You can now use tools, small compressors, cleaning machines or any 230 VAC equipment without a utility power connection. By adding our WhisperPowerCentre (WPC) inverter / battery pack, the 230 VAC system 6 Alternator output power can be elevated to 7 kw thanks to the parallel mode between the BeltPower Inverter and the WPC. It is an ideal solution for off-road motorhomes, horse boxes, utility trucks and sewer cleaning trucks etc. Our standard off the shelf All-in-One system is extremely compact and provides up to 7 kva, 230 VAC-50 Hz of combined inverter / generator power. In addition we offer a Premium version based on a Lithium Power Pack of 320 Ah / 24 V, only weighing 112 kg, and a 7 kva (14 kva max) sine wave inverter. This version is made to measure and consists of a genverter, power electronics and separate a battery compartment. Standard version This system is powerful enough to supply 7 kva, 230 VAC for certain periods of time as well as 3.5 kw continuous power, using either the Genverter or the built-in inverter. All the parts are pre-fabricated, including the cooling system for the generator, the exhaust system and the electrical connections. Just connect the AC output to the AC distribution system inside the vehicle and the DC connections to the truck battery and the DC system inside and off you go! Only mechanical skills are needed to install this system! Optional: distribution and additional controls As an extension to the All-in-One PowerStation we offer a complete CANbus based Vehicle Management System (VMS). This enables the digital switching of lights and other DC appliances, dimming of lights, air conditioning and heating control, engine and tank control as well as many other functions. Should just a generator be needed, we offer a complete range of modern, light-weight and compact diesel generators within our Genverter range. Compact, silent and lightweight The new Genverter range is ideal for mobile applications % smaller and lighter than traditional fixed 1800 rpm generators, they generate perfect power thanks to the applied PMG inverter. The running speed can be adjusted to match power requirements. All generators are supplied in supersilent stainless steel or sheet metal sound shields rendering them extremely quiet. A one-circuit water cooling system for both the engine and the alternator makes the set even more silent and suitable to stow away. Heat is dissipated using a radiator cooling system. This can be installed either as part of the generator or remotely mounted on the roof, in the side of the vehicle or under the floor. 14 Generating Power Generating power can be achieved in a number of ways. Installing a WhisperPower silent generator resolves the question of energy on board of a vehicle permanently. Our diesel generators act as a small in vehicle power plant: continuous power on demand. Quiet, compact, economical, reliable, durable and easy to operate. This section contains detailed information about all of our generators, all of which are easy and ready to connect and can be integrated and combined to form a complete WhisperPower system. WhisperPower supplies everything needed for installation with a complete installation package available for every generator. The different types of generators are described below and a guideline to help select the right model is provided on the pages that follow. System Monitoring and Control All of our generator systems are delivered as standard with an advanced operator and control panel. This provides an insight into all important system parameters and allows for automatic operation (start/stop). Our TOUCH panels do not only provide the management and control of the electrical power system itself. Functions such as tank meters, heating and air conditioning controls as well as other various vehicle - related controls can also be combined with our TOUCH panels. Furthermore, we also offer remote control of the entire system via internet or GSM (NMEA2000 connectable). See page 22. Genverter series - the new generation! Our Genverter technology combines modern diesel technology with the latest method in generating electric power. Instead of a conventional alternator mounted on the rear side of the flywheel housing, which has to rotate at a fixed speed, an incredibly compact permanent-magnet alternator (PM) is integrated on to the flywheel. This makes our Genverter systems much smaller and lighter than traditional generators and thanks to the high efficiency of the applied super magnets, less fuel is needed. The output voltage of the generator is not dependent on the speed of the diesel engine. Our so-called PMG inverter ensures the correct voltage and frequency. The speed of the generator can be set to a value giving the optimum balance between the desired output power, the lowest noise level and minimal vibration. Some models are fitted with automatic speed control. 19 Genverter series DC output DC generator / inverter system For cases when constant power consumption isn t required, installing a Genverter system with the DC PowerCube, combined with an AC PowerCube inverter, can prove to be a smart decision. The advantage of this system is that a non-stop AC power supply is always available. This is thanks to the 4, 7 or 14 kw AC PowerCube inverter which is connected to one or multiple onboard batteries being charged by one or several DC PowerCubes. Whenever the 24 VDC batteries need to be recharged, the Genverter starts up automatically. 22 Essential installation accessories for Genverter and Classic Generators All WhisperPower Classic Generators and Genverters are liquid cooled in order to cool the engine and electrical alternator. Similar to cars, radiators are needed to cool the liquid to achieve this result. WhisperPower supplies a couple of cooling systems which are shown below. Our latest Genverter generator systems only require ONE RADIATOR. For our Classic models (SC/ SQ) it varies - TWO radiators are needed for single phase systems whereas ONE radiator is needed for 3-phase systems. When it comes to ROOF cooling, we offer a TOP COOL system and we supply various radiators for vehicle under floor or side cooling. For cases where high operating temperatures apply we recommend to install a two-radiator per cooling circuit. 23 Exhaust systems for all genverter and SQ models Service Kits from WhisperPower To make the WhisperPower system as quiet as possible a well designed and installed exhaust system is required. We offer two different exhaust systems. Our stainless steel Combi absorption/resonance muffler is, in general, a good solution for all 1 cylinder based systems. For multi-cylinder systems two silencers are needed: an absorption and resonance muffler. The A-kit contains all the spare parts for those items, such as filters and belts, that should be replaced on a regular basis. We advise always ordering an A-kit along with you new WhisperPower generator. The B-kit consists of parts for those items which may need to be replaced after a longer period of time, depending on the number of operating hours. Our B-kits include a larger number of components such as seals and various mechanical parts. 37 Battery Charger DC PowerCube series The DC PowerCube is designed for more extensive electrical systems with a large battery bank and significant DC-consumption. The DC PowerCube converts the delivered power (from the grid or generator) to DC for lighting, electronic equipment, pumps and other DC loads. The DC PowerCube can deliver up to 4.3kW (24 V or 48 VDC), enough to charge batteries quickly whilst still providing the various DC and AC loads with power for all equipment on board of even the biggest vehicles. The DC PowerCube can even be used as a power supply, without batteries, as the smooth output voltage is incredibly uniform and ripple free. Dual functionality The WhisperPower DC PowerCube and our extremely efficient Genverter is a pairing that makes perfect sense. Should there not be enough capacity from the AC connection, the Genverter supplements the supply via the DC PowerCube. With a Genverter connection, the DC PowerCube, in combination with an AC PowerCube or WPC Combi s, can provide power the entire DC and AC system. The different stages of the charging process can be viewed on the DC PowerCube s charge bar and on the remote control panel. If the DC PowerCube is charging, the bulk-led is always on. The indicator for 20-40% illuminates if the charging voltage is higher. If the charging voltage is increased to the bulk value of 28.5 / 57 (depending on the type of battery), the charger switches to the absorption phase. 44 Smart Battery monitoring A look inside the battery When putting together a DC installation for a vehicle, there is more to take in to consideration than just the correct choice of battery and associated charging systems. All sorts of other items can have something to do with the battery or are connected to it and can significantly impact the end result. Battery usage indicator - knowledge is power The WBM is a universal battery monitor that displays the status of the battery with very high precision. Via the display, the following information is brought up: The main battery voltage (V) The power consumption indicated in ampere-hours (Ah) Power consumption in amperes (A) Charge current of battery charger, combi, solar panels, windmills, etc. (A) Battery capacity in % Remaining battery capacity and time remaining in minutes and hours (Pro Series) The WBM provides a look inside the battery and is essential for preserving long battery life. Three versions The WBM Basic version is identical to the PRO version, only without the time remaining indicator in hours and minutes. The PRO-HV is suitable for DC systems up to 70 VDC. Automatic start function The WBM can also be used as a means of automatically starting a DC or AC generator, based on the battery voltage or battery condition. 48 AC installations AC Power Distribution To connect a vehicle safely to land power a number of safety devices are needed. This is to make sure that the batteries are not damaged before the end of their normal lifespan. The Voltage Guard has to be installed in the DC connection between the battery and the DC consumers. The Voltage Guard is programmable and the desired upper and lower limits of the permissible voltage are easy to set up. Products and components for vehicles Battery Charge Optimiser WP-BE Battery Balancer 24VDC The WP- BE Battery Balancer is designed to extend the life cycle of 12 VDC batteries which are connected in series to create 24 VDC battery systems. The device balances the state of charge of two series connected 12V batteries or of several parallel strings of series connected batteries by equalising the charge voltage to a similar voltage level. The WhisperPower Voltage Guard is an essential component of a vehicle s auxiliary battery system, installed in addition to the starter battery. We have been supplying a 200 A version for many years now and in general, this has mainly been used by our marine customers. Our new 40 and 60 A versions are suitable for smaller systems as are commonly found in the various mobile markets. The working principles of all versions are similar: the Voltage Guard consists of a high current electronic switch capable of switching loads from 40 amps upwards. If the battery voltage drops below a previously set value, the load will automatically be disconnected. The on-and-off-values can be selected by turning the potentiometer on the front of the unit. When any of these set points are reached, a warning LED will light up and in addition an audible alarm will sound. Remote monitoring and operation is possible if the WVG is linked to the main electrical panel. A built-in hysteresis allows for a shortterm voltage drop caused by switching on a heavy load. The Voltage Guards have an extremely low no load consumption. The WP BE Battery Balancer operates as a voltage equaliser. When the charge voltage of a 24V battery system reaches 27 V, the Battery Balancer is activated and compares the voltage of the two series connected batteries and equalises the voltage to one level. This plan covers, as standard, the costs of repairs and/or replacement of defective parts when products are used under normal conditions. The conditions of the Whisper- Power WarrantyPlan are specific to the product and the use there of in your sys- tems. The standard warranty term for equipment is two years. For authorised system installations with a maintenance contract, the warranty period is extended to five years. The warranty period for generator systems is based on a maximum number of operating hours. For 3000/3600rpm sets it is a maximum of 1000 operating hours and for the 1500/1800rpm sets and the Genverter 7i and 50/100 / 200 kw models, the limit is 2000 hours.
