4 Charging of Tablets 1) All tablets should be charged continuously for 6 Hours as mentioned in the wrapping plastic. 2) If the tablet was not charged for 6 Hours first time, it should be discharged completely and then put on charge continuously for 6 Hours. 3) When charging the tablet, generally it will start slowly at first and will then increase gradually.

5 Battery FAQ 1) My Battery is discharging quickly? 1) Applications running in background may be using battery. If the battery is discharging quickly, close the applications. Click on 3rd Menu Button Swipe the icon upward to close application

6 2) How to disable Auto-Update? Click on Play Store icon 4 Click on the Option icons Click on Auto-Update Apps Click on Do not auto-update apps

7 3) Avoid keeping tablets in pouch when charging as it may heat it up. 4) Turn off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi when not in use 5) Decrease screen brightness if necessary to have a better battery life time

10 Maximizing the capacity and life span of the battery Factors that contribute to loss of battery capacity Li-Ion battery cells suffer gradual, irreversible capacity loss with each discharge-charge cycle. Such aging occurs more rapidly as temperature and discharge loads increase. The self-discharge rate of a Li- Ion battery is higher if the battery is left in an unpowered tablet. During prolonged storage or nonuse, the battery charge may decrease below its recommended low-voltage level. Leaving the battery in a depleted condition for an extended period will accelerate the decrease in Full Charge Capacity (FCC) Memory Effect - Leaving the battery at a high level of charge in a hightemperature environment for extended periods will accelerate the loss of capacity. Recommended battery care practices Store Li-Ion batteries between 20 C and 25 C (68 F and 77 F) with 30% to 50% charge. Do not leave batteries exposed to high temperatures for extended periods. Prolonged exposure to heat (for example, in a closed store) will accelerate the deterioration of Li-Ion cells. Calibrate the battery based on the usage model. Under normal usage, batteries should be calibrated a minimum of once every 3 months; however, a battery that is rarely discharged fully should be calibrated about once a month Calibration means repeated full charge and discharge cycles. Tips for conserving battery power You can manually change the power consumption of your Tablet PC and conserve battery power - Reduce the brightness of the screen to the minimum readable level. Turn off the Wireless button when it is not in use. Check for programs running in the background. Some programs automatically auto update and run in the background when the tablet is started. You can decrease the power requirements by disabling auto updates. Running high-end applications using the battery accelerates the discharge of capacity. For example, running screen broadcast than using simple browsing or notes taking. 10

11 Factors defining the capacity and life span of the battery Battery life will vary depending on the product configuration, product model, applications loaded on the product, power management setting of the product, and the product features used by the customer. As with all batteries, the maximum capacity of this battery will decrease with time and usage. The operating voltage range of a Li-Ion battery pack remains relatively constant throughout its useful life; however, its capacity begins to decrease in a roughly linear manner as soon as it is put into service. Over time, the actual battery capacity decreases due to electrochemical inefficiencies within each cell. This loss in capacity (aging) is irreversible; it cannot be restored by cycling the battery. Gradually, less and less active material is available within each cell to electrochemically store a charge. Consequently, you will experience reduced tablet run time. Under normal discharge loads, Li-Ion batteries have a life span of between 300 and 500 cycles. With moderate use, Li-Ion batteries are expected to deliver approximately 80% of their rated capacity after 300 cycles or about one year of use. This estimate covers typical consumers who completely cycle the battery each working day by running low to medium power applications (word processing, , and spreadsheets) in wired or wireless modes. 11
