Save all warnings and instructions for future reference. Safety signal words The safety signal words Danger, Warning, Caution, and Notice have the following meaning: DANGER WARNING CAUTION NOTICE! DANGER indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, will result in the death or serious injury. WARNING indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in the death or serious injury. CAUTION, used with the safety alert symbol, indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in minor or moderate injury. NOTICE! is used to address practices not related to personal injury. Warranty Product warranty will expire 12 months after the product is first taken into use but shall in any case expire at the latest 13 months after delivery. Normal wear and tear on parts is not included within the warranty. o Normal wear and tear is that which requires a part change during the standard tools maintenance for that period taking into consideration the number of tightenings and average applied torque. The product warranty relies on the correct use, maintenance, and repair of the tool and its component parts. Damage to parts that occurs as a result of inadequate maintenance or performed by parties other than Desoutter or their Certified Service Partners during the warranty period is not covered by the warranty. To avoid damage or destruction of tool parts, service the tool according to the recommended maintenance schedules and follow the correct instructions. Warranty repairs are only performed in Desoutter workshops or by Certified Service Partners. 7 EN Product Instructions Installation Installation instructions The DJS simulates the joint behavior. Install the DJS on a PST Pulse Static Transducer to test power and impulse tools. Each DJS simulates a specific stiffness as described in its torque/angle characteristics. The DJS is identified by the two colored rings. For more information about the PST Pulse Static Transducer, refer to PST Pulse Static Transducer Product Instructions (Desoutter User Guides are available at To install the DJS on the PST Pulse Static Transducer, do the following: 1. If necessary, for PST Pulse Static Transducer models with a capacity over than 10Nm, loosen the lever. 2. Insert the DJS into the socket of the PST Pulse Static Transducer. 3. For PST Pulse Static Transducer models with a capacity over than 10Nm, tighten the lever. 8 Product Instructions EN Operation Testing generic power tools Generic power tools give a real torque : A B A. Torque B. Time (or Angle) After installing the DJS on the PST Pulse Static Transducer, put the power tool on the square / hexagon adapter of the DJS. Testing pulse tools There are two types of pulse tools: Pulse tools without shut off: they do not stop working after the operator releases the trigger. Pulse tools without shut off may be tested directly on the PST Pulse Static Transducer. Pulse tools with shut off: they shut off the air after getting a preset torque level. Pulse tools with shut off requires the DJS. If the DJS is not used, the tightening stops after the first or the second pulse and the test does not give any consistent result. After installing the DJS on the PST Pulse Static Transducer, put the pulse tool on the square / hexagon adapter of the DJS. 8 / 10 01/2018

9 EN Product Instructions Service Maintenance Instructions Cleaning Keep the DJS for PST clean. After use, remove any trace of oil, grease and dust from the DJS for PST. Use an anti-static cleaning cloth to remove dust from the DJS for PST. Avoid using harsh detergents to clean the DJS for PST. Greasing Once every 3000 tightenings or every year (whichever occurs first), add a proper lubricant for high temperature to the DJS from the greasing hole (see the picture on the right). We recommend Dry Moly Paste by Rocol (or similar) as lubricant for high temperature. After refilling, execute about 10 cycles (tightening / untightening) to let the grease distributing inside the DJS. A A. Greasing hole 01/ / 10
