2 INFORMATION We apply innovative technologies to bring new adventure recreation equipment to the climbing, zip line, adventure and amusement industries. Head Rush products make adventure activities safer, while increasing throughput and enhancing customer experience. We re best known for our application of eddy current braking technology in products such as our TRUBLUE Auto Belay, the zipstop Line Brake, the quickjump Free Fall Device and FlightLine Free Fall Device What are eddy currents? Eddy currents happen when you move non-magnetic metals through a magnetic field What is eddy current braking? Eddy current braking uses a phenomenon called electromagnetic induction, where motion between a magnet and non-magnetic metal causes a force opposing the motion between the two objects. As a result, kinetic energy, which is movement, is converted to thermal energy, which is heat. This braking happens entirely without contact. When the conductive material in the magnetic field is still, no reaction occurs. When the conductor moves while in the magnetic field, a magnetic field and eddy currents are generated within the conductor that opposes the direction of the current of the magnetic field of the permanent magnet to create the braking effect. This is called an eddy current, because the current doesn t travel in a straight line. The induced current swirls within the conductor, like eddy currents in a river. 2

3 INFORMATION How is eddy current braking used in our devices? In our devices, a retraction spring winds the webbing into the device. When force pulls the webbing out of the device, aluminium rotor arms are sent spinning into a magnetic field. This creates the eddy currents. These currents control the braking force and, thus, the speed at which the spinning occurs. This, in turn, controls the speed at which the webbing comes out. Our eddy current braking system is self-regulating. This means that the braking resistance automatically adjusts itself to provide consistent braking across a wide range of participant weights. What are the benefits of eddy current braking in these devices? There are many benefits of incorporating eddy current braking into our devices. Our devices are: Low maintenance Because the braking is magnetic, there are not any contacting parts in the braking system. There are no components, such as brake pads, to wear out or fail. As a result, there is less maintenance and a low ownership cost for our devices. Self-regulating Because the braking system is self regulating, our devices can accommodate a wide range of weights. Children and adults alike have a consistent experience. Smooth and comfortable Whether jumping, descending or approaching a platform, the experience is smooth and comfortable 3

8 ZIPSTOP LINE BREAK ZIPSTOP IR The zipstop IR is more streamlined version of our popular zip line brake. The IR stands for internal reduction, meaning that the device does not require an external reduction line system. This device can accommodate speeds to 60 km/h without the need for a reduction line system, making installation easier. 10 QUICK JUMP FREE FALL DEVICE The quickjump Free Fall Device provides an exciting element with high throughput and low operational costs to operators of amusement parks, family entertainment centers, adventure parks, shopping centers, resorts, ropes courses and more. The quickjump gives the rider the feeling of a free fall, while comfortably controlling their descent. The quickjump is modular and compact, allowing it to be installed in almost any high location. There are endless possibilities for including a quickjump Free Fall attraction in your facility. Because of the ease of installation, you can keep your attraction fresh by moving the quickjump or modifying the attraction as needed. 10

With heights up to 24.5 meters (80 feet), FlightLine provides unmatched thrills for users who want to push their limits. As a rider standing on a platform that's eight stories tall, you experience it all: your heart starts to race, your palms sweat, your legs are heavy... One deep breath as you step off into thin air and you'll experience an extended free fall sensation that's the closest thing you can get to skydiving (without the plane and the parachute). 15

16 FLIGHTLINE & QUICKJUMP COMPARISON Our QUICKjump Free Fall device was designed for its versatility, with mounting heights from 4.5m (14.75 ft) for the QUICKjump XS to 23m (75 ft) for the QUICKjump XL with a 3m Ripcord. And QUICKjumps can also be used indoors for family entertainment centers, ropes courses, and more. FlightLine was designed to be bigger, badder, and higher, with jumps from 24.5 meters (80 feet) high and a true free fall sensation ranging from 9m (30 ft) to an astonishing 15.25m (50 ft) which is falling five stories in the air before being safely caught and lowered to the ground. With these much higher jumps, FlightLine is engineered to mitigate the concerns that come with the greater heights, with a more robust design and a staged braking framework that provides for even longer free fall sensations. 19 FLIGHTLINE SPECIFICATIONS FlightLine comes with three RipCord options to provide amusement ride operators maximum flexibility in designing their park attraction. The longer RipCord lengths increase the free fall distance and mounting heights (the length of the Ripcord roughly equates to the length of the free fall, but with our staged braking system the free fall feeling is extended even further before the FlightLine catches the jumper and lowers them to the ground). RipCord options by the numbers Distances provided are for our standard overhead mounting configuration, and are from the device nozzle to the ground.
