11 Support Center The support center has been updated with new products, exploded drawings and specification sheets, and the comprehensive updated price list including the spare parts for the new products. P age00

12 Caddy for the New Cleaners A few adjustments were made to the existed caddy to adapt it to the different shape and accessories of the new cleaners. The P/N for this caddy is: ASSY. 13 DolphinTech Supplementary application for technicians. With an intuitive interface, it enables dealers and technicians to quickly carry out repairs remotely. App will be available soon from the Apple App store and at a later stage from the Google Play store. Dolphin Service Kit Maytronics has developed a new service kit for service stations and Elite dealers. This kit, together with the DolphinTech, can be used to diagnose and repair the new products. 14 Analyzer Update New firmware for the Analyzer and software for the desktop interface has been released. The new software includes updates for the S and E product families, as well as bug fixes. The firmware version for the analyzer is: F06C. The software version for the desktop interface is: The new software can be downloaded here. Please follow the upgrade instructions on pages 6-7 of the user guide. Note that the battery LED is inactive. This LED is now used to display the Servo motor error for the S line products. 15 Wave 300 XL New Molded Retrofit Connector The quality of the retrofit connector was recently improved. This should prevent water from penetrating into the motor unit's terminal, and as a result should prevent communication errors between the power supply and the robot. The following image depicts the new molded connector: The P/N of this spare part kit has not changed (P/N: ). The instructions manual for replacing the retrofit connector can be downloaded here. If you have old stock of the retrofit connector, we recommended ordering the new kit and destroying the old stock. P age05

16 Wave PM Kit From 1 January 2015, the Wave 300 XL preventive maintenance kit (P/N: ASSY & ) will not be sent in advance as was done in the past. All distributors that service the Wave 300 XL should carry this kit for future maintenance jobs. There is no change to the warranty policy for this item (you can still submit service calls to the warranty system). Wave Power Supply As part of the transition to the caddy with the roller, the terminal s connector on the power supply changed. For this reason, the previous power supply (P/N: ) will no longer be available. The P/N for the new power supply is This is relevant for all models and countries. 17 Hybrid The main ball bearing of the Hybrid's turbine (between the turbine and the gear) was replaced with a solid-sleeve bushing. This change will increase the robustness and lifespan of the Hybrid. As a result, the turbine and gear have a new P/N: H ASSY. The previous P/N (H ASSY) will no longer be available. 18 Motor Unit Quality Improvements and Diagnosis Statistics As part of our ongoing efforts to reduce the number of motor unit failures and to improve the quality of Maytronics products, we recently compiled comprehensive statistics of motor unit diagnostics that we received from customers over the last four years. Based on the research and statistical information, the following are the four main reasons for motor unit failures: Electronic failure Defective electronic components, electronic bugs, shorts etc. Mechanical and electric failures of drive and impeller motors Water penetration From motor shafts, shafts or covers. Incorrect analysis by technicians. The following chart depicts the four main reasons for motor unit failure: Motor Units Diagnosis Pie Chart (RMA from ) Drive/Impeller Motor Failure 20% Electronic Failure 42% Water Penetration 18% Incorrect Analysis 20% Our Engineering and R&D departments are constantly working to reduce motor unit failures cause by the first three reasons. In regards to the fourth reason, this can be resolved by improved training and technician qualification, more careful and thorough diagnosis, and full cycle water tests of cleaners when the reason for the failure is not immediately obvious. 19 During diagnosis, the following crucial points should be considered: 1. OVERLOAD error code. In many cases, an overload error is not a sufficient reason for replacing the motor unit. In some cases, overload errors occur as a result of permanent or temporary mechanical defects of the drive system (brushes, tracks, pulleys, active brush etc.), but this is not always the case. Overload errors can also occur as a result of the robot being stuck behind a ladder or other barrier in the pool. 2. WALL/FLOOR #2 error codes. In most cases, these error codes are not a sufficient reason to replace the motor unit. These error codes occur in the event of basic cleaners without a floating handle overturning to the side. These cases should be treated with other corrective actions such as brush replacements, changing the cable's float settings or chemistry balancing of the pool water. 3. VCC error code. In most cases, this error code is not a sufficient reason to replace the motor unit. This error code is related to a low voltage reading, which can be caused by a defective power supply or a short of the cable. 4. Water penetration in the motor unit terminal. This can be caused by bad seals or holes in the floating cable. To resolve this, the retrofit connector should be replaced and motor unit's terminal should be cleaned as described here. 5. OUT OF WATER error code. In most cases, this error occurs as a result of incorrect use and the motor unit does not need to be replaced. The following are possible reasons for this error: Dry wonder brushes - The cleaner will not sink in such cases. Air caught in the filter bag The cleaner should be placed upside down.
