CANOPY FIXTURES Modification to save labor, installing on canopy fixture: We participated in a design build for a new parking structure. The distributor brought START in and we reviewed the constraints and challenges on the build out. The Canopy the engineer had proposed was going to be labor intensive to install. We reviewed the design and offered a labor saving mounting option. We created the Kwik Fit option which allowed the contractor to go through and mount the boxes, run the pipe, and the wire. As they completed each level, they simply went back with the light engine and installed it. The key - the contractor didn t have to take our Canopy apart to install it. The contractor benefited from substantial labor savings. SLIMLINE LINEAR HIGH BAY Modification Opportunity: A national distributor had a time sensitive opportunity that needed various options on a Linear Hi-Bay. Prior to contacting us, the distributor had inquired with one of their suppliers. On a recommendation, he contacted us. The request was for wire guards on 100 pieces, pendant mounting on 100 pieces, chain mount on 75, and motion sensing on another pieces but four different versions... needed in a week! We completed the order in 3 business days. The key was having inventory and the accessories to complete the job! 44 ENGINEERED COMMERCIAL LIGHTING RETROFIT SOLUTIONS CASE DOWNLIGHTS STUDIES SILHOUETTE Engineered Solutions Opportunity: A national account had seen the concept of our new Hi-Bay while it was in the design / engineering phase. They asked us to propose something similar to the look. It needed to have varying degrees of beam angles, motion sensors, 0-10v Dimming and glass lenses. We reviewed the product they had looked at, but none could offer the complete suite of options. We took our prototype, had custom glass inserts made, created three different beam angles and added PC or Aluminum lenses where desired. We then modified the casting to accommodate for the motion sensing. We changed the driver to accommodate the 0-10v dimming. One last touch was added, we produced the lens rings in their color, and had their name etched in. Total time from concept to completion 3-weeks. AREA / SHOEBOX LUMINAIRE Standardization Opportunity: We started to work with a facility group for their lighting needs. As we went through the properties, comments were made about the lack of uniformity. The shoeboxes didn t match facility to facility, and the area lights did not resemble (in form and function) the shoeboxes. We discussed ideas mutually, garnered more information, and delivered a solution that addressed all of the client s needs. We used our shoebox format and added multiple mounting options. After that was completed, we used the same fixtures and added separate mounting options which could be secured to the ground and wash the sides of the buildings. 44 ENGINEERED LIGHTING SOLUTIONS CASE STUDIES

45 OUR WARRANTY START Lighting fixtures and LED replacement lamps are covered by either a 5 year or 3 year limited warranty from the date of purchase. START Lighting Inc. warrants these products to be free of defects in workmanship and/or material. START Lighting will replace or refund any units found to be defective within the first 59 months (5 year Warranted Product) or 35 months (3 year Warranted Product) from the date of delivery, as appropriate. START Lighting s liability under this warranty is limited to replacement of the lamp and/or fixture or refund of the lamp and/or fixture. Before returning the fixture or replacement lamp, the customer must call START Lighting s Customer Service at for a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Number. The START Lighting Customer Service Representative will at that time make appropriate arrangements for the return of the product. The product under warranty must be sent freight pre-paid by the customer to the address below along with the printed customer RMA statement. NOTE: Verification of purchase may be required. Failure to exercise the above RMA Policy Actions and Procedures will VOID all warranty responsibilities on behalf of START Lighting. START Lighting will not be liable for defects due to improper handling, misuse, negligence, accidents, acts of God or nature, exposure to casualty of elements, or unauthorized alteration/repair or electrical current fluctuations. In all such cases, the warranty is immediately null and void. Liability under this warranty is limited to replacement of the unit purchased. This warranty is exclusive of all other warranties, expressed or implied and START Lighting hereby specifically disclaims all other warranty claims of any type; including without limitation, a warranty of merchantability of any unit or its fitness for any particular use or purpose. 46 TERMS & CONDITIONS ORDERS All orders are subject to acceptance by the seller herein, START Lighting, Inc., which is also conditioned on the acceptance by the buyer herein ( Purchaser ) of these terms and conditions ( Terms ). The Buyer shall accept the Terms by either confirming the Sales Order Confirmation in writing (letter or ) or by accepting Products shipped. START Lighting, Inc. will confirm orders in writing. If the Products are unavailable, START Lighting, Inc. may substitute comparable Products. References to Products herein are intended to refer to lamps, fixtures, parts and other goods sold by START Lighting, Inc. PRICES All prices shown are in U.S. dollars, F.O.B. shipping point, and include START Lighting Inc. standard packaging material. Prices are subject to change at any time without notice. TAXES AND SPECIAL FEES Any sales use or other tax that may be imposed upon the sale or use of goods or any special fees required to complete the sale will be in addition to the quoted prices and will be paid by the Purchaser. SHIPPING Shipments will be made by common carrier at the purchaser s risk. All lamp orders greater than $1, will be shipped freight allowed (does not include shipping outside the contiguous United States). Special shipment requests such as next day air, etc., will be accommodated in the best way possible, with Purchaser paying for all charges. Payment arrangements must be made prior to shipment. For same day shipping, orders must be submitted by 11am MST / 1:00pm EST. Any orders submitted after 11am MST / 1:00pm EST will be shipped the next business day, pending payment arrangements. TERMS OF PAYMENT START Lighting Inc. accepts all major credit cards, checks, wire transfers and can set up terms upon request OAC. Terms are net 30 days (On Approved Credit) from date of invoice unless stated otherwise. Late Payment A service charge of 1.5% per month, not to exceed the maximum rate allowed by law, will be added to any portion of Purchaser s outstanding balance, which is not paid within 30 days after invoice date. (Credit Approval process can take up to 7 business days or more). A credit application must be completed. DELIVERY AND RISK OF LOSS Delivery Date Delivery dates are approximate and based on conditions at the time of acceptance of order. START Lighting Inc. assumes no responsibility for failure to deliver on or about such dates. Risk of Loss Unless otherwise agreed to in writing, delivery shall be complete upon transfer of possession to a common carrier. F.O.B. shipping point or F.A.S. port, as the case may be, whereupon all risk of loss, damage or destruction to the goods shall pass to the Purchaser. Claims for losses or damage incurred during transit should be reported directly to the carrier immediately upon receipt of shipment.
