it, so you get a consistent spread, even in crosswinds of up to 30 MPH. The optional MultApplier system lets you spread two dry products simultaneously, helping reduce blending costs. The new GS Display and SpreadStar Controller allow variablerate map-based spreading of up to two dry products. Swath Control Pro functionality turns the conveyor on and off, assisting the operator with reduced skipping, streaking and overlap. But that s just the start. The standard Solution Command System completely automates filling, mixing and rinsing functions; the optional high-flow plumbing system lets you spray at rates up to 50 gallons per acre, at 15 MPH. Flat-fold boom design allows improved visibility while the booms are folded. Based on the class-leading 4730 Sprayer chassis, the 4830 is available with all the performance-enhancing features and options you expect from John Deere application equipment: the GS Display with built-in GreenStar Basics software, available high-flow plumbing, flat-fold boom with front-facing ladder and cab entry, available AutoTrac, BoomTrac Pro and Swath Control Pro, a dependable 275 HP John Deere PowerTech Plus engine, and the list goes on. 10 18 30 Series: Engines and Drives 19 Dependable power: When and how you need it most Both the 4730 and the 4830 Sprayer are powered by the proven John Deere PowerTech Plus 6.8L engine; this workhorse of an engine gives the base horsepower, with a peak of 270 HP; the 4830 gets 275 base horsepower, with a 300 HP peak. Pushing the big 4930 through the field is the PowerTech Plus 9.0L engine, delivering 325 HP, with 357 peak HP available for tough ground. All three sprayers feature tandem hydrostatic drive pumps operating in an X pattern; while one pump powers the front left and right rear wheel motors, the other powers the front right and rear left. By using this diagonal drive configuration, the sprayer can maintain traction in wet conditions and uneven ground. For owners and operators of the 4930, spraying speed can be regulated with a convenient thumb wheel located on the hydro handle. Set the target speed, and the sprayer will maintain that speed as long as the hydro handle and the throttle are all the way forward.
