3 E-cabin Welcome to the E-cabin, the John Deere -exclusive, high-tech forest machine environment equipped with a turning radius of 160 degrees to turn every head but your operator s. The most innovative change in CTL machinery operation in decades, the automatically rotating E-cabin merges ergonomics and operator-friendly functionality to maintain the focus on the boom and the harvester head. Comfort features include low noise and vibration levels, adjustable deluxe seat with armrest controls and backlight, a premium audio system, automatic air conditioning, a heater/cooler for refreshments, and lots of storage space. After driving the E-Series, I would not switch back. Large curved windows provide excellent visibility. The state-of-the-art cabinleveling system quickly and smoothly absorbs terrain changes. 4 The IT4 engine control unit (ECU) can be easily updated with the latest engine software via remote connection, ensuring consistently efficient engine performance and reducing the need for technicians to perform maintenance in the field. IT4 ECU, transmission, and pump control units are within easy reach under the tilt-away hood. The twin-pump system gives me the extra power to maintain high harvesterhead productivity during all phases of processing. 4

5 Clean engine power John Deere PowerTech Plus IT4 engines feature field-proven emission-control technology. They are simple to operate and maintain while delivering power, fuel efficiency, reliability, and low daily operating costs. These engines utilize the proven cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) platform for NOx control with the addition of an exhaust filter for reducing particulate matter (PM). This diesel-only solution delivers best-in-class total fuel economy per harvested m 3. Automatic exhaust filter regeneration consistently maintains the system, minimizing downtime so operators are able to focus on the job at hand. The standard hydraulic reversing fan automatically keeps the engine cooler clean, lowering fuel consumption and reducing noise. The PowerCore engine air prefilter also helps prolong service intervals, lowering overall operating costs. Efficient hydraulics The new twin-pump hydraulics and advanced power-management system deliver solid machine performance even in the most demanding logging environments. The advanced hydraulic power solution utilizes two open-loop pumps one for harvester-head and transmission control, with a second for harvester-head and boom control for highly efficient, simultaneous steering, boom, and wood-processing control. Common serviceability features IT4 E-Series Harvesters feature common platforms to maximize productivity and durability. The middle joint, stability brake, and frame design are common across all John Deere harvesters for reliability and flexibility of service. Interchangeable electronic components, i.e. controllers, help ensure machine uptime, while control panels common in both E-Series Harvesters and Forwarders make shifting from one John Deere machine to another feel like no shift at all. Designed for easy service access, the time spent on daily maintenance is greatly reduced through such features as electric-tilt engine hoods, centralized checkpoints, and well-located refill pumps. It provides 11-percent more lifting torque and 15-percent more slewing torque than before. Depending on your application, the CH7 is available in 8.6-, 10.0-, or 11.7-m (28.2, 32.8, or 38.4 ft.) reach options. The 1470E IT4 and its tough CH8 boom are the perfect match for heavy timber harvesting. Exceptional lift and slew capacities and agile handling up to 11 m (36.1 ft.) make the CH8 the go-to boom for a range of applications. The control system manual opens directly to the guideline page for quick reference when needed. User-friendly TimberMatic H-12 machine-automation features several pressure sensors, simplifying harvester adjustments without the need for additional gauges and boosting control and productivity.
