6 PILOTAGE A Pilot is required for all vessels exceeding 35 metres in length overall (LOA), unless an Exempt Master is in charge of the vessel. Pilotage charges comprise a fixed charge plus a charge per gross registered tonnage (GRT), covering pilot services and pilot launch. The GRT charge will only apply to vessels greater than 9,999 GRT. Pilotage All Vessels (excluding Cruise Ships) Fixed charge (all vessels) per pilotage 1, GRT charge (to vessels with GRT greater than 9,999 GRT) per pilotage per GRT Inter-berth Transfers Transfer charges apply to all movements of vessels over 35 metres in length within a port area per shift 1, Pilotage Transfers In addition to the above, costs associated with over carry or transfer of pilots will be charged on a cost recovery basis. Pilotage Exemption Certificate and Renewal Charge The charges apply to all Masters that apply and successfully complete the requirements to become an Exempt Master for a particular zone. 7 TONNAGE Vessel Tonnage charges apply to all vessels exceeding 35 metres in length overall (LOA). Charges apply for the first day or part thereof with a reduced charge for each subsequent 24 hour period or part thereof. 8 TOWAGE Rates of Hire The Hire Rate per tug (calculated as the Base Rate plus the GRT Rate) for handling a vessel within a three nautical mile radius of the relevant Berth for the first two hours in all ports except Hobart which is 2.5 hours and is calculated as follows: Statewide Base Rate $1, GRT Rate $0.42 Maximum Hire Rate (per tug) $11, Additional Period of Towage The Hire Rate per tug covers the first two hours (2.5 hours in the Hobart port) from the time for which a tug service was booked and a tug has attended the vessel, after which a charge of 25% of the applicable Hire Rate per tug will be charged per 60 minutes, or part thereof. 9 Tug in attendance standing by the vessel Assisting the vessel Fuel surcharge Coastal Towage Sundry and Special Services *In the event that towage is required due to inclement weather the above rates will apply unless by mutual agreement between the vessel and TasPorts Towage Manager. 50% for the first two hours after which an hourly rate of 50% of the standby rate will be charged 100% for the first two hours after which an hourly charge of 50% of the hire rate per tug will be charged A fuel surcharge is charged per tug engaged. 10 CRUISE VESSELS The following pricing will apply for cruise vessels calling at Ports and Outports around Tasmania. 11 Aborted Call/Canellation Charges Pilotage Cancellation Charge - Port call A cancellation charge applies when a vessel movement is cancelled within two hours of the time for which a Pilot has been ordered at a port Pilotage Cancellation Charge - Outport call A cancellation charge of 50% of the applicable pilotage rate will be charged when a vessel call at an outport or anchorage is aborted or cancelled once the pilot has departed with their home port. Aborted Pilotage Cancellation Charge - Port call 1, A cancellation charge applies when a vessel movement is aborted after the Pilot has boarded or commenced transfer to the vessel. Cruise Ship Late Cancellation Charge A late cancellation charge applies for cruise ship calls which are cancelled within 72hours of the cruise ship s scheduled ETA. This charge is set at the respective port s Berth Set Up Fee to cover costs associated with berth allocation and operational costs Hobart Burnie Other ports 3, , , Security See Security charge section of Schedule of Ports Charges on page 12. Equipment, gangway and services Other charges relating to equipment hire, gangway hire, water and electricity will apply as per the Other Charges section of the Tasports Schedule of Ports Charges on page 17. 12 EXPEDITION CRUISE VESSELS (< 11,000 GRT) The following charges have been introduced for expedition cruise vessels calling at Tasmania. A number of ports and outports are available for expedition cruise vessels, these include Hobart, Burnie, Devonport, Inspection Head, Bell Bay, Stanley, King Island and Flinders Island. Security Security charges may apply depending on the specific vessel requirements and the application of Maritime Security Zones. Security requirements apply to all cruise vessels with minimum manning requirements applying depending on the nature of the vessel cargo. Transit only Security requirements will apply in line with Tasports Security Plan and charged in accordance with the Security section of Tasports Schedule of Ports Charges. Turnaround (Hobart only) If Hobart is being used as a turnaround port (only) security charges are reduced to zero. If passenger and luggage screening is required, this will be charged as per the Schedule of Ports Charges. Wharfage Reduced to Zero for the re-supply of expedition cruise vessels. Equipment, gangway and services No charge applies for the hire of gangway or portable shelter, however charges may apply for the transporation of equipment between berths, outports or locations where equipment is not currently available. 13 SECURITY Security charges may apply depending on the specific vessel requirements and the application of Maritime Security Zones. Security requirements apply to all cruise, chemical, oil and gas vessels with minimum manning requirements applying depending on the nature of the vessel cargo. 15 Crane Hire If required, a crane will be engaged by the Slipway Supervisor and the invoiced cost plus 20% Administration Charge will be charged back to the client. A 33 % loading is charged for weekends, public holidays and between 1800 to 0600 hours, unless otherwise arranged. A cancellation needs to be provided within five (5) working days to avoid a four (4) hour charge. If a cancellation is received leaving two (2) or fewer working days a six (6) hour charge will apply.
